But yeah, hope it's true. A little rich, but good to have him back in the rotation.

  3. I like that they seem to match the colors of my favorite OTR restaurant in the background. I wonder how much the streetcar will add to their business. Hate to say it, but not as much as if they'd just accept credit cards. There's no good ATM anywhere near there at the moment.
  4. This question is probably best for John. Will our Streetcars have the ability to chain together ala the MAX trains or is adding additional center cabins the only way to extend them?
  5. Makes sense. If you assume that JJ's probably covers the cost of maintenance and repairs on bikes (belonging to either them or employees), they could pay $100+ after only two trips into a shop. With RedBike, you get unlimited 30 minute trips for just $80 per year. Makes expenses far more predictable.
  6. New lead singer for the band, Travis? Not a fan of Cranley, but I'll give him credit for sticking his neck out there with this one.
  7. Interesting. Curious as to the source of the problem though. Sounded like a subcontractor problem. Extra staff wouldn't help that, would it?
  8. I've taken my girlfriend on a number of fancy dinner dates over the years. I have to say - the best steaks I've had in Cincinnati weren't at any steakhouses. Jeff Ruby's and Precinct were okay. Best steak I ever had though was at the Palace. Second best was Metropole.
  9. The expected public response. Privately, I doubt they're that "unfazed" by it. I've read comments from all three commissioners now saying that without UC in the mix, the project doesn't make sense. Aka, zero chance of putting a public funding ballot measure to vote.
  10. If the Responsible Ohio ballot measure fails, it'll be like MetroMoves all over again. Opponents will say it was a mandate that Ohio doesn't want legalization. We won't see something come around for another decade. It's not perfect, but it needs to pass. That's why even the national advocacy group is giving lukewarm support.
  11. WCPO also did a story on the Streetcar Wires & CFD. With a MUCH more accurate title: As streetcar overhead wiring begins testing, CFD working on safety plan Chief: 'We work around wires all the time' http://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/hamilton-county/cincinnati/over-the-rhine/as-streetcar-overhead-wiring-begins-testing-cfd-working-on-safety-plan That's how it should be DONE.
  12. The student turn out at PBS for the season when the football team was down there was strong First two games (maybe three) were strong. Game one was like 8,000. But it decreased every game after. Pretty sure by the end of the season, student attendance was in the 2,000-3,000 range. Which is really terrible by UC standards.
  13. Those are render only. From what I've heard those won't see the light of day.
  14. Dang. Well it's a good thing they built in so much time for testing.
  15. So cool to see it outside. Hard to believe that's going to be on the rails in Cincinnati in a month and a half (if only just for testing...)
  16. Updated Streetcar pics are up... and it looks AWESOME!
  17. Deter's office now announcing the video will be released today.
  18. Average attendance figures across all NCAA sports (and professional sports) has been trending down for years. When you have increasing access to see games in the comfort of your own home, not as many diehards want to make the 30-60 minute commute to and from games, not to mention ticket and parking costs. I'd rather see a game in person, but the trend is what it is. Decreasing seats is the right call. Make the environment more intimate.
  19. Who made that statement?
  20. Looks awesome. Hope it has a private sponsorship financing plan though.
  21. Shame. I actually really liked Smiling Moose.
  22. Probably another restaurant/bar... but man imagine if it was a grocery of some kind. Right in front of the streetcar stop. The amount of ridership that alone would cause (at one end of the line) would be massive.
  23. Yeah, I think most people on here would agree. It's just not a great "front-door", so to speak, for that entire block. Also, it seemed to suffer from the Cadillac Ranch problem of being waaaaay too big. There's a reason that Tin Roof basically blew up and Toby Keith is consistently empty. I hope they either put something in there that warrants that big of a space (read: grocery or large scale retail) or split it up into more.
  24. I got in a day-long fight with a coworker at my old job in Blue Ash because she kept insisting Blue Ash was considered Cincinnati. I gave her a huge number of reasons why she was wrong ("Did you vote in the City of Cincinnati elections or the City of Blue Ash?", "Do you pay City of Cincinnati taxes?", etc). She was convinced she was right because some businesses in Blue Ash were listed with Cincinnati addresses on Google Maps (which is set by businesses on Google Maps, btw).
  25. Hmm, is that why they're selling out music venues all across the country? I've seen them live 7 times. To each their own I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
