Well, you thought you were late in asking the question, this is late! :-D Actually, it was just announced about a week ago. The new downtown convention center is proposed to be a 91,000 square foot structure, and it will be an addition to the existing 1,800 seat Secrest Auditorium. They said the project will be about $18 million.

I was there! What a way to experience my first Browns game! I sat in the Dawg Pound and everyone was having a blast. There was one very vocal Bills fan in front of us, and everyone started chucking snow balls at him, it was Hilarius!

Yea, That wasn't good. Hopefully Kansas is just that good! Overall though, I still think this will be a good season for us. We have St. Johns next in the Rainbow Classic in Hawaii.

oh, just to let you know, If you noticed, there are several large vases infront of various downtown buildings. This is a relatively new project. Downtown has something like 26 artists living and working downtown. Since Zanesville is known as the "Pottery Capital of the World," these artists desided to do this vase project. All of the artists have painted one, and they get auctioned off. They are scatterd all over town, like the pigs in Cincy. Yep, that's it. The exterior is brick with like a cream color stucco trim. The roof is a dark green color. It looks very nice!

Downtown Zanesville has seen some very cool residential developments lately, including a newly built 4 story senior appartment complex. Several other buildings have recently been renovated into appartments as well. Donald's donuts on Maple Ave (SR 60) in Zanesville is fabulous, the best I have ever had! I was there one time at about 6:30 in the morning and a couple from Marion came in. They drove down just to get some donuts from Donald's.

Ohio beats Kent State 17-7! Ohio is now in a 1st place tie in the MAC East with Kent, but if it comes down to it, we will have the tiebreaker!!!! Ohio is now 6-3 (4-1), bowl eligible, and has a "weaker" schedule up ahead!!!!!

Ohio 20 Illinois 17. We are now 4-3!!!!

27-20.... we win over WMU!!!!!!! We are now 3-3 (2-1 MAC) with a road game at Illinois next. Might be winnable!?! Two of our losses are against top 25 teams (Mizzu and Rutgers)

Never apologize for being excited about OU!!! We have Rutgers up next. The Scarlet Knights are a very good team, so we will see what happens. We moved up about 30 spots on SI's Power Rankings. Also, let's not spoil this thread with Athens police news, let's just keep it to sports.

Oh, Yea!! That statue is quite the sight! It is right in the middle of the downtown, and the people there are quite proud of it. If you ever go check it out, I suggest eating at Malinda's, a small diner down the street, awesome food!

People always think that Zanesville is a only what you see from Interstate 70. They don't realize that the city is 13 miles long north to south with major retail centers on both ends, two large hospitals, three industrial parks, a great transit system, and a rather large airport (relatively speaking). This mostly goes for the typical Columbusite who always asks me if Zanesville is on the West Virginia border!

I have just mapped this line out through Muskingum County. I work for the county GIS office. For the most part, it follows existing easements.
