Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
Didn't the incident happen outside of the festival on a nearby street?
-
Cleveland: North Coast Transportation Center
What's the deal with the ugly zigzag (longer walk) pedestrian bridge. Terrible design

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Would be interesting to see what is within a half mile WALK! Really is the only thing that matters.

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
I would love a daytime train to Pittsburgh, as well as a direct connection to Philadelphia.

NFL: General News & Discussion
Public Auditorium? Activities could happen nearby in the connected Convention Center as well as the Mall "Per NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, the NFL is requiring any potential venue to have the ability to host a fan festival in an adjacent indoor or outdoor space."

Wade Oval Wednesday happens every week without any problems

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Mean Streak would be my guess. Help boost ridership and get visitors to the back of the park. The other rides would require change of paint colors IMO.

2014 FIFA World Cup
Imagine the browns making it to, and losing the Super Bowl hosted in Cleveland(never would happen). I think we would be reacting the same way, if not far worse!

Cleveland: Local Media News & Discussion
No need to turn this into political bashing over one dumba$$ writer and newspaper. The PD is pathetic though. They seem to keep getting worse. The fact they keep adam ferrise around, a guy who clearly can't write or spell and has suspicious motives shows how pathetic they are.

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
^I saw a Healthline vehicle getting towed down Euclid Avenue last week so I would guess breakdowns would be the reason. Higher capacity than the regular busses which are also being used as replacements.

Cleveland - Fireworks on near west side, 67th & 69th
^ I saw a display in the distance that looked like it was being shot off in a line, and not one spot so I figured it was west 67th. But it appeared to be slightly further than the battery park sign so I couldn't figure out where they were coming from. Seemed like a great display that lasted very long. The Cleveland display was quite disappointing this year.

What is a realistic goal for living "car lite" in the Cleveland area?
Really depends on where you live like everyone else has said. Living anywhere in-between Cedar-Fairmount and Coventry is probably at the top of the walkability list for Cleveland. Basically have everything you need in both of those neighborhoods. Its also a short walk down to University Circle/Little Italy and to the Red Line to Downtown. Cedar Lee is also an easy bike ride if you want to see a movie or go to the main library (Coventry has a smaller library). Come to think of it, what an awesome area of connected urban areas. University Circle, Little Italy, Cedar Fairmount, Coventry, and Cedar Lee all in a row without any sketchy areas in-between. Shaker Square is also nearby.

Ninja City Kitchen and Bar have their sign up now. I'll try to post a picture of it later tonight unless someone beats me to it!

It's posted in the " Cleveland-Area TOD Discussion" thread though.

I'm actually starting to think there is a decent chance that he is coming back.

Cleveland Area TOD Discussion
I think a lot of those projects are a stretch to call TOD. Also, from a quick look through, many should add little to no increase in ridership. The list just basically just includes any development which happened downtown or in University Circle. That doesn't seem honest. Medical Mart as TOD of Tower City station?! Cleveland Museum of Art Expansion as TOD of Adelbert Station?! Westin Hotel as TOD of East 6th Street Station?! That just comes off as a joke to me. You might as well include Crocker Park as TOD since its the beginning and end of bus lines and has stations.

Cleveland: Population Trends
Bring 'em back while the weather's warm. It's an easier adjustment to winter when the adjustment takes months -- rather than stepping off a plane getting and smacked in the face by it in the middle of January! Don't talk about Winter! This is my time to forget about it for awhile!!!

Cleveland (2014)
Unless you go to certain pockets during lunch time, these pictures represent what you will actually see. Downtown north of Euclid is embarrassingly dead, which is also unfortunate since that is a huge chunk of downtown. Hopefully things will change but I doubt it due to the nature of the buildings. Btw nice pictures!...although you forgot the east side (where all the pedestrians are! ;) )

2014 FIFA World Cup
Cleveland should have tried to have a large watch party. Would have been positive press and a good image boost to the city. ESPN and other news keep showing what other cities are doing. Would be nice if they kept throwing up live feeds and videos of Cleveland. Also makes the city seem like a fun place to be.

Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
Violent teenagers... If these two should be in jail for other crimes but aren't, there should be an outrage by both residents and the media. http://www.newsnet5.com/news/local-news/oh-cuyahoga/shooting-reported-on-lee-road-at-silsby-road-in-cleveland-heights-suspect-at-large

Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
I know we've discussed this about city neighborhoods (lack of it), but does Cleveland Heights have police designated to the popular commercial districts? Seems like a cop or two in Coventry, Cedar Fairmount, and Cedar Lee would be beneficial.
