  1. Cool! Is that a car parked in the bike lane though?
  2. Sounds like a good name for a Hall & Oates cover band.
  3. Ugh, I missed that part. Yeah, this will be crap. From their website: Funny that there is so much similarity and abundance of parking even they cant tell the projects apart. (look at the last image slide). http://www.vanhold.com/gallery.aspx?ID=100004
  4. Also just across the highway from the Linderland on Third St.
  5. I am actually pretty certain I saw that 3CDC did buy back some of the buildings adjacent to the old Grammars on the east side of Walnut Street. I don't know if they bought the land. We would need to check the auditors site In regards to the old Kroger site, let me offer my opinion and people can chime in, but let us not downsize this like 15th and Race. They need a large parking ramp in that area behind the Kroger, to push re-development to 15th Street East, Moore Street, and Walnut Street, and New construction on the west side of Walnut Street and the south side of East 15th Street in the two gaps, along with new construction fronting Vine off the old Kroger, and the two massive buildings on the SE and NE sides of E. 15 and Vine. This ramp will also allow development in the gaps NW of 15th and Vine and the redevelopment of those histroic buildings as well [/quote My plan I throwing out into the mix if Kroger ever relocates........ Sell off the front/rear parking for redevelopment, but keep the main multistory warehouse building and connect it to the Weilerts building with a new addition to make it the new Biergarten!
  6. There is also a dollar store on Central Parkway for all the lower priced cleaning/beauty/household items. No need to duplicate that a mile away, if they want high end stuff and can pull it off more power to 'em.
  7. I like that they kept the alley with a similar treatment as this one in the West End. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Cincinnati,+OH/@39.1166366,-84.5248916,3a,86.9y,83.6h,114.58t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sIZlXV-spkgWCttFtj5t_NQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!4m5!3m4!1s0x884051b1de3821f9:0x69fb7e8be4c09317!8m2!3d39.1031182!4d-84.5120196
  8. I would go out of my way to shop at the sadly doomed Kenwood Kroger in bad/cold weather entirely because of the garage. After 40yrs of Cincinnati cold, snow and trying to navigate a grocery cart in slush i felt like a rockstar loading the car in the dry warmish interior.
  9. ^ Travis off topic, but just curious if you were flying at the Danger Wheels race this year and had a white phantom drone? I was there with the kids and my Great Dane and it was his first time seeing a drone. He lept at it like it was a mosquito and i was just curious if the drone camera caught it as it would be funny to see. I found this slo-mo of him on line at 1:19 trying to eat a scooter.
  10. Someone needs to propose a 5-story Applebee's then we can watch the chaos it starts.
  11. Although from this angle, a 5 mile steel cable direct to a penthouse level 'arrival station' on the Carew Tower via Wire Mobile seems like a practical method of travel. Perhaps a zip line option for the adventure traveler?
  12. Can someone post the latest rendering again as a refresh? I looked through the thread & google and couldnt find it. THANKS!!!
  13. http://www.go-metro.com/uploads/Mobile%20ticketing%20FAQs.pdf Saw this one the CincyEZRIDE notes (dont know why it pastes all squirrely.) it is at the bottom of page 8 here too. http://www.go-metro.com/uploads/Mobile%20ticketing%20FAQs.pdf Planning your trip Does Cincy EZRide provide real - time arrival information? T he real - time tracking feature of Cincy EZRide is coming soon . In the meantime, customers may continue to use Transit App a nd Bus Detective for real - time information
  14. I know it is a proven thing, but while waiting for the streetcar today I experienced it for real myself. I just hoped that i didnt get one of the metro moves overflow busses because even though it followed the same route as the streetcar the fact that it had tires vs rails made me much more wary of where it would end up. I put little thought or worry into the streetcar itself. just hopped right on and had a vague notion of where i was heading and hopped right off a station early when i saw someone i knew there. I realize it is just a irrational fear but when i get on a buss it requires more planning and thought and awareness lest you end up in far off kenwood somewhere when you just meant to go across the basin.
  15. Possible Enquirer pic of the groundbreaking from out a window on the other side of the building. (I kid)
  16. Ha! There's a "Buy Photo" link in case anyone wants to frame that gem. http://cincinnati.mycapture.com/mycapture/enlarge_remote.asp?source=&remoteimageid=18151477 Photo aprons for all!!!!! Tiny fridge magnets for others. Seriously is the ribbon cutting even in that photo or is it just a 'file' banks photo they use for all Banks stories now to save money on phone memory?
  17. I wonder if it would fall under its own weight if they pulled all those ceiling braces out? I'd always go right to the roof or over to tower place when I had to park there to avoid the feeling i was going to be squashed.
  18. Love the new Rhinegeist ad! Also like that the operator in the back makes it looks like he is driving & looking the wrong way as well as the random legs on the left side of the median. Everytime i see a streetcar that is stopped i look for the red tail lights to see if it is going the right way (and equally that I'm not going the wrong way).
  19. Something to think about also is that while I agree with you on the statement of city life this area used to be full of single purpose, block sized industrial buildings vs the the more mixed and smaller sized OTR area. Perhaps that quiet lack of street action will play well to people wanting a quiet neighborhood free of the outside foot traffic a more street oriented area has. Good to have some variety to satisfy all needs and while the block sized monoliths may be way overscaled and out of place in OTR this might be the area where they make more sense (just wish more of the older industrial spaces survived).
  20. I liked how visible the orange was in the urban environment as this blends into the background more, but that isnt necessarily a bad thing. We could have had this theme...
  21. Not sure when you took this, but the Joseph's parking lot sure is empty.
  22. Until the Streetcar ad buy i never even noticed the logo change. Are these trucks out in the wild already? Wonder if they will stick with the same theme (dots & waves)?
  23. The latest talk on the bay horse was all good news and praise for the look of the interior. You came out of nowhere to drag up a comment from 8 months ago that was negative all ready to slay the poster like Don Quixote. No one is all good, people have faults this is a group that promotes the good projects and sometimes questions why others had stalled. I am for the Bay Horse project I was for the Jackson brewery project, if these and the others get completed all praise to Fred, however in many cases they seem to be good ideas without results in a city FULL of results lately.
  24. Jeff: That's a pretty snide way of affirming a bunch of nasty remarks above. Just to be clear - are you asserting the truth of the statements about Fred Berger in this thread? I'm pretty sure that the partners at Architects Plus would not support you on that. Wow unknown new dude, way to go from 0-stalker real fast. Easy way to win this argument would be to note all the buildings that Mr Berger has rebilitated over the years himself. Saving them from demo back in the day was a real good thing to do when they were in danger, but holding them from being restored in an environment when they are desired and likley to be can be just as bad. Just saying that sometimes it is best to finish what you start when you have the money too. His money his decision, but for those of us who like to see things saved it dosent seem to be the best use of funds that we would die to be able to use. Be chill and comment back, dont be all creepy out of nowhere making threats yourself. It is a pretty day to work on preservation.
