  1. I guess the Tyvex was from a previous attempt! I thought it was new! Glad they chose renovation at the place around the corner!
  2. While a blood alcohol percentage is specific, it certainly is no indication of the effect that concentration might have on any given individual. That affect of that level in a relatively young person in great physical condition would probably be extremely different than in that of a middle aged man in poor health. Regardless, until the NFL bans alcohol, I'd say kudos to the player who ONLY tests 0.9 at 3am! Certainly doesn't mean the problem will get worse.

Personally, I was glad he left, and really didn't care for him since he wore the Yankee cap. I took that as an insult to all Cleveland fans. Loyalty is most important to me. I don't really care now, and him coming back isn't a guarantee of a championship. He didn't win it here obviously, and he didn't win it every year in Miami. I'd like to think that the NBA is bigger than one player, and I'd much rather have a team which won it in spite of James not coming back.
  4. One either has a prescription or he doesn't. Easy enough for one to show proof of a prescription, not as an excuse, but as mitigating evidence of his stupidity for using a banned substance. The NFL needs to address its rules about banning perfectly legal substances used correctly.
  5. It seems like he has a bigger problem with intelligence than drugs. If the Browns and the NFL want to ban him for stupidity, then that's their right. I really don't care how smart he is, as long as he can catch.
  6. I was just trying to come up with a reason for the need to change. Maybe people who have lived there a long time are just more comfortable with such things. You're not saying that someone who has spent a lot of money has no right to worry because they haven't lived there long enough, are you?
  7. There is a lot of beautiful new construction and rehabbing going on in that area. Maybe a property owner became concerned.
  8. I always cheered for the Indians on F Troop!! This shows the ridiculousness of the entire argument! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpGfyp6MxkM
  9. Even in my short time here, rarely do I see someone admit they were wrong!
  10. Its a mythical creature which identifies with only a specific ethnicity. One would be hard pressed to prove that it did not refer to the Irish.
  11. No, not really. One can't quantify the number or % of those offended is all I'm saying. If one believes its offensive, then who is he to judge if a person of Irish descent is or is not offended by the Lucky Charms Leprechaun? Isn't it just better to do without any caricatures?
  12. That's another reason the Indians made a conscious effort to remove the remainder of Chief Wahoo's body from any licensed products. They used to have images of the bat swinging Chief ala Municipal Stadium on a number of products. We use caricatures every day in our lives. One can't believe that the chief is offensive if he doesn't accept that any other caricature is offensive to someone. That's the tipping point. No more caricatures in commercial products. As for the name, the team was respectfully named after a player.
  13. Should Italians be offended by the use of the Mario Brothers? How about when your pizza box has a caricature of a short Italian with a floppy hat and mustache? How about the Irish and the Notre Dame caricature of a leprechaun? On a side note, anyone see the Wendy's commercial where the people can't talk because their mouths are full, and the spokeswoman says, "Now I understand why Italians speak with their hands!"? Wendys should do a commercial where they say, "Eat here instead of your favorite Chinese restaurant because an hour later you won't be hungry!" How far can we take this?
  14. I believe the proper term is SHOOFLY, or shoo-fly.
  15. That's not true of the young professionals I know. They would much rather go where they can best use their training and expertise. It validates their education.
  16. It's not as simple as that. New hires probably make up a small percent of any major company. There are many employee surveys hashing out preferences. I'm sure its highly valued and considered, but in their minds (I didn't say mine), and even in the companies minds, I'm sure they think that they are offering benefits that outweigh having to travel downtown. You can't deny the facts that the desire to working and living in the suburbs might increase as people age. The trick would be to convince them why its better to live in the city.
  17. Don't know what version of TurboTax charges for worksheets. Mine doesn't. Maybe the cheapest one does, but I don't know. If you owned numerous apartments or buildings where the income might require quarterly payments, I guess you would need to file and pay quarterly. For a small number of apartments, the amount of income probably isn't great enough to require. You would need to look into that. TurboTax has a program to calculate that. As fas as your example about electric bills, you would add them into your expenses as you do your taxes, the same as you would for your expenses of calling a plumber. As I said before, your income (all total) will decide whether or not those expenses would be deductible this year, or at some point in the future when your income is lower; or when you sell the building. You can search for your questions, or go to Turbo tax for explanations. If you're not comfortable, it might be best to speak to a CPA or tax preparer and let them do it for you. Good luck!
  18. The definition of hearsay is something you've heard, with no information to back it up. Calling something hearsay is not snippy. Clearly, you don't have any answers to my simple question about facts. No, I have nothing personal about Progressive, I just don't like when someone takes a cheap shot and can't back it up. I never said I was surprised by your support of urban. Where did I say that? I was confirming that fact, and I said it was fine. No surprise. I think you just dislike anyone questioning you, or asking for facts on a blanket statement.
  19. No, its not snippy. You gave no facts. Sorry, I guess I'm still learning the rules of when I can have an opinion. As far as the subject, clearly you are more pro downtown than suburbs. That's fine, but give some facts. It does us no good to say how disappointed they were, if they still took the suburb job. Just an opinion.
  20. No, I wasn't on the trolley. I don't doubt that they weren't dissappointed. Just wondered if it affected the hiring process. No reason to be snippy, I'm just asking questions a good reporter would ask. You are stating a fact, and I'm just wondering if in the end, they actually changed their minds. You changed to topic, not I.
  21. I wonder how that actually played out in the hiring process. What are the facts? How many had they interviewed; how many had they hoped to hire; how many ended up turning them down; and how many did they end up hiring? Sorry, it all sounds a lot like heresay to me.
  22. Not to mention the high interest rate! Where can you get 5% these days?
  23. Looks like you are paying it! I would just make it an annual payment made on the anniversary date. You would probably need to claim it as income if it is in an interest bearing account in your name, but then you could deduct it as expenses for the property.
  24. Do you do your own taxes? If so, Turbotax can take care of everything for you. Not sure about actually having to pay interest on deposits, never did that. Not sure what taxes you are referring too, the property taxes will still come to you, or escrow, or however you have it set up. Yes, you will need to itemize expenses, and depending on your income, they may or may not come off the current year's taxes. If not, they are then carried over until a year that they can be expensed, or the building sold. The available expenses are VERY numerous. Don't miss out on anything. There is some good, free, available programs to look at.
