Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
And of course, Adam Ferrise and the Plain Dealer already have a poll up asking if you still feel safe visiting Lee Road. Pathetic

Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
I wonder if the cameras caught anything. Such a weird story though. Risky location and time of day. I wonder how it escalated to shots actually being fired.

Its kind of crazy how bad our office market got.

Cleveland Rapid Rail Construction Projects (Non-Service Issues)
RTA has made a lot of progress on the new Little Italy station over the last month since the road has been closed. I feel like this station should open ahead of schedule.

Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
Although I view it as completely unlikely that any department store move in, why relocate the other businesses? No need for a block of display windows, especially when there is still place for a grand entrance on Euclid and you still have the entire prospect side for display windows.

Doan Brook shouldn't be under that site if they followed the natural path at all.

Cleveland: Transit Ideas for the Future
I don't need "most people." I just need a mix of about 1,000 Baby Boomers, Millennials and others who will live or work within 1,000 feet of each station on average and use that station each day. And I need another 1,500 on average per station to connect via bus, bike or park-n-ride car. Combine those averages with 20 Red Line stations (adding just two more stations) and you've got a Red Line that's nearly doubled in ridership from 26,500 per day to 50,000. Goal attained. Sounds easier than it is! Plus 50,000 a day is still quite low for the entire line. 50,000 isn't unheard of for a single station! How do we get that?!

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
Whats up with Euclid? While riding the Healthline I noticed that a lot of Euclid Avenue is cut up. Did the cement really get that bad that quickly that that much of Euclid needs to be replaced? The curbs in the medians also seem to be falling apart in places.

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
I saw atleast two Clifton brt vehicles operating as Healthline vehicles today. Also the healthline vehicles clearly have issues. The ramps are broken, the horns do not work on several of the vehicles, polls disconnected, duct tape on the floor, etc.

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
Why would you think the HL vehicles are anywhere near the end of their life useful cycle?? That statement/question has me perplexed. I think believe the Clifton stations are appropriate for the surrounding architecture. The non historic Shaker Rapid stations shelters should be rebuilt using this design. Just my self-analysis, the buses continuously break down and sometimes have to have regular 2200-2800 series buses replace them which to me indicates that they are having problems keeping the HL buses on the road due to maintenance issues. The HL buses probably will age faster due to them being used 24/7 so heavy mileage use is beginning to catch up to it in my opinion. Also due to heavy usage the interiors are starting to show age, ramps are being duct taped, the LED indicators don't work half the time as well. Mechanically the buses sound loud an atrocious, especially given the type of route it represents. As I stated earlier from my self-analysis I feel like even though the buses are literally half way through their life cycle they will need to be replaced sooner than other RTA buses. I'm not speaking from an experts point of view though only my opinion. Yesterday I saw a regular bus and one of the new Clifton BRT vehicles (currently acting as East side red line) both acting as the healthline. The healthline vehicles have many issues.

Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
Im not so sure about that. Although the rental market is hot, the condo market still appears to be very slow. The Grand Arcade has a lot of units for sale and most have been for sale for awhile now. Downtown for sale units seem to take a long time to sell. I don't see any conversions happening anytime soon, especially since they are so easy to fill with renters.

Nice, welcome to the neighborhood! Are you speaking of the old heartstrings location? Also I never heard anything about Campbell's! Does anyone know what storefront they will be moving into?

What Would You Re-Name the Cleveland Indians?
- Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
Yes it is gentrification. If the rumors on here are true and the Jacobs property and PS redesign are linked then it will be designed specifically to keep the poorest parts of the public out despite being a "public" park. Unless public square is gated, guarded, and requires proof of income in order to enter, this will in no way prevent low income residents from visiting the square.- Cleveland-Akron: Bicycling Developments and News
That bridge is a place where you should just ride on the sidewalk.- Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I don't think having a parking garage on PS with the hub of RTA and the HL right there. There are plenty of lots in the area that could absorb those spots. You may not like it, but you can be sure the market and financiers will require parking for this building. I'm recommending the least intrusive way to do parking, besides spending a king's ransom to bury it below ground. Why Society, um, Key doe not have parking? I didn't look but did AmeriTrust Center include parking?- What Would You Re-Name the Cleveland Indians?
I view the older logo as far worse/offensive and an actual caricature of native americans. Chief Wahoo on the other hand appears to be more of just a fictional character which follows the team colors. Personally I sort of wish they ditch the Chief just because i'm personally not into silly logos and prefer the block C.- Cleveland: Random Development and News
By the old Cleveland Playhouse, south side of Euclid Ave. Thats why I couldn't figure out where that would be! East 83rd and Euclid is not University Circle!- Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
"The homicides this weekend bumped up Cleveland's homicide number to 51 this year, Cleveland police spokesman Ali Pillow said." http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2014/06/cleveland_councilmen_demand_th.html- Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
And that the thing. As guys, even many of us strongly dislike going to Public Square. For women(a minority on this site) it is 100 times worse.- Cleveland: Random Development and News
Where is this sign?- Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
I recall the 9 express taking 20 or less, even stopping. The 9 schedule says it takes 13 minutes to go from 105th to 19th on Euclid. The BRT schedule does not break down by stop, just the ends. 40 minutes from Windermere to downtown. Why was this money spent, again? Anyone going from end to is crazy not to take the Red Line, which covers this route in 18 minutes. But it happens quite often because if heading downtown, one has to pay on the Red Line but can easily get away with not paying on the Healthline. Because of this, the Red Line is also a much quieter and pleasant ride.- Cleveland: Transit Ideas for the Future
Not moving the station to Adelbert was a huge mistake in my opinion.- Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
From what I can tell, it was a group of people(probably drunk) climbing on it and taking pictures. One of them probably put too much pressure on a part of the statue and a bronze bar broke off. - Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
