Cleveland: One University Circle
It's happening! One University Circle apartment tower, Cleveland's first such project in years, gets under way By Michelle Jarboe, The Plain Dealer on June 09, 2016 at 3:57 PM CLEVELAND, Ohio – The city's first new high-rise apartment tower in more than 40 years will start inching skyward this summer, with money in place and site preparations under way. First Interstate Properties, Ltd., and Petros Development Corp., a team of local developers, closed on financing May 27 for One University Circle, a $116 million project scheduled to open in spring 2018. Workers quickly demolished the former Children's Museum of Cleveland buildings on the high-profile site, at Euclid Avenue, Stokes Boulevard and Stearns Road. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2016/06/one_university_circle_apartmen_2.html And here's a picture of the ground breaking from this afternoon courtesy of @inthecircle

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
RTA says the fare evasion rate is quite low. I believe it's 3%? What else is RTA going to say? Until I see strong evidence to the contrary, I'll take them at their word.

Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
I fail to see how this is a bad thing

The other thing I like about it is that Taco Bell is typically open late, which will be sure to provide activity near Public Square and lower Euclid well into the night.

^ And I suppose I'll always feel similarly about the Indians, having grown up in the '90s.

^ I know, I know. But it's sadly true for a lot of people in this town and I hate that the Browns have such loyalty despite being a pathetic, losing franchise.

Where did you hear that? That option was ruled out years ago.

I disagree with that. As long as they stay in contention and look legit, people will show up. Just look at 2007.

^ How is it that we have more losses against the Twins than we do against the rest of the AL Central combined?

Cleveland: One University Circle
It looked like there was construction equipment on site when I went by there a few days ago.

Cleveland: Campus District
Here's a ground level update of the project. Interesting construction method. (Sorry for the bad quality pic) Also, right across the street, the Comfort Inn is getting a new paint job.

Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
I went to check out the Hilton last night and I was very impressed with it all. My favorite part was that as I approached the hotel from Mall B, there were people standing on the patio of the Burnham restaurant, which faces the Mall. It's great to finally have an establishment adjacent to the Mall that will bring activity all hours of the day. Here are some pictures: There are great views all around

^ Yeah I went by last night and pretty much all construction vehicles and tools were gone. The traffic lights were also operational.

Cleveland: Jack Cleveland Casino
Whenever you get discouraged by Dan Gilbert's bad taste, just remember, this could have been a Caesars Casino with all kinds of tacky faux Roman ruins and columns and statues etc. In comparison to what could have been, I think we're okay. Quite true. Despite the large sign though, I think the rest of the JACK stuff looks good. I really like the red color scheme of the flags and awnings. It adds some much needed color to that area.
