Delaware County: Developments and News
Eridony replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionRight next to that bridge in my previous posts Mt. Carmel has announced an outpatient center. Almost as soon as it was official there was a ground breaking. Mount Carmel adding wellness-focused outpatient center in Delaware County Not much to see yet, but they are starting to extend Graphics Way to access the site. I have attached a map. The large road there is US-23. The Mt. Carmel site is the top center of the map. I work in the large building shown on the right of the map so I will probably have a regular view of the construction progress.

Delaware County: Rts 36/37 at I-71 / Northstar Developments and News
Can anyone explain why the City of Delaware would get any of the tax revenue? It isn't even close to the city. Is Delaware providing water or sewer?

Non-Ohio Light Rail / Streetcar News
From the article it is not a ban, but would require voter approval to use money towards a light rail line.

Columbus: Italian Village Developments and News
Eridony replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI like the idea of Kerr Street Place, but I don't like the design. At least from the Russell Street side there is too much empty wall space. I don't care for the rendering of the new project either. They also look boring.

Columbus: University District: South Campus Gateway
I really like that corner building and was afraid it would be demolished eventually. I'm glad it may be saved. I think we are seeing the merger of the Short North and the Campus Gateway.

Doniphan & Van Buren Missouri
Well I never spent too much time in any but they are rural, low population communities that don't have a lot of money in them. I don't know if the region is as poor as Appalachia though.

Columbus: Clintonville: The Deco / Olympic Swim Club development
This needs to be clarified. The northern 2/3 of Clintonville is the part full of elderly whiners. South of N. Broadway is NOT a similar neighborhood to the northern part, and really shouldn't be lumped in the same neighborhood commission as them. Zip code 43202, while it is only half in Clintonville, (and also half in Old North Columbus) is the second densest zip code in Columbus(behind 43201), and is the third youngest zip code (behind 43201 and 43210[which is OSU dorms]). Yes, the southern third of Clintonville is DENSE and YOUNG, and has urban-minded people living in it. Okay, but the southern 3rd isn't showing up to development meetings. It's pretty clear who's in control of that, and that's the Clintonville that's at issue. I happen to live in Clintonville (43202) and would love to be a pro-development voice at those meetings, but work a crappy job and am normally not available to attend the meetings. Maybe I could voice my opinion via e-mail?

Columbus: Downtown Developments and News
Work seems to be going slow on the new townhouses. In fact no work was going on when I took these pictures on Monday afternoon. Still there has been some progress since the last update.

Columbus: Clintonville: The Deco / Olympic Swim Club development
I know, one other thing the article mentions as a "concern" is issues with the sewer system! Is the sewer system at max capacity right now that it can't handle one mid-sized apartment building?

Gas Stations - Old Photos
I have many new pictures of old gas stations, but the only vintage photo I have is this one. Boyd's Uptown Service at the corner of Clay Avenue & Second Street in Muskegon, Michigan (1920s?) Intersection of 2nd and Clay by Eridony, on Flickr

Fire Stations
Thanks! Cool! Here is a short series from my home town of Muskegon, Michigan. A central fire station was built downtown in 1930. The building still exists but it could not handle some of the larger modern fire trucks so a new central fire station was built a few blocks away about 7 years ago. A couple of historical shots of the old central station. Fire Stations
I have a lot of pictures of fire stations in other states. I guess it doesn't matter if it is outside of Ohio? I'll start though with one I just uploaded. This was Engine House 16 in Columbus, but is now the Central Ohio Fire Museum. It was built in 1908. Engine House 16 by Eridony, on Flickr Engine House 16 Tower by Eridony, on Flickr

Wow, where was that building?

Doniphan & Van Buren Missouri
This area is in the Ozarks, so I don't think there was ever really a time when they had a lot of wealth.

Columbus: Downtown: 250 S. High Street
I haven't been downtown much lately but I was at the Scioto Audubon yesterday and the progress 250 High has made is striking.

Columbus: Clintonville Developments and News
Eridony replied to Summit Street's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionThe cleared site for the Raising Cane's. I didn't know there was an old house back there. Also, the second image is of a new Wright-Patt credit union across the street in the Graceland Shopping Center. It seems they are moving into the Columbus market in a big way.
