In spite of all the PC there is in today's world, there is still a physical attraction men have to women. There is no denying it that a pretty woman, or maybe women in general are going to be looked at, not to mention those that are dressed seductively. Men will always look at women differently, and speak to women differently. Men will always HOPE that a woman notices him, even if he has no bad intentions. As far as politeness, that's how I was taught, especially to woman; tip your hat, hold the door, help with packages, help little old ladies across the street. Maybe the casual good morning comment that my mother taught me was to make myself appear clearly non-threatening. Recently, when a woman thanked me for something and said, you didn't need to do that, I told her that I had too, or my 90 year old mother would yell at me. And she would, too, she does that a lot!

NFL: General News & Discussion
Jockeying for position is not pulling the receivers arms down. But thanks for sharing your wisdom. The plays I am referring too are, in my opinion, illegal contact, but as you know my opinion is usually wrong.

NFL: General News & Discussion
^ I know exactly what you mean Seattle is just a bit too cocky for me. Anyone else notice the obvious pass interference occurring regularly? The new rules prevent even touching beyond 5 yards, and it seems to be strictly enforced. Yet on many pass plays, defenders hit arms, stick hands in the face, and it doesn't seem to be called. In fact, the announcers seem to defend it on replays. In the Dallas game, a defender stuck his hands in the face, pulled on his arm, all with his back turned. The announcer says after the replay, "That was a good no call, I didn't see anything worthy of a flag", and it was all right in front of him.

Cincinnati Bengals Discussion
Not sure what point you are making by bringing up baseball stats in the Bengals thread. You'd best look at the 2013 NFL attendance stats which have the playoff Bengals at 25th in the league out of 32 teams. Oh, where are the lowly Browns with their losing record, you say? Only 11th!

That will be good for everybody! In general, the US can be very welcoming, and much more tolerant than other locales.

Sorry TommyD, I thought you said you were looking for a diverse neighborhood. KGP and Surfohio, I was just going by the census numbers. I'm happy to see the diversity. I don't care where someone's from as long as they are good people. I don't know anyone from Nepal, so I'm not sure what you mean, other than they are good people. I guess my all while neighborhood of Cleveland that I grew up in was more diverse than I thought, Germans, Italians, Poles, Ukrainian, Chech, etc etc.

Lakewood doesn't seem to have the diversity he is looking for. http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/39/3941664.html

Cleveland Browns Discussion
^ yes, they have a long way to go! I still can't figure out why they didn't get at least take one field goal on those 4th downs. I do feel better after watching the Bengals in their typical playoff form!

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
This route would definitely benefit from a train. Parking alone in Chicago is the reason not to drive.

The same as for pizza deliverymen, if you know what I'm getting at. Just be careful, there's a difference to someone sueing you for their pepperoni being stuck to the top of the box, or being in your car and getting T-boned by a truck! http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2014/04/critics_of_uber_and_lyft_raise_questions_about_insurance_and_safety.html#incart_river Critics of Uber and Lyft raise questions about insurance and safety CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Thinking about summoning a ride home via a mobile app service such as Uber or Lyft? Not so fast, cautions the Ohio Department of Insurance. The popular apps made a huge splash when they expanded into Cleveland late last week, but a growing number of people are asking questions about their business model, their insurance coverage, and their track record in other markets. On Wednesday, Ohio Lieutenant Governor and Insurance Director Mary Taylor issued a consumer alert urging people who become drivers or passengers of transportation networking companies like Uber and Lyft to consider the potential insurance implications of that ride.

I am interested in how the insurance works when using a personal car for a livery service. Especially concerning personal liability insurance.

What do you do about insurance?

If so, that's a sad commentary on UO posters! Oh well, you are probably right!

Rivalries are the essence of sports. Would you say the Cleveland/Cincinnati rivalry since the NFL merger in 1970 has been bad for the state? What could really be said on an AFC North thread that could really hurt anyone? If something is inappropriate, someone will report it.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Sorry, I thought you meant the traditional west end destroyed for 75.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
The demolition of the West End came long before the current destruction of Price Hill, Westwood, etc. These neighborhoods were vital areas long into the 70's and 80's. There has been displacement in OTR long before the streetcar. That was one of the things Buddy Gray used to fight about. Once he was murdered, no one resumed his battle.

NFL: General News & Discussion
According to the broadcast last night, the NFLPA is about to vote on stricter drug laws concerning PEDs in exchange for lighter substance abuse penalties. They think this will affect past suspensions.

Cincinnati: General Business & Economic News
Little Italy in New York is reduced to about 2 blocks. Little Italy in Cleveland has a few Italians. OTR is German by nature. That's its history!

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
I don't understand why everyone is so upset. Without Phase 2 or 3 or 4, would you expect the streetcar to be operational on a Tuesday night in February at about 10 or 11pm? Would you really expect the city to foot that bill?

^ Again, I was just using his quote as a guide. I assumed he meant each end and the middle of the route. From his quote I didn't know about the Liberty and Elm stop. I'm sorry, Its been a long time since I was in Cincinnati. You do however, raise another question. If the entire route should take 15 minutes, will it really take 10 minutes to get one block from Elm to Race?

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Thanks for your estimate. I didn't know the car capacity. I had taken the Liberty and Race comment from your earlier post. "One Streetcar is arriving at 2nd Street stop, one is departing the 12th & Vine stop, and one is boarding at the Liberty & Race stop."
-
Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Just curious, assuming a crowd waiting for the streetcar on 2nd, what would be the expected travel time to Liberty & Race?
