  1. I don't see the park going west of I-75 for a very long time. And years ago I couldn't vision it being where it is now. But at the rate I see this City changing its character, I wouldn't predict No on west of I-75. Why should the westside not desire to be blessed with the same level of luxury the downtown and eastside already have? As I said, this is a unique opportunity for Cincinnati, a several mile riverfront park anchored by a riverboat traversing its entire length. If you want to dream, Dream Big. Over 2/3rds of the park already exists. What is another 1/3 if you are saying come to Cincinnati and enjoy the greatest riverfront park system in the US? It is right there for the taking, what makes Cincinnati unique in the country. Which is why I said for a very long time. There is pretty much nothing to do in that area and people aren't going to start going there just because a park is built. As jjakucyk said, you don't want to spread the park users too thin, either. Sawyer Point is already underused and that area has more going for it than the area around I-75. I'm a westsider and I can't deny that the westside is slowly declining. Other things need to be done before a park in an empty part of the city is built.

  3. Some actual numbers that show how Cincinnati's economy is improving. http://www.pittsburghtoday.org/view_economy_job_growth_view1.html
  4. Watch her trot back to talk radio saying... -nobody was riding them -they made all kinds of noise -tons of homeless spending all day on them -there was some development but it looked like it was going to happen anyway -city is not providing basic services because streetcar taking up too much tax revenue etc., etc., etc. I bet seeing the Portland Streetcar firsthand is helping to change her mind, but she will never publicly admit it. Agreed. IMO I don't think she was ever against the streetcar as much as Cranley is, but it is still way too soon for her to change her mind on it publicly.
  5. Right now we're projected to be a 4 seed and could potentially play Wichita State in the Sweet Sixteen.
  6. A coincidence (or maybe not), I just heard a piece on WLWT that there are talks of upgrading US Bank Arena. It would cost at least 80 million. "Hundreds of thousands of dollars" are already being spent to add 1,000 seats.
  7. That really was a worthless article. Nothing to back up his opinion other than one of the restaurants being told they have to vacate. Honestly it would get an F in the journalism class at school.

Reds sign Homer Bailey to a 6 year, 105 million dollar deal. Should have been more like 85 million IMO.
  9. Hopefully they can easily beat UCF. UC always seems to play to the level of the teams they are playing.
  10. A new arena would be nice, but money needs to be focused elsewhere at this time. I think we need to finish the Banks and work on putting in more light rail before a new arena could be considered. We will not be getting an NBA or NHL team for a long time, so the thought that a new arena would bring a team here is ill advised at best. I'd say we'll see a new arena around 2022 or so. As for where to put a new one, I also think by Union Terminal would be a great spot. Have a streetcar line run to Union Terminal so people can go elsewhere downtown without having to pay for parking twice.
