  1. Here are the pictures from the Planning Commission meeting agenda: http://planning.city.cleveland.oh.us/designreview/drcagenda/2018/02162018/index.php
  2. Yea, they sure do make the area look bad!!! They look like some kind of temporary power poles?? Strange. It's hard to see in the above pics, but in this picture you can see that there are a number of small cameras on the poles
  3. I have no clue. The first one I saw was on Euclid at the east bound E 19th HealthLine Station.

That was the first bathroom where I got to use a Dyson Airblade. Haha yes, me too! I also remember when I was much younger that it was one of the first bathrooms I had been to that had automatic toilets and sink faucets. It's a disgusting bathroom, but it always seemed to me to be at the cutting edge of bathroom technology.

I'm a big fan of casinos. They're open 24/7, they're clean, have multiple stalls, free wi-fi and no one asks any questions. For traveling, the Hollywood Casino in Toledo off of I-75 and Hard Rock Rocksino in Northfield off I-271 in Northfield are both good options, and they have free parking. JACK Casinos in Cleveland and Cincinnati are good options if you find yourself in the downtown of either of those cities. University student centers are also desirable, often for the same reasons as casinos.
  6. Just walked by there. Tilted Kilt is still open.
  7. RTA's final ridership numbers for 2017 are in and they're not pretty. December 2017 ridership was 2.863, meaning annual ridership for 2017 was 39,235,450. That's a new all-time low and the first time it's been under 40 million.
  8. The State of Ohio prohibits it. http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/4925

  10. Last I heard, things are in the works for that corner.
  11. It's a great building, no doubt, and at least it's not on the demo-list (at least I hope it isn't!). Not on the demo-list...yet.
  12. There are renderings on the City Planning Commission website: http://planning.city.cleveland.oh.us/designreview/drcagenda/2017/12152017/index.php
  13. Judging from the quality of the photo, the style of the clothing, and the mustaches, I'm wondering if this is actually from the 1950s. It looks older.
  14. It's hard to tell exactly, but it kind of looks like the ceiling of the old Guardian/National City Bank lobby, now Marble Room. The approximate date you gave would mean this would be some sort of renovation. Again, I'm not sure that's the building, but it's my best guess.
  15. ^ It was Neiman Marcus that signed a letter of intent to build a store at Tower City
  16. Was this "Fairmount House" built and if so where is it? 37995 Fairmount Blvd, Hunting Valley
  17. There's a "Ohio's Small & Rural Transit Systems News & Discussion" thread https://www.urbanohio.com/forum/index.php/topic,6328.150.html
  18. Well, RTA owns the rail station under the mall, but Bedrock owns the mall itself. The issue was that the mall was closed because it was late in the evening, and so "loitering" inside the mall is prohibited at that time (you can only walk to and from the rail station or parking lot during those hours). During the hours when the mall is open, there isn't an issue with riders waiting inside the Tower City lobby, they will typically just make sure you're not standing inside the doorway.
  19. TPH2* ;)
  20. I haven't seen any real evidence of that. Despite the resurgence of a few neighborhoods, the city of Detroit is continuing to lose population, like Cleveland. Wayne County also continues to lose population, while Oakland and Macomb Counties are still growing, albeit slowly.
  21. Almost a quarter mile north of a Euclid, but yes, still exciting!
  22. What is this "downtown resident discount" that you speak of??
  23. Union Station in DC, a busy train and Metro station, went through a restoration/renewal project some years ago. The building, with a lot of new retail, looks great and is an excellent train station. The retail component, however, has become mostly a lot of cheap food and souvenirs, not so different from TC now. Cheap food and kitsch is what the tourist-travelers are looking for and the pedestrian-unfriendly Station has not been successful at drawing other traffic. I'm not sure that is TC's problem, however, and the growing downtown population probably makes TC a different case. When's the last time you were in Union Station? https://www.unionstationdc.com/pdfs/directoryMap.pdf

Not to mention they ruined the Marshall Building (Schofield-style) years before tearing it down.
