  1. These are totally different and very cool and will without doubt get tons of great attention, obviously the affect will be lost on many but that's not shocking at all.

My jaw is on the floor that a local reporter, think his name is Chrisy Fedor is predicting the Cavs lose the series?? WTF? I can't believe this loser would actually be such a DIXK to even think about making a statement like this and Cleveland.com would print it? My God does anyone else think this is just unbelievable? Who is this Loser?

  4. OMFG can someone please shut this down over the stupid discussion over the roof of this one structure? It's just amazing how Clevelanders can focus on one little thing that will MEAN NOTHING TO ANYONE versus the big picture that this will be a vast improvement of a public area. GOOD LORD!!!!!
  5. I love it! Just reading all the negative comments on here means that this public art installation is something very "Different" and probably a really cool thing for Cleveland and from what I see will be fantastic. Bring it on!
  6. What proof do you have that this development is "Dead in the water"? Do you have inside information or has there been something reported to back this statement?

Yes I read it... I'm just saying there are certain facts we know: 1) Paul threatened to leave if TT signs the QO and 2) TT rejected the 5/$80M and 3) Tristan's an unrestricted free agent next year when the money starts to really get crazy... and, oh yeah, he's from Toronto... Maybe the rumors to fill in the gaps are B.S... But all I'm saying is that, given these 3 key facts and given that Tristan is still the lone holdout, and a mighty piece for the Cavs with training camp less than a month away ... btw, the PD is reporting the Toronto factor today. They are reporting the "Rumor" Like you!

  9. Because many people, hmmm hmmm, don't have much vision past their noses and asking them to look much further is futile...
  10. Oh Please listen to all of you! Are you all genuflecting as you leave the confessional? Have you ever heard of "To each his own"? This person has balls and good for her/him. How in any sense is this affecting any of you in any way?

I wouldn't hold your breath for that on this site! Being Positive? Having confidence? Hilarious.

I don't care about anyone's theories or reasons as to why the Cavs will lose, statistics, injuries or whatever. It's real obvious this is going to be tough for both teams. I am so proud of what this team was able to accomplish and all I can say is GO CAVS, I'm IN!

Wow and based on the excitement on this site you would think the St. Ignatius badminton team made it through to the semifinals. Good Lord there is more energy about this win and the Cavs in California ???

That was such an obvious cheap shot by Olynyk, you don't hold on to a players arm and twist it like that to keep him away from the ball. That is ridiculous that anyone thinks it wasn't intentional.
  17. I think those look pretty damn cool. Why does it matter if they don't integrate with the rest of the style of the houses in Tremont? The pop and contrast makes it even more interesting. I can't believe people already are condemning these as future slums because of the use of some materials. What proof do you have this would even be the case here? Cleveland has great old styles of houses from the past....the past.....but those can live next to new styles just fine.
  18. That is such a weak argument that just because Cleveland doesn't have a local station that plays alt or new rock that the city can't support the Odeon. I live in San Francisco and the local radio sucks and there is no problem with having too many music venues and I would think it will be fine in Cleveland too only because many people don't get their music from just local radio stations. People have options like Sirius or one of the many other options for music? I don't know many people here that listen exclusively to local radio stations. It just seems like another "concern" that always pops up in Cleveland about practically everything. I think it's awesome the Odeon is opening again and the area will have more music options.
  19. Good Lord is this discussion boring!
  20. I sometimes wonder if websites are passe anymore. Try their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Hingetown What does this tell me about this "owner created" district? Not a damn thing! Only that someone came up with a name and hash tag I think these are fair and reasonable questions. [*]What is Hingetown? [*]Why the name "Hingetown"? [*]What relation does "Hingetown" have to the greater Ohio City neighborhood? [*]Who are the stake holders? (Do the city, CDC, Real Estate developers, business owners and residents, etc. agree this area should be named as such?) [*]What are the exact borders of "Hingetown"? Can those be answered by reading the website you provided or Facebook? As a PR/Communications/Marketing person, I'm all for branding, but has this moniker been executed properly? I'm all for thinking outside the box, but where can anyone find any concrete information about Hingetown? I say this because the Freshwater Cleveland blog post was more informative than the "Hingetown" website and Facebook Page. Why does anyone owe you or anyone else any explanation or provide you with any documentation? if someone wants to buy a lot of property, invest a hell of a lot of money, open what seems to be new thriving businesses in an area that needed it, and they want to call that area Hingetown they have that right. If people like it and it catches on as a sub neighborhood of Ohio City then all the better. Having to check in with everyone and make sure they are ok with it are ridiculous. If you don't like it don't hang there.
  21. I'm somewhat stunned at some of the complaints on here about this campaign. If you look at it with some perspective and whether it will send the right message to the intended audience, which is not most of you, it really works. I showed it to a bunch of people here in California and the overwhelming response was very positive (most had little first hand experience with Cleveland). I mean who cares if they used some shots from the Case video, if it saved money so they could make the larger project better then great!, or if they didn't get a pic of RTA or the beach?? I mean in the big picture this is a good thing, Cleveland has so much to offer it's extremely difficult to put it all in one video, that's a good problem to have. It's like looking at a beautiful nude and focusing on the tiny zit on her thigh versus the big picture. Nothing is perfect and won't make everyone happy but look at it from a larger point of view. I'm sure Positively Cleveland did their due diligence when selecting the right company for this campaign and to me they did a great job using local talent when they could. I have no idea but did local companies do the previous campaigns? Cleveland Rocks, Plumb? If so I would say there isn't a very good local track record. Plus getting some outside the area fresh objective ideas and energy is probably a good thing in this case. From the very beginning people were jumping all over this when all they saw was one possible page of the campaign and all of a sudden it's the end times. From a purely outside perspective Clevelanders have a horrible half glass mentality which is one of the biggest obstacles for the region and not sure how that is going to be fixed except for an influx of new residents who don't have all the baggage.
  22. I have no desire to take this forum off topic but have to respond to this horribly offensive post. My family has lived in the San Francisco area for over 100 years and although every city has issues these attacks are completely out of control and inaccurate. It's flabbergasting and sad that people from Cleveland would stoop to this kind of hyperbole considering Cleveland has been on the losing end of this type of bogus commentary for a long time. I really hope others can see through this person's obvious axe to grind with San Francisco. It's good to have honest discussions on these forums but people need to be called out when it goes over the line and is misleading. With all its issues San Francisco is most likely still the most desirable, beautiful, exciting and unique cities in America, and even the world. Along with this kind of fame comes the haters and believe me this C-Dawg persons comments are not unique or something new. We have lots of problems to tackle here in San Francisco but it's pretty much all due to the insanity of how popular this city is and the crazy depths people will go to try and attempt to live here. I would love to debate every crazy comment about San Francisco this poster makes but I have to head home now and it takes me forever to step over the endless streams of urine that is seemingly everywhere in San Francisco! Please, to the good people of Cleveland, don't buy into this crap. I know you must cringe when you hear the negative attacks on your city, this is the exact same thing. Rise above it.
