  1. I hope an entire I-Team article isnt based around just that.
  2. Betting it is these guys. https://urineluck.com/ There cant be more than one around here. https://urineluck.com/ We used to work on display projects with them on a variety of design matters as they likened themselves to be a thinktank, invention incubator of sorts. Ended when they got raided by the FBI in 2008 or 09. Dont know why.
  3. Who is and where is this dude with the anti-bus tired trolley sign today? Thanks for this link as it provides my lunch entertainment.
  4. My dumbest real estate move was to pass on this place back in 2004 or 5 when i was looking for a workshop. I chose to rent a place closer to me for 50 a month when this was for sale for like $12,000. I think the mortgage was like $50 a month too. Doh, never even considered living there back then, just a place to work on my truck when i lived in Clifton. Plus i worried about losing my tools to theft that far away and off in the alley. Never would have guessed the turnaround in ten or so years.
  5. If you google image search 'blue and green logo' it is quite overwhelming. 5/3rd even went with the 'orbit' which was popular in the 2000's too.
  6. Hopefully this puts it to bed (again). I liked the yellow, I dont see the world in sports colors, but denying those who say it is steelers colors makes them even more adamant. It appears to be the same. I couldnt find the pantone of the streetcar logo, but it looks like it matches. I love the streetcar, liked the yellow and it will still hang around in the initial (and now collectable) early shirts and literature. I welcome the new blue and green streetcars. ONWARD! (with the Minnesota Timberwolf-TRAMS!)
  7. And f we listened we would get this....
  8. Upon further looking no, the market seems to have been where the convention center expansion is. They sure screwed the streets (and most everything else) up on this side of town thru the years.
  9. ^ I think it may have been, explains the 'middle of the road' location
  10. Poor little guy, like parking garage kudzu vine.
  11. I noticed this past week that there seems to be some sort of project that is hanging a pipe or conduit of the lower deck of the northern side using huge suspension bridge style cables and turnbuckles that hang from the upper deck. Dont know if this is a new thing crossing the tracks or an effort to help hold up something that has been there for a while.
  12. I saw that too. I like how they took the Union Terminal is currently closed for repairs to mean that it is 'so in shambles that it is closed and has a crumbling I-max' with no mention for the reason it is closed. Kinda lazy and seems to make it so the whole article reinforces the narrative of a city that coulda been a contender or something like that. Looks like they put a lot of work into it otherwise traveling here and interviewing, though i doubt the high pressure watermain is "leaking". Props to Jake for putting the time in to keeping them informed as best as possible as i know people who make up subway "facts" are near the top of his annoyance list. BTY rumor is that the subway tunnels are part of the old underground railroad to help escaped slaves (I kid).

This most every night recently and sometimes at work when i dont need to listen. Oddly relaxing, and if i find myself listening to what is going on and get distracted I switch to LAX and the constant meaningless chatter. http://youarelistening.to/losangeles
  14. Since you need to exit I-74 to get to the Delicate Flower Bridge, would it be any more trouble or time consuming to simple exit and cross the Ludlow viaduct? Is this more about expanding Cincinnati State to Millvale/South Cumminsville with the usual Cranley misdirected focus by claiming this is a transportation need?
  15. Cool before and after shot! You even got similar lighting & skies. Makes it look like they got the work done in an hour or two.
  16. Any amateur body language interpreters want to give this photo a shot? From the enquirer and today's press conference.
  17. There have been multiple attempts to do exactly that. It appears that none of them have gone anywhere. There was something called the "landlord accreditation program" run by UC when I was in college. And then I remember hearing a year or two ago about another similar program being started up. The problem is, I don't think landlords really care about being accredited by UC, and UC is going to drive students towards these mega-complexes anyway. Yep there was one in the late 90's early 2000's when i was on the CUF community council too. Lots of talk, went nowhere for the reasons you mention above. By the time the new students learn that there was better they moved while at the same time new people were already lined up for the crappy places. A never ending flood of new renters gives you little incentive to improve.
  18. Looks like they are still two weeks out dude, major bummer. Yo, sorry about that dude stuff the #VERGELIFE must be catching. https://www.facebook.com/LiveAtTheVerge/
  19. ^ Plus i bet these standards are set only for cars. Pedestrian lighting seems to not have really factored into the mix in the past (excluding our wonderful little yellow lamps). https://www.facebook.com/CincinnatiYellowLamps/
  20. I love all the drone pics, really helps get a good sense of these new projects. Strangely, the straight down views trigger some weird vertigo sensation in my head. Don't know why because i'm not afraid of heights or anything. I first noticed it on your views of the parking garage excavation in ziegler park. Weird.
  21. ^ Or in Corryville where the Developer IS the Community Council. A hopeless fight, and one mans vision for an entirely new and condo-ized Corryville without any historic fabric becomes the plan. I'm actually surprised Meckelenburg Gardens is still there to be honest.
  22. According to the Historic Aerials maps it looks like the street was widened in 59-60 and the lot cleared to the size it is now in 68 with the KFC there in 69/70 range. Well before historic neighborhood integrity or design review boards were even a thing.
  23. The old KFC building has been there as long as I can remember and I remember back when it was a KFC. Mid 70's perhaps. Along the same line as the Golden Skillet that use to be at the entrance to the Market at Central Parkway. https://www.google.com/maps/uv?hl=en&pb=!1s0x8841b3f8b3e12663:0x4ae9fd58be262c88!2m5!2m2!1i80!2i80!3m1!2i100!3m1!7e115!4s/maps/place/the%2Bgolden%2Bskillet%2Bcincinnati/@39.1148046,-84.5214059,3a,75y,53.29h,90t/data%3D*213m4*211e1*213m2*211shzpBQg4yNp6ThG-BJIOGng*212e0*214m2*213m1*211s0x0:0x4ae9fd58be262c88!5sthe+golden+skillet+cincinnati+-+Google+Search&imagekey=!1e2!2shzpBQg4yNp6ThG-BJIOGng&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiV8-bvxI_OAhVJLyYKHfDABCcQpx8IXzAK
  24. ^ Despair and Broken Dreams?
  25. If you ever get near the Dennison it might be beneficial to get some roof close up images just to see if anything "funky" was going on up there the week the tarp went up. I'd hate to think that they put holes in it to attach any of the support cables. Keep on flying! I love the updates and the new views of the city. For my own amusement i turned some of your other pics into tilt shift images since the angle and subject matter is perfect for it.
