  1. I was at Pour yesterday and I was really impressed. There were three (yes 3!!!) espresso flavors, and the place itself is awesomely set up. There are some nice comfy chairs as well as cool wooden ones. And the tables had plug sockets built into them so you can hang out and get some work done. Plus the people who work there are very knowledgeable and friendly. Perfect place for a cappuccino! And a great location adjacent to the always awesome Hodges and the Colossal Cupcake place.
  2. Construction at the Butcher & Brewer yesterday .....
  3. Hi Guys, yes, I do add a couple of Instagram presets. Partly necessity and partly choice. There's a lot of shadow downtown so I like to show as much detail as possible in what I take. so I select one preset that does that. The other, probably the one you don't care for, adds some color saturation. That's just a personal preference I have. I am a huge fan of all things Cleveland and I like the vibrancy it adds. I feel a lot of untouched pictures of Cleveland don't really do justice to the grandeur of the city and how things really looked to the naked eye. That all said, I totally understand and respect why some people may look at my pictures and think they suck. But hopefully there is a value in posting them. I actually don't take the pictures for the purpose of posting them to urbanohio, but I figured that given that I enjoy reading all the postings on this site that I probably needed to give back and post some of the pictures I take. Go Cleveland!!!!
  4. Wow, Sunday Market at Hingetown was awesome yesterday. Incredible vendors and an amazing street vibe. Just the food alone made it a really special event. I believe the next one is set for June 22. Great concept by Scott Rose: Brunch style food truck. How cool is that! www.offthegriddle.biz
  5. Just for variety I took a couple of pictures looking down St. Clair westwards. The hotel photographs best looking east, but it still looks nice from the opposite direction. The trees you see lining the side of the building mark the entrance to Penton Media, so it's very well maintained.
  6. When the sun is out E 9th is starting to look awesome. It's amazing what a difference the Geis brothers are making to the street. Is it my imagination or does the concrete on the parking lot look like it's been power washed? It almost looks ok!
  7. I was down E 9th yesterday and took some pictures of the Schofield building. The beautiful red brick is something else on a sunny day ....
  8. I was at Urban Farmer last night (great food btw). Here's a picture of their entrance from inside the hotel (the big Prometheous head is very cool) and also a picture of the kitchen, which opens into the restaurant.
  9. Westin Thursday night Urban Farmer Thursday lunchtime
  10. Hi Everyone, I was driving down Scranton (awesome road btw) on Sunday and stopped to take some pictures of the Creamery development. I didn't realize till I walked up the hill what great views it has of Cleveland. Yet another fascinating pocket of Cleveland.
  11. Hi Everyone, I drove down Scranton on Sunday and was amazed to see the progress of the towpath. It's really starting to look nice now. And when everything grows in it will be delightful. This is an area that could be absolutely amazing one day ....
  12. Cleveland marathon ended at The Mall today. I caught the end of it, so missed the big crowds, but it was still fun right to the end, and Cleveland was the star of the show. Great to see The Mall being used like this. So cool ......

Yep, I am downtown this morning visiting friends and watching the marathon. Perfect weather for it today.

And one more pic of the marathon that really shows off how pretty our glorious city is ...

Cleveland marathon going through the Flats today. They must have an awesome view of the city ....
  16. On Friday I was by the Westin and noticed that the patio is almost ready and the flags are now up on the flagpoles. I also heard the hotel was completely sold out this weekend - no doubt due to the marathon. What a great start! Btw, how cool is East 6th? Awesome street that is finally starting to come to life .... This is St. Clair in front of the Westin/Urban Farmer entrance
  17. I was in Hingetown on Saturday. The place really has an awesome personality all of its own. An instant Cleveland classic ....
  18. Not sure if this is of interest to anyone, but in Taiwan they think they've solved the issue of having an industrial port and water front parkland live side by side. Though in this case they solved it by building man made hills over the top of the port. Very creative solution that would work great in Cleveland and would allow the Port Authority to stay where they are. Ummm, but it does look like it would be very expensive to build! Here's a link to the article announcing the architectural design competition winner, and I also included some pictures of the winning solution -> http://www.designboom.com/architecture/junya-ishigami-port-of-kinmen-passenger-service-center-competition-05-13-2014/
  19. Apparently, this was the inspiration. Looks really nice. My only question would be why they wouldn't cover the entire parking deck in something like this. I've seen a lot of really nice parking decks where adding cascading metal transformed the entire appearance. Especially when it gets to shimmer in the breeze.
  20. In case you haven't been down by the Mall recently, it's looking nice and pretty well maintained. Obviously could use someplace to sit and drink and enjoy the view. But hopefully it won't take will 2016 for that to happen .....
  21. They actually had welders working on the stadium on Sunday. Looks like they are prepping everything for the new scoreboards coming in (has to be soon, right?). Oh, and the Browns shop was open in the stadium and they are all sold out of Manziel shirts. Go figure! The people working in the shop said the phone had been ringing from the second they opened up the store.
  22. I meant to also post these pictures yesterday too. The first is a north facing view, which I think looks really nice, to my eyes anyway. I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea. But I think it's a huge improvement ....
  23. Walking down by the Lakefront today and saw that the transient marina is almost complete! Not sure it isn't getting any press, but I thought it looked wonderful!!!
  24. I also noticed they have added the metallic looking siding underneath the bridge too - starting to look much better now ....
  25. Looks like they added three flagpoles outside the Westin. Nice touch .....
