John, I love old houses too. I'm sorry to hear so many of those houses were gone or in poor shape. Posting pictures from Flickr is really easy. This is someone else's image I found that gives all the needed instructions. posting from flickr to the forum by boaty_granny, on Flickr Flickr has changed a little since that was made but it is still basically the same. All you do is go to the specific photo you want to post from Flickr to the forum, find a little arrow to the bottom right of your photo (it's the share button). Choose what size of the photo you want and make sure "BBCode" is selected" and copy that code. Open a reply on the forum and past that code. That is all that's needed.

Some pictures of the Butler County seat taken on two separate days last August. The first time with ColDayMan, the second on my own. I really only covered the central part of the city. 4. When I first saw the Dispatch article about this I was worried they were basically going to bulldoze the whole business district and replace it with a monolithic development like the South Campus Gateway. I was relieved though that it is really just a framework to guide redevelopment. I do think the hotel and public parking structure would be a good addition to the area.
  5. Nice collection! I like their Sister Cities signage.
  6. Like I said they have been doing some kind of utility work around there for a while, and I didn't see any project signs saying what exactly was going on, but yes there is even more activity there now. I got a few photos but there isn't much to be seen.
  7. A news article that basically says there is no news. I thought I'd post it anyway. No plan in sight for Olympic Swim Club
  8. Clintonville getting Chipotle-style Vietnamese restaurant The article is only a few sentences long, but luckily they took the time to explain the name.
  9. Thanks, I came across that discussion when I was looking for info. It sounds like they are both intended for that same area, not necessarily the exact same site. Either way the article about the Sports Medicine Center says they hoped to open in 2015 so even that is not going as quickly as hoped. It will be interesting to see if there is news about either of these in the spring.
  10. Pretty, but I'm read for Spring!
  11. Has anyone heard anything more about this? The announcement was a long time ago and then nothing more was ever written about it from what I could find. I mostly ask because for the better part of a year it seems they have been doing utility work (I think that's what it is) around the area the arena was planned for. I don't know if it is related or not. I just drove past and they are actively working today. It looks like the are probably digging up the tanks.

This one is a little warmer. Old Franklinton Cemetery by Eridony, on Flickr
  13. I appreciate that! Mostly I attribute it to the good weather I had. I always try to take pictures when the weather is nice, but I had truly exceptional weather for this trip. As for the conversation about downtown Pittsburgh being dead in comparison to places like Cleveland I have only been to both of those cities once, but the Downtown Pittsburgh was busier on the Sunday I was there than the Saturday I spent in Cleveland. That's really anecdotal though and I enjoyed both cities.
  14. I was lurking on the Columbus Underground message board and I saw that Dick's Last Resort is going to open in the Arena District. Here is an article from the last year about the possibility. It sounds like it is a sure thing now. http://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2014/08/13/dick-s-last-resort-looking-at-arena-district-spot.html

  17. So there is a construction cam for the museum. It looks like it actually died about a month ago, but it is still worth posting because if you press the play button near the top it brings up a cool time-lapse video of the construction. http://oxblue.com/open/CMA
  18. I don't really care for the look of the facade, but I do like the live/work concept and the “market alley” that runs through the building.
  19. Thanks for the reply and link to your Washington photos. I hope to get back there again and see some more of the town, especially the college, but who knows when I will end up that way again. As for that depot in Coraopolis when looking up its history I did read that the current owners have a plan to turn it into a cafe but it doesn't sound like they have the needed funding yet so we will have to see what happens there.
  20. Too bad this project is going to take longer. They are making good progress on reducing the building to rubble.
