Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
Its $30 million. We shouldn't just accept ok, since its better than terrible. We should demand a great design. Having the park still cut into two and divided by a wall of bus stops is not a great design and will function terribly. Also we havent learned how the whole central crosswalk will work

Cleveland Browns Discussion
You basically said exactly what I was thinking. He got screwed over on several occasions and never really got the chance to get things going. They kept saying what Hoyer did with his 4 "drives" which was lame since the first one was basically over before it started, and the third one the receiver fumbled before anything could get going. The fourth "drive" was the last 24 seconds of the half and was just one short pass play to wind down the clock. We really didn't get any valuable evaluation time for Hoyer. What we did get to see is that Manziel is far from being ready to start in the NFL. If we put him out there week one we are basically going to destroy his career. Im not certain he will be able to succeed in the NFL like some are, but I think putting him out there now will give him zero chance of doing so.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
None of these improvements will improve "fan experience" if the Browns offense continues to look this terrible!

Pittsburgh, downtown 2014
^ What days were you there? Last time I was there I thought the downtown had a great energy, and was surprised at the foot traffic levels at all times of day. I was also surprised how used the downtown subway stations were, even at random times. Pittsburgh really is a great city. Not quite sure about their food scene, but Id assume a lot of good places are probably on Carson Street.

Miscellaneous Ohio Political News
I think I heard of them having one full time officer, and then paying something like $1 to the rest. New cops work there for a year as a way to get experience. Sort of like an internship.

Detroit: Transit News
Did they consider an extension of the people mover? I thought the original plan was to have a system feed into the downtown loop.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
^ that's not my personal experience. Tons of people from the suburbs go to West 25th. I could see the flats drawing a slightly older crowd, but I don't see this as urban vs suburban. I think both will draw a lot of the same crowd. The flats of course should draw some old timers though who are curious about the new flats.

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
Many of us are strongly disgusted by animal violence. I thought he deserved to have his picture plastered all over the place. KJP also did not post any of the story, just the headline and the link. Sometimes he does include part of the article. Not really a big deal. Also it wasn't much trouble, literally took 5 seconds of my time. Less than it took to write this post. Edit: just re-read your post. I didn't have to save and create a link for the image. All I had to do was copy the link and paste it onto this site. I didn't have to upload the image to photobucket and host it myself. Whats your point anyways?

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
Can we get that Goddard Law?! Honestly I don't think that punishment is even severe enough for this guy. He didn't just kill this poor animal, he tortured it. Would an eye for an eye be too extreme in this case?

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
^ Nice, I was wondering about the skatepark the other day since we haven't really heard much about it lately. I didn't realize they had already broken ground!

Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
They appear to be charging an average rate of under $1 per square foot. At $0.95 per square foot, they'd be making around $270,655 a year on rent. At $1.50 per square foot, they'd be making around $427,350 a year on rent. After 10 years they'd make an additional $46,000 for every 700 square feet of apartment space. I would think any apartment owner would be interested in making that investment, even if its one unit at a time.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
^ I agree about the new building. It respects it surroundings and does not overpower the other buildings. Fits in nicely on its lot and adds a nice diversity to the areas already diverse architecture.

^ Would that be market rate?
-
Cleveland: University Circle: Cleveland Clinic Developments
Expanding the Clinic east is huge. If the garage is built well, with retail like mentioned, you will see a better connection to the Cedar-University Circle rapid station. That whole area east of East 105th and south of Carnegie has so much potential for office development and market rate residential development.

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
They have extendable ramps. I haven't seen any of the back door ramps be used in a long time. Most of the front door ramps are broken so the driver has to park the bus and manually flip open the ramp with the handles they have installed since they must not plan on fixing them. It creates a nice sound as the bus driver throws the ramp up and it crashes against the pavement.
