  1. In a way yes… but for sake of staying on topic most are giving the pharmacy in the short north a pass for doing the same thing… because they’re doing good for their community… CVS isn’t a real estate company… they along with Walgreens and the rest lease those urban stores… so again, just because they disappoint you doesn’t mean they don’t do good things too
  2. CVS is from Boston/Providence, RI…. Also they’ve done a great job during the pandemic and even before providing healthcare services to underserved areas. Plus it’s not like they don’t have urban options, there used to be one on state and high in a multi-story building that just closed in April. So their development style doesn’t meet your expectations, the other things they’re doing are far more important at the end of the day.
  3. Have you ever tried to get off at Neil coming from the east or merge from Summit to 670?… I think you have your answer 🤣🤣🤣 and coming from the west isn’t much better!
  4. I’ve honestly never seen it or heard of it, at least not in Cbus. Minus maybe garages built with a future conversion in mind. Interesting to say the least.
  5. How so? Out of the Closet has been the sole occupant of that building from the start and developed it. I believe it was supposed to have a pharmacy but couldn’t tell you if it ever came to fruition.
  6. The Hilton puts a lot of the new developments into perspective… until you see the elevator shafts at OSU
  7. Johnstown on its own is a big enough town to expand and it’s in a different township. Why would they even consider being absorbed by New Albany?
  8. This isn’t a satirical #thanksobama moment, the fact remains his administrations EPA regulations forced a lot of the closures.
  9. If you think it was caused strictly by a storm I’m not sure what to tell you but that’s not the whole truth. The grid was stressed and plants going offline before there was infrastructure in place to make up for them was a major part of the problem. I am not blaming the man himself but the push to close coal fired plants began under Obama in his second term and that’s a fact. A simple google will show you and that also includes the ones closed in the first year of Trumps administration. I will also mention this was a major failure of Kasichs administration as well, he didn’t do much to help us through it. Other posters can blame the costs of operations but that was only an issue because of new regulations. The utilities had spent billions on technology and upgrades which had led to these plants already being a cleaner resource than their predecessors. This led to AEP and other utilities in the state to sell a lot of their plants during this time. Btw I want all forms of energy on the table so our grid is as secure and plentiful as possible. Also want lines buried from here on out, no more excuses.
  10. This literally happened in the past 24 hours throughout the Midwest. The forced closing of power plants before they’ve reached their end date is a major problem which began under the Obama administration. The infrastructure was not yet in place for these closings to happen and we are seeing and feeling the results now.
  11. Even if they are I’m sure they don’t want to do your dirty work!
  12. That probably didn’t exist for the North American market in the 80’s.
  13. There is still significant demand and growing in Columbus… not sure that’s going to happen, it may slow but just look at the amount on the books, even if it does it won’t be very noticeable because there will still be action all across the city Cbus lacks two main components right now… housing and tradespeople
  14. A lot of these projects are already funded. The problems I’ve seen are supply chain and staffing, still…..
  15. I mean it faces another garage….
  16. This really isn’t Smoots field, they are more institutional and government work. A lot of these data centers, factories, etc fall into a different category. Gilbane & Turner are one in the same pretty much, with Gilbane being more in this field than Turner. I wouldn’t be shocked to see companies like Cupertino Electric(who specializes in the data centers & tech world) to be more of who is in the fold. That being said they do subcontract out so several firms in the area will get work from this project. It looks like Complete General(or Igel couldn’t make out the trucks) is already out there doing the road expansion. There will be plenty to be had for all, just like with the Facebook Data Center.
  17. An honest line from the CEO would’ve been just that: “construction costs have doubled but the value of our property has quadrupled.” They can literally move a few miles east on 5th; buy, build and still have money left over.
  18. Me thinks they go big on that site… just a hunch
  19. They’ve improved so much since they started out… quality with Kaufman has gone up pretty noticeably
  20. *Ohio has one of the largest number of boat registrations in the country. A lot of boats in Cleveland and there are large marinas on the river and both sides of town that are full during the season. Not to mention the private yacht clubs as well. Many people from the Cleveland area also keep their boats out by the islands and Sandusky, some out east in Madison, Geneva, Fairport Harbor, etc. Cincinnati has more boats than you think as well. I would say Pittsburgh has more though but they also have more water.
  21. I would be shocked if Lebron bought and moved a team here… however never say never, Seattle will be the next city to have a team though(again) and the rumor is Vegas will be right behind… I don’t really see New Orleans moving but that’s just me one odd tidbit of info, Louisville built their arena in hopes of luring a team there or at least that was the rumor
  22. So it’s Indianola or 71? Because now that you mention it I did know that, the signs are on 4th & Hudson.
  23. The good thing about that @DTCL11is that you can go two blocks over and have a protected bike lane if you’re coming from the north. High Street is a US route and main thoroughfare, has been long before us.
  24. Have you spent significant time in Charlotte? As someone who has and does(as a matter of fact I was there just this week) I don’t think that’s an apples to apples comparison either other than they’ve both been growing for about the same amount of time. Columbus has as much or more bike lanes or “road diets” as all of the above. Look at summit and probably 4th soon, look at high street from campus to downtown. Also Columbus has a great bike path along the river that can get you to the same destinations and connects the neighborhoods via bike lanes. If this all stems back to the Indianola argument from last month I’m going to rest my case there and leave it alone.
