  1. Not Oakley or Northside, but Clifton Town Meeting and the Clifton Business Association already balked at the BRT station on Clifton Ave. https://www.facebook.com/groups/civiccincinnati/posts/3085585701588452/
  2. The Obey Giant on the subway and the one on the Crosley building appeared about the time he was in town for a 'get out the vote' thing at the CAC at the end of 2024. I'm betting it was him. I cant imagine one graffiti artist putting up another person's thing unless they were working together. The one on the subway was even tagged over so not everyone was welcoming about it.
  3. It's only real Art Deco if it comes from the Art Deco region of France.....
  4. With those being the same cars the both billboards it looks like both sides of that accident are calling Blake, and he will end up facing his biggest enemy in court.........himself!
  5. Yeah I was wondering too. Seems an odd match to the "Let's make our new office in an old church" demo. The "High tech imaging" part is interesting too, is this a new venture or just a fancy way of saying "Facial imaging Scan ID Checks". I'll admit though, i was hoping some crazy person would buy it as a Mega Mansion/Lair, which is what I would do if I had the cash.
  6. I was in it during the 1990's remodel and graduated right before it was done sadly. The efis was not the designer Eisenman's original choice but the colors most definitely were. The original material was a stone based covering if i remember right not the metal it became. The Efis was settled on to reduce costs and not wanted by anyone except those paying for it. Us students got to see it snowing styrofoam for months as it was carved into shape before sealing. Our industrial design classrooms even went a few months without windows looking into an unheated atrium with a plastic sheathing roof, it was a good learning experience if nothing else. I'm also on team pastel, anything else would be wrong and camouflage the shapes which flow nicely into the hills.
  7. Still sad that Humble Monk got bumped from their space and the cool new spot didn't work out, but a home roller derby track in Northside is the most perfect thing ever.
  8. My reaction too, such a weird place for this. Imagine trying to get ambulances here on a Bengals game day.
  9. Is this a new plan, because there was one pre-covid but i noticed the buildings are marked for sale again.
  10. Does Zada Development still own Heberle? I know they are still advertising speculative lofts on a web site but i'm not sure it is still active. I looked them up a few years back and it was a wild ride. Yachts, European travels, Lamborghini's fancy Manhattan HQ address but all seemingly tied to a small kitchen remodel place on Staten Island......allegedly. Id love to see these two schools reused before it's too late too.
  11. Not an eyesore to me, but I understand why you wouldnt want to rehabilitate an old incinerator. That said I could make that a totally rocking house for 4mil. I'd wear a respirator around. Guess i need to head over soon and get some final pics.
  12. Understood, but you are missing my point. Carew is twice the height of the new tower and they probably arent interested in making the neighboring buildings look correct when they dwarf the feature building. They really dont want to emphasize the setting at all unless it makes their building look better, that is all i was saying.
  13. It is entirely because they are showing off the new building, anything that covers it up gets removed and anything that SHOWS it up gets diminished. Imagine if their new sleek building was dwarfed by the nearby deco glory of the Carew and Omni/Hilton? No more rendering contracts for you.
  14. I thought I heard it got Historic Credits or some kind of funding semi-recently that bumped it back into the news.
  15. The western half of Shillito's has been empty and was never part of the first conversion. This is where some of the more industrial parts of the business were located, like the in house display workshop, shipping/receiving ect. https://kzf.com/portfolio/shillitos-west-redevelopment/ The plan opens it up with many more windows vs it's current blocky mass of brick, & hopefully they replace that part of the copped clad awning that was bluntly chopped off many years ago.
