  1. Exploring their options for selling, could’ve been part of this project but it didn’t sound like it.
  2. The Catholics might be moving in another direction as well…. Heard that from someone with deeps ties to the diocese this past weekend.
  3. Birdseye view of Intel, really shows how close this will be to Johnstown.
  4. I’ve had this same feeling, especially when those apartments were announced south of 3rd probably 5 years ago. Slowly but surely, even the autozone looks “good.”
  5. Had a friend send me this picture from the Hampton Inn on Olentangy River Road.
  6. You would think that the building is in good enough shape to just renovate and reuse. But I will say space in that area of campus is super tight. With the public safety building being right there, the rec center and other facilities I could maybe see them tearing down some of the smaller buildings to the south of it and putting all of those facilities under one roof.
  7. I personally used to go to Miani's(Ace of Cups) and Ledo’s back in the day. It was before you moved to that area by a few years. But you’re right, not as popular with students as it used to be and nobody is saying that it’s campus. But that’s not to say many don’t consider Arcadia, Doddridge or Hudson and south to be “campus.”
  8. A lot of people park up that way for games because it’s free and easy to leave. But that being said despite being far up that way many of those bars still attract students and some live there and beyond.
  9. I wonder if OSU replaces the tower at East when main campus is complete? The whole place needs updating.
  10. They used to host at the fairgrounds and the convention center is big enough… but I do agree this would be beneficial
  11. You’ll most certainly see their numbers go up as a result of this and the companies moving into the county.
  12. Good luck with that, Ginther knows where his bread is buttered.
  13. See but that’s not even 100% accurate… Casto, Kaufman and others(including out of towners) have all built in Franklinton. You can’t fault NRI just because they had the capital to risk buying property in the area before the others were able to do so. We don’t know that they weren’t in talks with Mt Carmel to redevelop that are before they bolted for the burbs. Maybe that’s why NRI sat on the old Graham Ford. Should they get their sh*t together and get something going? Yes. I know they have that Marconi Garage and a little bit of undeveloped land on W Spring but once the garage is built for the stadium I’d be hard pressed to believe they will be underutilized much longer. Things take time, funding takes time, approvals, designs, supply takes time. Be patient grasshopper!
  14. I’m not going to argue against progress I just think there’s a half mile between High & Neil that could be redeveloped just as easy. Progress is part of life though but for all major college campus’ to look sterile kind of sucks. Makes me wish I ended up in Athens, Oxford or Morgantown but I digress.
  15. I really hope that Epic land does not get redeveloped. That’s a decent stretch of businesses right there and would essentially kill the rest of campus as it was with little being the only remaining holdout on High. I made the comment when I returned from visiting my cousin at UT-Austin back in 2011 that I loved that our campus had character and wasn’t all high rise apartments. Well fast forward to me being 11 years removed from school and looking for the nostalgia that my older cousins talked about when Gateway replaced their haunts.
  16. The Schottensteins specifically and other old money through shells and direct ownership are the ones you should be concerned with regarding undeveloped lots. NRI has done more than anyone to redevelop downtown. Granted we may not all agree with their choices but the density in the AD is all thanks to them and them only.
  17. I think the eastern half of Polaris could be turned into a “walkable” area if the lots are built out. They need to build a parking deck though somewhere, even potentially on the north and south side to make up for the lost spots and heavier traffic for the increased density. I think they could even get away with a partial below grade with a tall office/mixed use built on top kind of like at Kenwood. *edit to note: there are already two ‘town center-ish’ portions that they would have to connect… right the Dave & Busters and by Kitchen Social.. that Residence Inn doesn’t fit the mold but that could be something they discuss with them if this were ever to come to fruition
  18. Really the only place that’s happening is Nashville & Austin(kind of)… they have tourism and weather… Columbus has neither… The Arnold is really the only non-regional driver of tourism to Cbus… yes you can say OSU football but that’s kind of moot
  19. ALL Crane is doing just fine, they’re one of if not the largest crane rental business in the country(based in Cleveland), so good luck! 🤣🤣🤣
  20. I would assume that’s until they get the first one running and generating revenue. Global supply chains still suck and we need a friendly country to buy the mines here that were allowed to be sold to China.
  21. Bridge Park did everything everyone on here always complains about and remember it is part of a master plan that also includes “Old” Dublin, the bridge, etc. It took an outdated sprawl plaza and turned it into a walkable community.
  22. CH also gave us Bridge Park, so I’d take it easy on the garbage comment.
  23. I’m old enough to remember when this was proposed long before the buildings that now block it’s view to the north and west. Still glad to see it finally happening.
  24. they're literally based in Providence… let’s not act like their CEO lives in Celina and that’s what’s influencing their real estate decisions… my point was their focus was on their mission, not appeasing posters on a forum
  25. Ok and White Castle was actually founded it in Wichita, Kansas what’s your point?
