  1. I agree. Its been static, and looking pretty darn good, for awhile. I heard that the real impediment to reuse isn't the church, but the bath house condos next door. They do not want a bar in the space, which basically makes it a white elephant.
  2. Can the city give Haslam a $1 lease for the muni lots on game day and call it a day?
  3. I know there's a lot to say about this picture, but does anyone know the name of the pretty big building located where Reserve Square is today?
  4. Not really historical, but apparently a might-have-been for the Guardians of Traffic pylons.
  5. If there was ever a place for a bridge cap in Cleveland, this is it^
  6. ^ That sucks. Doesn't even look that rough.
  7. I hope its a Fresh Market. They're in growth mode, but typically are around 21,000 sq. ft.
  8. Does anyone know why this development site -regardless of developer- always seems married to the "plaza" fronting Detroit? Is it simply because the old hospital had an equally unused green space there?
  9. Maybe just me, but I think the whole thing is pretty hokey. I wish they'd kept the birch tree garden.
  10. ^ Thanks, so much, for that pic. Love it when they are enlargeable. You can get lost in that pic.
  11. My hot take, unfortunately, is that it is likely permitted under the Act if the municipality allows it.
  12. I hope the City hammers them. It's total BS.
  13. I'm assuming that this will soon be a ceremony to mark the removal of the jersey barriers. Finally!
  14. I went with a buddy to view that house. It's nice, but as his wife said, "it's not a million dollars nice."
  15. Do you know if the mansion is being redone for the purposes of resale?
  16. I believe it is the Cleveland Sports Commission (a separate non-profit corporation), rather than Destination Cleveland that is making the big gets.
  17. Did a little more digging, under the U.S. Courts Design Guide, adopted by the Judicial Conference of the United States, public parking must be "adjacent to or outside the courthouse," while "Judges’ parking should be located in a totally enclosed area under the building."
  18. I, personally, am quite doubtful that a giant public parking deck will be permitted directly beneath a courthouse. I've been to a lot of courts, and I have never seen public parking under a courthouse. Oklahoma City.
  19. From the Marriott website: "he Renaissance Cleveland is currently undergoing a full transformation. As we prepare for a new hotel and new brand in 2024, the lobby has been closed to the public and the front desk, bar and breakfast restaurant have been temporarily relocated to the first floor." I happened in a couple of weeks ago, and literally you have to go under (to the right of) the main stair well to enter what, long ago, was their breakfast room. That is where the front desk and "bar" is now located. FWIW, I'd skip it until they fully re-open.
  20. Thanks, but I have another holiday party that night.
  21. I moved to Cleveland in 1991, and I am pretty sure I actually drove, once, on the Columbus Road viaduct. I think it came down shortly after...
  22. I like it so much now, I fear I may not like it with cladding....
  23. Honestly, it doesn't look that much different today than the June 16 picture above....
  24. Yes. Benesch moved to Key this Summer.
