Yup, I'll be there! I'm working it

Cleveland: Downtown: Progressive Field
Glad to see the changes, I do think the green looks better. Also, it seems small, but I'm really happy to see that they plan to add flag poles for Ohio and Cleveland flags. Many other ballparks fly the flags of their city and state, and I always wished Progressive Field did the same. Will be a nice touch.

Cleveland-Akron: Bicycling Developments and News
Bike share system coming to Cleveland run by Zagster. Announcement is tomorrow at Market Garden. I feel like this came out of nowhere. http://www.newsnet5.com/news/local-news/cleveland-metro/bike-sharing-coming-to-clevleand Also, I'm a bit skeptical because of this line, "Zagster is fundamentally different from big-city programs in that their technology and system is lower cost, without sacrificing functionality," said spokesperson John Williams. "Their strategy is to bring bike sharing to smaller cities, communities, universities and real estate developments — places where the big city models don’t pencil out." Are we about to half-ass a bike share program?

Going to See the Tribe in the D. Suggestions?
Yeah, I was thinking about checking that out. It's close enough to downtown. Does Detroit have a Lakeview Cemetery equivalent?

That's perfect...exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

Going to See the Tribe in the D. Suggestions?
I often am bothered when people make these threads instead of looking things up for themselves, but I always value the insight from you guys--insight you can't always get from Yelp, TripAdvisor, etc. I'm going up to Detroit this weekend to see the Tribe, but will also be doing some exploring of the city. I know there are a number of you who are very familiar with the Motor City. I have no interest in taking "ruin porn" pictures or anything like that, and I want to see as much of "real Detroit" as possible. I have been there a few times before, but haven't spent much time at all outside of downtown/midtown. Here is what I've seen there: Ren Center, Comerica Park, Tiger Stadium (RIP), the Motown Museum, American/Layette Coney Island, Greektown, and the riverfront area. We are planning to check out Eastern Market and Corktown, but that's all I have on the list so far. What other areas would an urbanist like myself like to see? Particular emphasis on interesting neighborhoods outside of downtown.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
The entire portion of the east side Red Line seems like a slow zone. As well as the Green/Blue Lines from TC to E. 79th. The west side slow zones seem to be from TC to W 117th, and then a significant portion after West Park.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Can some one explain the reasoning behind these "slow zones"? Riding the Red Line has been maddening as it feels like it just crawls for most of the trip. There are a few stretches where it reaches decent speed, but those are few and far between. I'd understand if there were slow downs on sections of track with sharp curves or something, but that's not the case. Edit: Come to think of it, I'd say the same is true for the Green/Blue Lines as well.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
I do think the 9 is the single biggest "game changer" project downtown in this recent spate of development.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
Here are a couple pics I took after work today. Putting the finishing touches on the entrance, training the valet guys, and they've added a new "9" logo on the side. Very exciting!

So, of the whole complex, what exactly will be opening? I know the Heinen's won't be open until spring, but is everything else (hotel, restaurant, vault bar, roof top bar, etc) ready to go?

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
Apologizes for continuing to go off topic, but the arcade between Euclid and Superior is simply "The Arcade."

Cleveland: Transit Ideas for the Future
The location isn't ideally situated, mainly because it's directly north of I-90 thus being cut off from residential areas to the south, but it would be nice if there was a stop at W 41st. It's still a bit of a hike to Lorain, and not a ton else around there, so I doubt ridership numbers would ever justify construction of a station there. Also would be nice to have a stop right near the Ontario/Carnegie/I-90 intersection. That'd make taking the train to the Jake or Q real convenient, as well as getting to areas to the immediate south or east of downtown (not that there's a whole lot going on in those areas at the moment now).

KJP, what kind of dollar figure are we talking to replace the power system? Is that something that could be eligible for help from the feds?

I don't "hate" it, but I feel like it looks like lettering on a Trump building in NYC

Cleveland: Random Photos
It was a beautiful day for CSU's Magnus Fest (new student orientation party) yesterday. I really love Fenn Tower

Cleveland: League Park
I went to the dedication ceremony yesterday, and it was pretty awesome. There was a good turnout and they really did a great job restoring the park. I hope this can be a positive force for the Hough neighborhood (and also help more young kids get involved with baseball). Here are some pictures:

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Here a few pictures I took from the game last night. I wish I took more, and I wish they were better quality. I'm a big fan of the new deck above the Dawg Pound. Overall, the stadium has a much cooler feel to it.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
That's what I originally thought too. Baltimore, for example, only had the Metro Subway shown and not the Light Rail. But the Green Line is shown in Boston, and the T is shown in Pittsburgh. So, I'm not sure that there's an exact rhyme or reason.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Got it. That's weird that they wouldn't include the colors on the lines. But that's the only difference. There are still icons for all bus and rail stops and it includes transit options when you put in for directions

What do you mean about Google Maps? Cleveland isn't any different than NYC, DC, Philly on there

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I've been back in Cleveland for four weeks now and have ridden RTA in some form almost every day. I've been gathering up quite a list of grievances. Here's my latest: I know it's not a big deal, but why do you have to pay or swipe your farecard on the Red Line shuttle buses from UC-Cedar to Windermere? In DC, whenever a portion of the Metro was closed, WMATA would run free shuttle buses between the affected locations. It's a pretty big inconvenience to have to take the shuttle instead of the train. Even if the shuttle buses aren't free, they should at least go off the same proof of payment system that the train line that they're replacing uses. It's also very frustrating that the stretch of rail between UC and Windermere has been closed for this long and how does RTA not have a target date yet for it's re-opening? I know Cleveland isn't DC, and I hate to sound like 'that guy' making potentially unfair comparisons, but there are so many little things RTA could be doing so much better (there are a lot of big things thy could be doing better too.)
