Covington, Kentucky - April 2014
Thanks! I've only recently found out about Mainstrasse. It is an area I will definitely have to visit next time I get the chance.

Thanks! Yes, I've actually seen that building but don't have any pictures of it myself.

First Visit to Cincinnati - April 2014
My love of cities is really the only reason. I moved to Ohio last summer for a job but I spent so much time at work I did very little else. This year I am working less (although still a lot) and have been exploring and photographing on my time off. I've made it to around 30 Ohio counties this year. Places like Cincinnati require multiple trips to get to really know, so I'll definitely be back. Cool! Shoot one of us (or me) a PM beforehand next time and we'd probably be more than happy to give you a quick tour. Thanks! ColDayMan gave me a tour last weekend. I'll be back for more for sure.

Grandview Heights: Grandview Yard
Eridony replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionI took a lot of shots yesterday. Too many for 1 thread due to the attachment limit. So I will make several posts of them over the next couple of days. I will start with the least interesting. Sidewalk construction and a shot of the big empty middle of the development that will be home to the Nationwide buildings.

Columbus: Clintonville: The Deco / Olympic Swim Club development
Wow, I love that artist rendition. Although I do fear that being in Clintonville it will be declared too tall and be reduced to 1.5-stories.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Wow, it looks like you put a lot of work into that! I like it way more than GE's initial rendering.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Seven at Broadway
I also got a shot of it this weekend. From the freeway.

Columbus: Random Photos
Thanks, but credit should probably be given to KJP since I stole the idea from his Cleveland thread. I just hope other people participate.

Columbus: Franklinton Developments and News
I saw it from 315 and had to investigate.

I found it interesting that Land-Grant's first exterior sign of renovation was the installation of 2 large windows.

Columbus: Random Photos
Last night I saw the Cleveland random picture thread and I thought it was a good idea. I did not find one for Columbus so I decided to make one. Hopefully there are enough Columbus area photographers to make this work. The idea is simple. This is a place for people to post one or two photos (instead of a long series) taken in or around Columbus. I'll start out with a shot I took last fall.

A summer evening walk around the Wick Park Neighborhood
Some great old homes in that neighborhood from the looks of things. Some need some TLC and it looks like one is getting it. Thanks for the photos!

Covington, Kentucky - April 2014
A contact on Flickr mentioned that first building looked like a Woolworths. That second one was absolutely a Montgomery Wards. If you look along the top of the facade you can see the Spirit of Progress. This is it on an old Wards store in Three Rivers, Michigan.

Covington, Kentucky - April 2014
I think a streetcar line along Madison and then crossing the Ohio and meeting up with the new Cincinnati system would be awesome. I think it would probably be the first modern streetcar line crossing a state line. That of course would increase the number of roadblocks for such a plan.

Covington, Kentucky - April 2014
I liked both. There aren't many cities I don't like. However I would also saw I enjoyed Covington more. It has such an intact business district! Some of the buildings seemed a little run down, but they are still standing so nothing is stopping them from returning to their original glory. There are some great homes too!

True it is. I've run across that a few times in my travels actually, but I've always found it strange.

First Visit to Cincinnati - April 2014
Thanks for the feedback everyone! I've already made that visit back in June, but like Cincinnati is takes me some time to get around to posting the shots. I'll definitely be creating a photo thread for that city when the time comes.

Marysville / Union County: Developments and News
I know this is out of date but here is a shot of the new city hall from my visit there a year ago. I'm really posting this as an excuse to ask a question. Does anyone know why the central business district in Marysville is referred to as "uptown" and now downtown?

Delaware County: Developments and News
Eridony replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Central & Southeast Ohio Projects & ConstructionA bike bridge is being built across US-23 in Orange Township near the library. the modular pieces have been assembled on both sides of the highway over the past few days. Tonight as I write this they are installing the pieces that actually cross the highway. Also as a bonus update sprawl is continuing to consume more land in this part of the county.
