  1. ^ It amuses me that this low-income housing project looks better than anything Geis has built.
  2. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it due to a conflict. Thanks!
  3. I'm fairly confident that at around the 4:36 mark we are heading east on Carnegie. In that portion of the clip, off to the left you can see the back of the building that still stands at Prospect and E 46th, and eventually on the right you can see the terra cotta building that still stands at Carnegie and E. 46th, and I believe that is Warner-Swasey hulking in the background.
  4. It looks like Dan introduced Geis's architect to the cutting edge concept of appropriately sized windows. Baby steps!
  5. Nothing wrong with the middle house, by all appearances... https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/2929-W-14th-St-Cleveland-OH-44113/33337539_zpid/
  6. I, for one, have never seen this view. An occupied Irishtown bend and the terminal building.
  7. ^ Not to mention the constitutional requirements. Even during the pandemic, in-person court proceedings continued, and the limited exceptions to that were quickly lifted after the pandemic because open courts are required. I would add that the multi-billion dollar enterprise that is our local legal system deserves a headquarters too. The legal industry in Cleveland (like health care) punches well above its weight nationally, but (apart from the federal courthouse), is basically centered around a dirty toilet bowl.
  8. While our transit systems may not be up to snuff, Cleveland's road network is certainly built for a LOT more people. Who knows, maybe in a decade or two we will be reversing our current preference for road diets.
  9. Geis could bridge the funding gap....
  10. Site of Saucy Brew Works.
  11. I'm not sure its Cleveland's fault, or the former residents' fault. Cleveland was stable, and people nonetheless fled to the suburbs and the draw of the new. Block busting and redlining didn't help.
  12. Where was the rapid cars picture taken, do you think?
  13. ^ Looks very Geisy. And that ain't a compliment.
  14. The entrance to the shack now has glass.
  15. ^ Embarrassed to say, but this will actually drag me out of the westside.
  16. The tower's final curtain wall is going up.
  17. By happenstance of owning a neighboring property, I know the owner. He actually does want to sell. Please, Lord, let it sell to someone with deep pockets for development!
  18. I *think* the exterior elevator has been removed.
  19. Just because, I *think,* the building is going to cover their parking lot and the old frat house to the left of it, and they will totally lose all visibility and direct access from any street.
  20. I will chain myself to those trees before I let them come down.
  21. Then my office mate who said he tried to buy lunch there has lied to me!
  22. Superman filming. The Heinen's is closed today.
  23. Rite Aid is leaving Ohio and Michigan, not just this store. I talked to the pharmacist and was told this location was the second most profitable location in all of Ohio. I suspect another drug store may well take notice of that and snap up this property. That said, its a total bummer. I've been going to that store since the time there was also a CVS across the street.
  24. Those are pics from my party! Small world.
