Cincinnati: Downtown: 580 Building
I went a week ago and it is pretty good. But I don't think I'll be going again anytime soon since I like the Incline Public house better and the prices are cheaper. Plus I get a great view of the city.

Cincinnati: High Schools
Have you asked him where he wants to go? And if sports is the most important thing I would go to Elder in all honesty.
-
Cincinnati: High Schools
I graduated from Elder in May. It really is like one big family there and sports are held in a very high esteem. I did not run track, but one of the coaches was my physiology teacher and he's a really cool guy. The students love the other coach as well. I also had two of the wrestling coaches as teachers. One for algebra and again sophomore year for trig. The other one I had for physics. They are both great guys as well. As you might imagine the sports scene is very competitive. If you have anymore specific questions, feel free to ask or message me. :-)

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I didn't think the food was too bad, but the prices were beyond ridiculous. My dad and I both got burgers and fries with a drink and the bill was $35. And we didn't even get the full menu that was listed online.

Cincinnati: Interstate 75
...and there was much rejoicing. I was so relieved when I drove over it this morning. Now I don't have to worry about being late for school anymore.

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
I've heard it's possible to drive the 300 miles in so little time..... When there's no traffic. Or when the road is dry. Or when the highway patrol is on break. But can you do it for less than $100 round trip? And can the car help you make up for that lost time the way the train can? Like get any work done enroute? Or catch up on sleep? Or stroll to the cafe car for a snack/meal/soda/beer/wine? Or arrive refreshed? And while Cincinnati lacks a 100+ mph train to Chicago, your competitors in St. Louis, Springfield, Bloomington, Detroit, Ann Arbor, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek and elsewhere are all getting 100+ trains to the Midwest's economic capital city. Meanwhile you are forced to drive to Chicago from Cincinnati unless you want to fork over $800+ to fly. Competition. It doesn't just make companies better. It makes cities better, too. I should first clarify that I am not against this. I would love to see it happen. I also understand the case for it when it is a business related travel. Most people aren't going to need to go on business trips to Chicago, though. Yes, I've made the trip multiple times (but not driving) in about 4 1/2 hours. And at this time for under $100 as well. But the main thing I'm asking is how is it taking four hours if the train is traveling 110mph most of the time? I know you will probably have to make a stop in Indianapolis, but it shouldn't take that long.

The Business Courier article says it would take four hours to get to Chicago. Is that right? Just going by Google maps I can get there in four hours and 20 minutes by car.

West Side movie theater getting $1 million upgrade http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2014/09/04/west-side-movie-theater-getting-1-million-upgrade.html  Every Westsider knows a renovation is long overdue for this theater. I saw the exterior was being repainted recently, so I figured something was up. Plus there have been rumors for over a year that it would be torn down or renovated.

Cincinnati: Brent Spence Bridge
Probably because it's more than 5 miles to reroute the trucks around I-275.

Cincinnati: Western Hills: Development and News
No idea. But I would suggest whoever moves in asks the stop light at Federal and Glenway be adjusted so there isn't any traffic jams. It literally lasts no more than five seconds before changing to red again. I also forgot to mention that there is a Potbelly Sandwich Shop moving in where Taco Bell used to be.

Cincinnati: Western Hills: Development and News
This thread has been dormant for a while, so I'll give some updates. Most of it isn't actually in Western Hills, but a lot of the posts in this thread haven't been related to Western Hills anyway. -A new Planet Fitness is being close to being finished on Glenway where the old Red Lobster was. Just more shuffling as there is already one in where the old HQ was. -A new bike trail will be built along the old rail line starting just past Ron's Roost and will end at Veteran's Park on Harrison Ave. If things go well it is expected to be expanded. -At the intersection of Westwood Northern and Harrison, a "lifestyle center" will be built. It will include Dewey's, Tom + Chee, Graeter's and First Watch. A small two story office building will also be on the site. The bike trail will run right behind this for those of you unfamiliar with the area. It will open on April 1st, 2015. -A new subdivision is being built where the recently closed Hillview golfcourse is.

Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
LAW 21 replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentCouldn't find an article for it, but WLWT just reported that Mahogany's is getting a new menu and general manager. The new GM used to be the GM of the Maisonette.

How big is it going to be? If memory serves the Great American Tower only took about 24 months to build.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Can someone explain why it would take "16-17" months to build a hotel?

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Great news! The whole city will gain a lot of momentum with this decision. It's going to be great when the all star game comes here next year and all of the out of town people see all of this new construction going on. Just wish the streetcar could have been finished by then.

Metro Cincinnati: Road & Highway News
Wow, they are really starting from scratch with this one. Doesn't surprise me, though for reasons helm stated and the right lane quickly went downhill and is full of bumps. Have you guys noticed that the repave just after the Winton Rd. exit already has flaws in it? I know we had a rough winter, but other interstates were able to manage.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Fourth & Race (Pogue Garage) Redevelopment
How long is the lease? I don't see why they refuse to move. The developer is even offering to pay to move them. I just don't get it. Its Cranley's way or the highway. Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems to me that all Paragon has to do is move and then the project can proceed.

You really should make the trip down to the park sometime. It's very wheelchair friendly and I'm sure your wife would love it.
