  1. Sounds like a cry for help on his part. Don't drag an entire city down with you there dude, he needs to take a vacation somewhere or go on a hike somewhere the mold count is low.
  2. Interesting. I was surprised to see several guys working on the interior as well though. Maybe Zada is prepping it for a sale? Based on that site it t looks like this is the only current product Zada has, and the only past project was a bland commercial building? I hope you are right and they sell this for a slight bump to someone who will follow through. Dude looks like he does this as a side job to tell people he is a developer at parties. https://www.google.com/maps/place/690+E+Hwy+50,+Clermont,+FL+34711/@28.5486018,-81.746855,3a,51.2y,21.98h,89.47t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1spZS4K_d56EPTirduWpndOw!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo3.ggpht.com%2Fcbk%3Fpanoid%3DpZS4K_d56EPTirduWpndOw%26output%3Dthumbnail%26cb_client%3Dsearch.TACTILE.gps%26thumb%3D2%26w%3D86%26h%3D86%26yaw%3D25.273514%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i13312!8i6656!4m5!3m4!1s0x88e78eefeda14571:0x5d8ef020c82daca4!8m2!3d28.5490599!4d-81.746611
  3. It's owned by Over the Rhine Community Housing, which is on 14th Street. It's a three minute walk away according to Google maps. Ahhh, thanks looks like my google power was off a bit. I'm sure the neighbors to the 'park' didn't expect that this was one of the ways it was going to be used though. It may be a place for a tent but it has the same problems that all the other places had, namely no bathrooms/showers/privacy or security.
  4. I could be wrong but it appears the owner of that property does not live near there which is a pretty crappy way to help IMHO. I initially thought they lived nearby but did some googling.
  5. If only there were a bridge across central from that garage..........I kid, I kid!!
  6. This was an informative listen from the beginning, but particularly revelant from -11.00 on. He mentions how there are two guys using this as a personal stand for themselves and disappear when the cameras are gone. We can speculate on who he means by the other but one is identified shortly after this clip starts. Hard issue all around but these people surely don't need to be pawns in other peoples quest for fame/recognition.
  7. So now everyone is here on this traffic island?!? https://www.google.com/maps/@39.1084855,-84.5087762,3a,75y,121.3h,87.75t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sMgDJYRpqW19bKl8mF4zZkw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
  8. Another thing to remember is the Promo West venture that has been floated for around here as well. They see this as an area for more than just occasional home soccer games so those opposed shouldnt take the 'well it is only used for x many home games so the streets needs to be reduced' angle because there answer wont be the street diet staying. They will keep the street huge or bigger and claim having more big events as a cure to your concern on 700wlw, knowing well and good that wasn't the concern all along.
  9. ^^^^^ Yep same here. Same predictable Cranley, got to keep the Joseph family & other donors happy and keep them cars a-movin' thru town. Everyone else be damned while i further my political career!
  10. ...and right on cue I went over the bars on Saturday, for the first time since 2003. Ouch. I didn't crack my ribs this time but I came damn close. My mountain bike picked up a sizeable stick in the rear spokes...in the brief instant in which I contemplated the stick shooting out from the bike and wondering if I just broke a spoke I lost concentration in a right turn, hit a very small 3-4" stump that was hidden by leaves, and like that I'm eating dirt. For a second I was face-down on the forest floor wondering if I had broken everything or merely just something. The good thing about mountain biking is that there is at least a chance that you're not landing on rock...whereas with road biking, and certainly with these Bird scooters, you're landing on concrete, which is man-made rock. The scooters are less irregularly-shaped than a bicycle, and so I wonder of the injuries sustained by the scooter itself are milder than the typical bicycle crash, aside from the fact that you're closer to a typical standing position with a scooter. Landing on your own bicycle or having the bike land on you is horrible. Plus, there was a lot of resistance to disc brakes on bicycles because of the fear that the disks would slide into you like a pizza slicer. Ack! I hope you heal quickly, even though you did add another fear to my list of irrational fears. "the disks would slide into you like a pizza slicer"
  11. I see the Taft Tap room on Spring Grove hopping after work quite a bit but i doubt the people who stop in there for a drink after work would go downtown if it wasn't there. They would probably just go to another nearby place after work. Especially I'm guessing all the younger P&Gers up on Este and nearby who fit the demo for casual afterwork gatherings. It spreads out the 'nearby place for drinks' to other neighborhoods and they can capture the business they would have lost otherwise.
  12. Not to start a battle, but a block west is this soul crushing view. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.1020877,-84.5164128,3a,90y,88.62h,113.97t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s8Pj5dRKIa7atbgP5OaYWmg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
  13. Yep originally the end addressed the street much better, but was filled in at some point during a remodel of the dept store area. The original lower hotel lobby was also better oriented for pedestrians but this was also later removed to make it a vehicle entry as was the style of the day. http://www.oxomag.com/terrace-plaza-hotel-cincinnati/biographical-dictionary-of-cincinnati-architects-1788-1940.html
  14. Since we aren't being told where the camp is moving we all get to speculate and wonder so my guess is here at the end of the drive to Adams Landing on Adams Crossing Drive. I cant see it being any further East than this and any closer is back in the CBD so this has to be it. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.1049811,-84.49538,3a,75y,32.48h,92.17t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1slBF0x8WkERo_RYBipJ5ZZA!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo1.ggpht.com%2Fcbk%3Fpanoid%3DlBF0x8WkERo_RYBipJ5ZZA%26output%3Dthumbnail%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26thumb%3D2%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D32.927464%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i3328!8i1664
  15. A perfect place for a larger than normal (for OTR) development and anything will greatly improve the streetlife in that area. They certainly won the FCC location lottery on this property.
  16. ^ Here it is. https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2017/06/21/kenton-county-selects-team-for-huge-nky-project.html
  17. You can probably answer all of those by checking it out here on GOogle maps. It is very visible but will be entirely a county govt building. I can see it spurring some more lunch options on this end of Main st as they are mostly all in the north end. Sadly they only kept the more visible front of the old brewery and tore down the other 3/4 of the complex. I guess it is good that it got preserved in some manner but the new look of it leaves a lot to be desired. I call it the #brewery building based on what i saw in the rendering of the proposed final look. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Cincinnati,+OH/@39.075736,-84.5181535,38a,35y,4.41h,74.82t/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x884051b1de3821f9:0x69fb7e8be4c09317!8m2!3d39.1031182!4d-84.5120196
  18. Yep I see that one. Not any of the others though
  19. My guess is that they only put the immediate buildings and that is the Omni Netherland (Hilton) hotel part and the person who drew that didnt realize that the Carew tower is an integral part. Or perhaps they did and from that specific view it is hidden? Still weird though
  20. I dont think any of that is coordinated. The one and only time my street was paved in CUF where i lived like 17yrs it was ripped up weeks later for new gas meters & lines. Hopefully it was just time for pavement on the schedule.
  21. Is this study from 2016 the one that we are still somehow waiting on results for , or was this one completed and the results not popularized and it is a different one we are waiting on answers for? How can this take so long?!? Also good to see that even back then the Mayor was consistent on his negativity but why the desire to use general funds for it? Perhaps to make it an election issue later on? https://www.wcpo.com/news/insider/downtown-cincinnati-traffic-study-first-in-20-years?page=2
  22. ......it will have a third round wing added to create the worlds largest fidget spinner....... (I kid)
  23. It's lazily designed. Looks like they ripped off the one in front of the Public Library. We all know how great that one is... WOW, that is REALLY similar! Maybe a bit of the new Otto M Budig theatre mixed in as well with the 'lonely people in the corner window gazing at the street below' aesthetic.
