  1. More updates for the Joseph development.
  2. Some updated shots of the Fireproof Building project.
  3. This is my first photo thread. Lets see how it goes. In April I took my first trip to Cincinnati. I parked in Covington, walked to Newport, and then walked to Cincinnati. Newport was a cool town. I know I missed a lot but I hadn't expected to spend much time there at all. First the courthouse drew me away from the river and then Monmouth street followed until I found myself walking away from Cincinnati and had to turn around. The courthouse Monmouth Row Monmouth Street I had to turn around at this point Stained Glass Theatre Monmouth Row again The grass was in Newport There are a few more I didn't post that can be found at my Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/eridony/
  4. Still not much going on with this boring little building, but I live nearby so here are some more pictures anyway.
  5. I visited Dayton for the first time today and took these pictures. I guess this must by the new PNC building.
  6. If they do a development on that site I really want to see at least a 2-story building there. No more of this 1-story crap. The only positive thing I can say about those renderings in that second article is the buildings are built up to the sidewalk.
  7. So the rendering for Land-Grant Brewing is on the previous page, but no one has posted a shot of how the building currently looks. When I was there yesterday it looked like construction workers were cleaning out the inside.
  8. These aren't the best shots, but it is hard to get good views of such long buildings. This is Taylor House on the site of the old Bethel Road Kmart.
  9. Not being from this area originally there is a lot of general history of this neighborhood that is unknown to me. I went back to read the first post of this thread which was 10 years ago and was about the completion of the Franklinton Floodwall. I knew about the floodwall of course since I've seen it many times, but what I did not know about was the moratorium on building in Franklinton for decades prior to the wall being completed. The first posts in this thread talk about the opportunity to redevelop the neighborhood. Now it seems 10 years later that is finally happening with so many projects announced in the past year. One change coming is the demolition of Sunshine Terrace. Construction fencing is up around the site so it looks like the building will be coming down soon. It will be exciting to watch all the changes in the next couple of years.
  10. An updated shot of the hotel I took during the UO meetup
  11. For anyone who doesn't know the site this is the current building. I like the current building, although it will be nice to have a building without a parking lot in front of it.
  12. Some good info in that article. The site plan shows their office buildings and parking structures will essentially fill in the middle of the Grandview Yard development. The hotel is a nice addition too.
  13. Some shots from last Friday
  14. I know it was boosted by Comfest, but when the UO meetup people got on the CBUS it was standing room only. Many of the stops had people waiting that couldn't get on because it was too crowded.
  15. I'm not sure what its use was but there was a red-brick building by the old municipal power plant when I took this picture last year. When I was walking to the UO meetup on Saturday I saw it was gone.
  16. Some Orange Barrel construction updates from Friday and Saturday.
  17. I just joined the group. I'm at http://www.flickr.com/photos/eridony but I'm behind on uploading. Most my shots I've been posting have been from last year.
  18. Nice to meet everyone! Here are some shots of the group
  19. Doesn't NRI own the undeveloped land west of the railroad tracks in the Arena District? It would be cool if they built a new office building there to kick off the redevelopment of that area.
  20. This will help fill a lot of undeveloped land in Grandview Yard. Another 600 works in the Arena District will be nice too.
  21. I thought that long and narrow piece of property in the upper right-hand corner looked crazy so I looked on Google Streetview to see what was there. Nothing is there. It is pretty much all gravel that people drive across to go from 10th Avenue to the rear of their houses. I would have never guessed it was a separate piece of property.
  22. According to Columbus Underground the idea of a mixed-use development at the corner of Goodale and High Street has been abandoned. :-(
  23. I don't know if any work is being done to the building now. I took this shot last summer and it looks to be in the same state as in that photo.
  24. That area seems like a good place for development, helping bridge the area between campus and the Short North. From reading this forum though I thought the South Campus Gateway has been having trouble keeping its retail space full. I do think new residential projects would be in demand though. I'd love to see the buildings in Summit Street's posting be renovated instead of replaced. That Zane building is cool.
  25. I would be nice if the new station had a more urban design such as living quarters above the truck bays.
