  1. The area around Harrison and Westwood was demolished starting last week, and yesterday they started demolishing the first of the properties they half hardheartedly tried to "preserve" to get some goodwill on their website. Admittedly it was a hard sell as whoever bought them would have to move them. This former Convent is the first of those to go.
  2. An announcement of the bands or if its, you know, going to happen at all? When Midpoint dies off I'll pick up the slack...I was trying to find a park shelter to reserve recently and discovered that you can rent out the Bellevue Hill Shelter and potentially throw a 5,000 person event there (has not been done since the 1950s). So coming in 2018...3 Doors Down Fest. I randomly picked a date, I hope you aren't busy that weekend as once it is immortalized in a crappy promo poster it cant be changed

This one pic isn't Newport at least. The Italianate on the right is on central ave here. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Central+Ave,+Cincinnati,+OH/@39.1110724,-84.5220562,3a,90y,13.66h,91.92t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sN3B8ZouJn3vxTJ_4hwg76g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!4m5!3m4!1s0x8841b6aa6757a445:0x40eddc3bce9d883f!8m2!3d39.1087285!4d-84.5214836!6m1!1e1 Very happy to see some thought into this location and with working using existing historic assets on the site. Wonder who owns this building now? That is not Central Ave. That is a reversed photo of the west side of Vine Street looking from the building with Switch and Incredible Creations north. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.1086698,-84.5148876,3a,75y,195.65h,113.04t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s4JxgajYOtGz9XNdL8HIv5g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 Clever clever... Haha you are right!! I was surprised that they took the time to render the rest of the street intact and remodeled. Work smarter not harder indeed.

Urban Fast Forward is trying to sell two buildings on Central Ave. immediately across from the Taft Stadium, but there are no MLS listings or info on their website. You might be thinking of the $900k sale of an ordinary house in Walnut Hills near the MLK interchange. I heard that from a legit source but I haven't been able to find the sale on the county's site. I'm not sure which street it was on. Found the building I was thinking of. It is a block north but the crazy price makes me think they are in the know, or clueless about real estate. One of those. Not sure where it was in the fourm or who brought it up though. I'll stick to FC from here on out in this topic but this popped into my head when i saw the render. http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/514-Oliver-St_Cincinnati_OH_45214_M32274-66761 I think the price was even higher originally. Still unsold at a half mil.

Didn't Jake have info or a realtor ad on a building for sale in this area of the West end at a ridiculous price recently? Perhaps they are trying to quell speculation.....as i speculate.

Wow! not conservative at all. Looks like Newport in the second view and the West End in the first. Forth view is on a barge floating down the ohio in case a land based location cant be found (I kid).

Oh man! WLWT WAS live streaming the event, despite the shaming by the host to not do that and to keep the info for season ticket holders right now but they must have been found out. Live feed cut off before anything interesting happened. They did say that the stadium was initially designed for a certain site, but they "liked it so much" they did follow up renders of the same stadium design for the other two sites. Looks like we may see a look tonight, but nothing final on the location yet.
  9. Woo Hoo!! I see the neon in the alley ready to go up too, have they turned it on yet? I almost went up Main last night but instead just kept going on till i got to Vine to avoid seeing the Dennison Hotel remains. Maybe this will be a reason to go up Main St again.
  10. Get ready to see this all over the blogs where people dont understand how important the permanent nature of the tracks are to driving redevelopment and confidence in urban transportaion. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/peoplesdaily/article-4565992/China-unveils-track-train-runs-virtual-rails.html. More, "if it doesnt work we just sell it" and spend the money on potholes talk too.
  11. ^^^Someone at the Enquirer has a sense of humor (and good timing) on the streetcar issue. Haha.
  12. New possible project coming to the old Kahn's sight in the future http://www.wcpo.com/news/insider/rhinegeist-owners-want-to-turn-this-empty-camp-washington-site-into-medical-pot-venture. Glad redevelompent is near yet it makes me doubly sad that the city felt the need to tear this warehouse on the site down to make the property 'development ready'. With the Rhinegeist folks in the mix they could have made this place rock! https://www.google.com/maps/@39.1432187,-84.5415211,3a,75y,246.6h,92.17t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sI9ZDJpceirXwJfnG7akdAA!2e0!7i3328!8i1664

What does that have to do with Hipsters? They like Santana and Rob Thomas? They would probably flock to an ironic performance of people impersonating them vs them as themselves i would guess. Where does tribute end and trying to get Manuel Noriega to leave the palace begin.
  14. Holy Pattern Clash Batman! Dynamic indeed! Decor aside i do like the space here, and views amenities and location cannot be beat if you like urban living.
  15. Is this another case of 'give us money/tax breaks or we will move'?

