  1. http://www.cincinnati.com/story/money/2016/09/27/kroger-eyes-site-new-downtown-store/91161218/ Great news if this really happens!
  2. That would be ideal. I know in Pittsburgh the inclines are a big attraction. In a perfect world we would have another streetcar on W 8th in East Price Hill that stops at the top on the incline in addition to one on Warsaw. The one on Warsaw could merge onto Glenway then turn on Rosemont to get to W 8th. Once it turns around at the incline, it could turn on Elberon to get back to Warsaw.
  3. Any thoughts on what would be the best way to get up the steep grade to the top of Price Hill? Tunnel? Follow Glenway Ave? I think the best option is to go from Glenway to Wilder to Warsaw. The potential for development on Glenway Ave from W 8th. to Warsaw is not nearly as high as taking it on Warsaw due to Glenway being on the edge of the neighborhood. Plus, on Warsaw you go right by Kroger.
  4. The Courier is reporting that The Banks turned away a "mega-retailer". It's subscription only, anyone know what it is?
  5. I'm sure there's a good answer, but what are the advantages for doing two smaller buildings vs doing one 29 story building?
  6. I would guess potential tenants at this point are going to wait until this time next year to make an announcement since the area should be quite a bit busier on a regular basis.
  7. Just a reminder for anyone interested that the meeting is tonight at 6pm at the Incline Theatre. I'd be there, but I have to work. On the news they showed a couple of proposals. The cheapest being lights put on top of the old supports with a projected cost of $250,000. The most expensive being a gondola system that from what I could tell would be a city wide system. No cost mentioned lol. They also said there is a proposal for a smaller incline like what they have in Pittsburgh.
  8. But that would be incredibly expensive. Plus, what do you do at either end? There aren't a lot of places to visit or things to do at the top or the bottom. There isn't anything to do at the bottom of the Duquesne incline in Pittsburgh, just a parking lot and road. It was very crowded when I went on it. At the top is just a few restaurants. Plus this is something I'd do in 15 years or so when the area will be in much better condition. Anything else is just a waste of money, really.
  9. I don't think it should be anything other than an incline. It would be a great tourist attraction like in Pittsburgh.
  10. Does anyone know how long I-74 will be funneled into one lane when merging onto I-75 south?

$35-$40 sounds like the actual number to me.

I've read that oil has to drop below $35-40 for the fracking industry to be seriously affected. Oil hasn't dipped to that level for a meaningful length of time, yet.

The federal government will not be providing any money for Wasson Way http://www.fox19.com/story/30385333/wasson-way-project-wont-receive-20-million-grant
  14. I'd be all for that, especially if they added a Metro Plus line. I have my doubts, though, that a route on Harrison would get enough ridership to make it worthwhile. The buses on Glenway always look empty as it is. Maybe just a Metro Plus line would be the best option. I could see a lot of people using it for Reds games, etc.
  15. Kroger planning another Cincinnati-area Marketplace store http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2015/10/01/kroger-planning-another-cincinnnati-area.html Looks more and more like Dent is the new Western Hills. A "real" (standalone) Starbucks also just opened a couple miles down the road. Then there's also the bike trail that they will begin work on next year.
  16. When is the last time you visited Northgate Mall?
  17. Does phase III include the area between Elm and Race?
  18. Completely agree with this. It's sad that death has become so removed from society. A funeral procession is a very minor inconvenience. And it's hardly a blip on the radar compared to other traffic issues the streetcar might face.
  19. I know the snow plow trucks knocked a lot of them over when getting the snow out of the way. Maybe it's just temporary until they get some all new ones or find a better way to divide the bike lane.

Love me some Brian Wilson. His new album is out April 7th.
  21. I really hope this project can get done. It would be really cool to be able to ride my bike from my house all the way to downtown.
  22. Aren't we due for a winter update video?
  23. What makes you think this wouldn't spur development on the Ohio side?
  24. The Bridgetown Brew Works should help jumpstart things once it opens.
  25. Yeah it's really good! It also reminds me of Pi (I got the Maplewood), which is partly why I mentioned it.
