Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Is there a project or vision/plan with more potential impact on the city than this? Maybe the Lakefront long-term, but this feels much closer to being reality, with more pieces in place already.

Cleveland: Duck Island: Development and News
Would be especially frustrating in this case because A) the proposed building fronts very few other residential properties and B) it seems as if at least 3/4 of the housing in Duck Island has been built (or redeveloped) in the last 10 years.

Cleveland: Scranton Peninsula: Development and News
Yes, I think it was their first U.S. location. It's in outer-suburban Columbus, and in addition to a pretty substantial production facility, they have a brewery/restaurant on site, as well as a boutique hotel that is beer and dog-themed. It's pretty cool, though it loses points in my book for being 25 minutes from downtown Columbus.

I like Kerry, but I don't think it's the end of the world to have a council President that is not a part of Bibb's camp. Hopefully they can work together, and check each other when necessary.- Cleveland Mayoral Race 2021
Well my prediction of a close election was... not good, lol. Did not see Bibb winning 80/20 on the east side, but probably should have given Kelley's awful performance there in the primary. I'm hopeful that Bibb will help bring some meaningful improvements to life in Cleveland.- Cleveland Mayoral Race 2021
Just looking at turnout numbers so far, I think this is going to be pretty close. Kelly getting a big turnout in his bases of West Park and OB. Vote totals in Bibb's base (Ward 3 and 15) are a few-thousand behind. The west side in general may end up only ~2k behind the east side in terms of raw vote.- Cleveland: Ohio City: Irishtown Bend Park
The same David Bowen who claimed the Metroparks would chase him out of his house on Lake Ave because of a sidewalk? I look forward to him being replaced by the new Mayor.- Cleveland Mayoral Race 2021
I have also seen Reed all over town for years... have to give him credit for at least not being asleep in his office. I thought his Burke proposal was worth listening to as well. From a purely strategic perspective, I think Reed moves the needle more than Jones. His center of support (south-east side of Cleveland) has higher turnout than Jones's.- Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway: Battery Park
Yes, they've started digging foundations there for what will be another cluster of for-sale townhouses, which I think are similar in design to those that are directly north of this plot.- Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Sounds like good news, though still very early. The Lake corridor has big potential, especially if a couple dominoes like this begin to fall.- U.S. House OH-11
The notion that outside money is responsible for Brown's win is grating, and shows disdain for voters and their agency. In an election with 15% turnout, I think the few that voted had a pretty good idea of what they wanted.- Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
That is awesome news about Nature's Oasis moving in. Great addition to this corner of Ohio City, and cool to see a local business expanding there.- Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
Sorry if I missed this, but did they outline what Phase 1 entails? Are the renderings above for all phases, or just the initial phase? It's a tough balancing act because if too much cost gets heaped on the airlines, then they'll either cut flights further, raise ticket prices drastically, or both.- Cleveland: Mayor Frank Jackson
Funny how this is reported with more depth by a national outlet than any of our local media.- Amtrak & Federal: Passenger Rail News
Tower City clearly seems to be the best place for an Amtrak station. I really hope it's feasible/realistic. It funnels the entire Cleveland transit network toward the Amtrak station. I'd accept the proposal for expanded capacity at North Coast, but the disconnect between transit and that location would reduce the potential impact for both Amtrak and RTA.- Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Looks like sanity may be prevailing around the Waverly&Oak / Azteca discussion... https://courbanize.com/projects/wandoak-/updates/28467?utm_campaign=update&utm_medium=email&utm_source=sendgrid- Cleveland: Ohio City: Bridgeworks Development
I may have missed this in the earlier versions, but I like the potential for the 4 micro-commercial spaces. Hopefully that would keep rents reasonable enough to attract local tenants.- Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Curious what they have in mind for those "Greenways", and how substantial they would be.- Cleveland Hopkins International Airport

Any chance the Brew Stop lives on in the ground floor of the larger building?- Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Yeah, that makes sense... it's just going to be hard to beat that location for me. I'll float the "Armstrong Laundry" building on 76th and Lake in case someone from Banter is reading 🙂- Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
They have been working on that property for a long time. This doesn't quite make up for Banter closing next door (I'm not sure anything will), but it's a start. I've ordered their coffee off their website and it's pretty good, which means it'll be the best coffee available for a pretty wide radius in this location.- Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
Thanks Boomerang for the great notes! Interesting to hear that CLE is doing better in this environment than other Ohio airports. I wonder what is driving that, or if it's just a comment based on an informal discussion? Also nice to hear that they at least have the RTA in mind as part of the Master Plan discussion.- Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Article mentions a 2025 timeline for actually starting construction, so it's still going to be awhile, but good to see some movement. - Cleveland City Council
