"[umberto] Fedeli is hosting a high-dollar fundraiser for Jackson at his Gates Mills home at the end of the month." A conservative Republican who lives in the Village of Gates Mills and whose business is located in the City of Independence is hosting a fundraiser for the Democratic mayor of the City of Cleveland

Or...we just stop gerrymandering our districts (which is coming in a few years) and then elect good people to the Statehouse, and instead of being at each other's throats, all the urban areas can work together to create an urban friendly climate in the state.

I know the differences get confusing, but this has nothing to do with the Plain Dealer. It's all Cleveland.com. The two are not the same.
  4. The project is going before Design Review for conceptual approval on Thursday http://planning.city.cleveland.oh.us/designreview/drcagenda/2017/06162017/DRC_2017_6_15.pdf
  5. It's just a long term plan that's used to focus transportation planning in the region. Lots of rail extensions have been included in previous NOACA plans in the past, but obviously have never come to fruition.

The partisan primaries were in effect for only a short time. They were non-partisan from the passing of the city charter in 1913 until 1958, when a charter amendment was passed to make them partisan. Perk's supporters led the charge to restore non-partisan primaries in 1971. I believe the reason Perk was in favor of this is that it would require the mayor to get a majority vote in the November election, since it would only be among the top two vote getters, thus making it easier to beat an incumbent.

Same here, I think. Hard to remember though, it was over 12 years ago.
  8. The new E 34 St station broke ground today. There's no Plain Dealer story on it to link to, so here's RTA's tweet:
  9. Or even better, the "Cleveland transit- ideas for the future" thread: https://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,2768.1155.html

  11. The number of western New York students at CSU is very small, so I wouldn't suspect that's the case.
  12. I wish they posted minutes and vote results of BZA meetings, as well as design review, CPC, and landmark meetings

And then there's Tallmadge, whose 1825-built church was featured on the cover of Life Magazine in 1944
  14. Agreed, the bridge will be a game changer. At least we know that it's already fully funded, and with the Metroparks leading the way, I'm optimistic. Now we just need to finish up getting funding for Irishtown Bend and the trail extension of the Willow Ave Bridge and it'll be all connected!
  15. Nice! Lights were put up along most of the path a few weeks ago From 4/30

The Qline runs in mixed traffic lanes on the outer edges of Woodward. It would have been a better design had it been placed in the middle of Woodward with dedicated lanes, like the HealthLine
  17. The Cleveland Orchestra's Star-Spangled Spectacular will be moving back to Mall B this year! I'm glad to see this. Mall B was the perfect location for it and I was disappointed when it went back to Public Square last year. It will be Friday, June 30th at 9:00pm. http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20170511/NEWS/170519957/cleveland-orchestra-sets-details-for-star-spangled-spectacular?utm_campaign=socialflow&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social

  21. Yeah, 10 years ago...
  22. Can you elaborate on that? Because I don't think that's true.
