Cincinnati: Downtown: Development and News
Here's the business courier with a rendering: http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2016/10/07/anderson-birkla-to-redevelop-building-along.html Hard to tell where the garage is. "Birkla said the plan is to build a six-story parking garage with about 200 spaces. "

Cincinnati: Walnut Hills / East Walnut Hills: Development and News
A friend of mine had 2236 St James under contract at one point but the inspection came back with so many problems that she decided to walk... this from a house that was recently renovated. The renovation was not done well at all and this is why you see it still on the market and with a price reduction. Because these guys couldn't get the renovation done right the first time my friend decided to walk rather than have them fix all of their mistakes.

The Business Courier's take on the Anthem Development: http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2016/10/03/massive-residential-project-planned-for-anthem.html Sadly, it includes this: "The team is still studying the possibility of street-level retail."

I would place a large amount of money on a this getting a project based TIF that pays for a garage.

Vandercar did the awful Oakley Station development (right?) so I don't have my hopes up...

That's not entirely fair. If I recall, there was quite a backlash when Olive Garden wanted to open in front of the new Kroger. It wasn't Olive Garden... it was Tilted Kilt. And there was no such backlash when a Chick-Fil-A was announced.

KC's streetcar is always free, for now.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
50,646 opening weekend riders. • Friday, Sept. 9: 18,141 passenger trips • Saturday, Sept. 10: 17,160 passenger trips • Sunday, Sept. 11: 15,345 passenger trips KC had 32,326 on opening weekend. Over the 4-day labor day weekend KC had 42,913. Not a bad start! We could go 16 days with no riders and still be ahead of the projected daily ridership. Looking forward to seeing the numbers after a full month of service.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
http://kcstreetcar.org/ridership/ Looks like KC got 12,000 on day one and 14,000 on day two. Third day, a Sunday, it dropped of a bit to 5,500. Highest single day of ridership was 15,780 a couple months in.

Cincinnati: Mayor John Cranley
Completely untrue. Two other unions negotiated contracts and received raises. The other units were going to receive raises, just not as high as they wanted, so they cried to "mommy" aka John Cranley, who wants their votes and money in the next mayoral election.

So even before the UC advertising was announced the advertising revenue already surpassed the $140,000 budget. At $300,000 sold, net ad revenue is $186,000. Still waiting for the naming rights announcement...

You're right. You can get a small glimpse from the 3CDC rendering. Doesn't look like it will end up super appealing.

Hamilton County Politics
Pretty much the only way large reforms like this happen is when there is a preceding scandal of some sort. There was massive corruption in Cuyahoga County that prompted the creation of a new county charter. (http://www.cleveland.com/countyincrisis/)

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
The most recent figures I can find are as follows and are for calendar years (so only a few months in 2016): 2016 Advertising: $40,731 2016 Streetcar Naming Rights: $49,729 2016 Station Naming Rights: $40,688 2016 Total: $131,148 2017 Advertising: $139,650 2017 Streetcar Naming Rights: $170,500 2017 Station Naming Rights: $139,500 2017 Total: $449,650 2018 Advertising: $139,650 2018 Streetcar Naming Rights: $170,500 2018 Station Naming Rights: $139,500 2018 Total: $449,650 Keep in mind that Advertising Vehicles keeps a percentage of the revenue (I think 30%) so when they say we're over $300,000 in advertising, we're actually at $200,000 net (I believe). Still far above the advertising projections.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
brian korte replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionI agree with JYP. I'm not concerned about those specific spots closing or Main St. As mentioned, Original Thought Required closed for personal reasons and Cincy by the Slice was the worst, and a net positive that they're leaving so something else can take their spot. Urban Sites will have new restaurants in the old Mixx space and the building next door at 12th/Main. Once they finish with the upper floors of the three buildings across the street (Drinkery/Japps) there will be an influx of new office users to Main St. And they're finalizing the apartment spaces above where Camino, Allez, and Cheapside will be bringing more residents. This is in addition to the already mentioned Camino and Cheapside spot. A new bakery, Allez, will take be next to Macaron Bar. Collective is moving and expanding to the corner of Woodward/Main.