^^^^^ I agree, but if a new location HAS to be built..... The locations all mentioned are a let down as i see it. They seem more like concessions to investors who own the property or nearby property than they are to being chosen for being a good place to grow or even maintain the enthusiasm of the fan base. You would think that with all the work going on at the MLK exit the could find some corner in that vast swath of real estate to tuck in a stadium so that UC students could easily walk to the games and pregame near campus. What about the site of the walnut hills Kroger store? Incorporate the theater lobby on the corner into a new/old stadium and bring life back to Prout's Corner!!!! Use it for off game day programming too of course like concerts if possible. FCCincinnati central with shuttles to the casino parking lot to bring people up the hill and back for pregame in OTR. Everything else will need infrastructure/parking/construction from scratch or require demo of what is left of west end history (maybe) and look to make already difficult traffic MUCH worse on game days. Gilbert ave is way overbuilt for what walnut hills is currently and it even has a direct connection to the new MLK exit on one end and downtown on the other. The current plans have all the excitement in my opinion of the Crewe stadium, a new bland histortless structure on empty land. https://goo.gl/maps/mBaG39tFoGo Moderator Note: Edited Google Maps link to be a short url
  17. True, but it would be nice to keep the old factory/warehouse or incorporate into things just to keep any development there from feeling too new and sterile. I realize the garage over housing/behind housing is a selling point/demanded requirement but it would be nice to see some private courtyards vs parking in all the inbetween building spaces.
  18. I thought so I should have stopped and introduced myself, but i know when im out taking pics of empty places with my cameras the last thing i want is a random guy out of no where surprising me. The brick buildings with the quoins was really well maintained up until this project just like several others like you said. Im not sure if you saw it on another thread, but I found the entry to the funeral home and lives on at 12th and clay in the remodeled facade of the new mens facility. There used to be a part that said CHAPEL above that and i just recently saw it at 3G Stonecraft in Northside which in a random coincidence is owned by my neighbor. I keep meaning to ask if it is for sale. https://www.google.com/maps/@39.1087032,-84.5120577,3a,51.3y,320.28h,91.66t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sPxxbdpL6QxIdz8wu40XKLg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 https://www.google.com/maps/@39.1253814,-84.5587233,3a,40.3y,343.05h,92.19t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sNOQqfNq20aAEkUUW4lB8hg!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo3.ggpht.com%2Fcbk%3Fpanoid%3DNOQqfNq20aAEkUUW4lB8hg%26output%3Dthumbnail%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26thumb%3D2%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D4.868884%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i13312!8i6656
  19. Did you take these last week Travis? I think i drove past you as you walked up Queen City towards Grand Ave. Haha! I was wondering if I'd see pics here.
  20. It may just be preliminary, but i like the small detail of stepping the garage facade back so that the wrapped brick corner of the County building is more visible. Gives the area where the two buildings meet at the alley more interest.
  21. Over in Delhi there is one cul-de-sac that has a public sidewalk from it to the main street and it is so rare to see i was shocked when i drove by it. My house is similar in that it existed by a farm for decades until the farm was redeveloped and a cul-de-sac neighborhood was added in. If I had the money to put a similar connection in for them to get to the main road I'm on I'd do it. Till then, i told the kids back there who have asked that i dont mind if they hop the fence to save them two blocks of walking to get to out. These days i should probably have their parents sign some sort of legal waver though, ugh. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Delhi,+OH/@39.1049103,-84.6202996,166m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x8841ca299bc86dcf:0x2b75114f6dcec6f6!8m2!3d39.0950595!4d-84.6052225 https://www.google.com/maps/@39.104345,-84.6201184,3a,75y,13.6h,86.73t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sbCF7i4fIPA275iqqVtMatQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
  22. I asked the architects when they put a photo of topped out tower on facebook and they said that you can indeed see downtown from up there. I also was there on a really windy day (like today is) watching to see that roof flutter and it was rock solid despite its wing look (haha)!.
  23. For those interested and because they posted upsidedown in the proposal document i stripped out the image and flipped it upright. The grade of the lot is probably causing the LA vibe i bet. Reminds me of my favorite mix of crazy heading towards the Ennis house. The architecture is all over the place but the fact that everyone has a lot with insane elevations makes it feel like a close intimate and cozy community. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Ennis+House/@34.1155691,-118.2940014,3a,74.2y,22.97h,97.51t/data=!3m5!1e1!3m3!1sojAiTz6Zeyfk8Y12kjm-Cg!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo2.ggpht.com%2Fcbk%3Fpanoid%3DojAiTz6Zeyfk8Y12kjm-Cg%26output%3Dthumbnail%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26thumb%3D2%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D28.279724%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!4m5!3m4!1s0x80c2c0a210b2a59d:0x5cc651305232e6ce!8m2!3d34.1161926!4d-118.2927896
  24. Very nicely done re-purpose, keeping the 1 story in the front really add interest to the Elm street facade of the addition and Im not sure but if those are decks would be a cool feature to the residents. That building was a grocery back in the day before it was renovated with the present facade. http://www.hamiltoncountyauditor.org/VintagePhotos/145-0001/Photo1968_145-0001-0051-00.jpg
