  1. Westerville, particularly up in Genoa Twp is Ahia Valley central!
  2. Pretty ridiculous considering it's all outdoors.
  3. $500m is just for the redevelopment if I'm reading that correctly. That means purchase, remediation and new buildings on the properties. Brook Park alone is 195 acres and built engines since before the EPA was what it is, so you're looking probably $20m+ in remediation work there alone. Just for reference 489 acres of the former Bethlehem Steel plant in Buffalo is estimated at $35m.
  4. I don't think you need to apologize for having pride in where you live/come from. I want to apologize if you took what I said out of context(and I may have worded it incorrectly). I honestly love the Newark area and was referring to the old parts reminding me of where I grew up in Eastern Ohio(the good and the bad). I agree the area has come a long way in the last 10 years and is going nowhere but up in the future.
  5. The older parts of Nerk are VERY Eastern Ohio, if that makes sense(not a knock bc those are my roots). You have 'Urban Youngstown' in your signature so I assume you do.
  6. You're 100% correct; I'd bet that this will be going vertical before fall.
  7. Founders Park just absolutely blows my mind, watching a city blossom is so damn cool.
  8. It was 2007 when the last Grand Prix of Cleveland took place, that event NEEDS to come back in some form because that style of racing is as popular as ever. Even F1 is making a strong push into North America at the moment. If Cleveland could get an IndyCar or IMSA race it would be huge in my opinion.
  9. I kind of was too until the neighbors audio/video came out. But also stand your ground I don't believe means actively attacking. I admittedly haven't read the law yet but only 1 of the 2 appear to be actively attacking Bryant(the one who was shoved to the ground), she(Bryant) then appeared to attack the female in pink. Overall a tragic situation, could have also been much worse. *As a side note, it's amazing to me that a taser has not been developed that can penetrate basic clothing. It would more than likely leave one hell of a scar but would be much better than the alternative. My guess is the projectile would have to be shot at such force that it could too potentially kill someone. If anyone bow hunts or is a fan of archery you will know what I'm talking about. **SORRY FOR THE RANT**
  10. It was there until at least 2007, they had a male review as well so depending on the night you didn't know what you were going to see haha. It was right next door to where Arch City is now and a hookah lounge was next door to it.
  11. I've only seen a few true towers built but that seems to be the SOP, they'll start closing it in at the bottom as the top progresses.
  12. Been in cbus since 2006... the city is virtually unrecognizable in most areas
  13. My guess is both of the projects (the Madison one you mentioned and Harmony) get built within the next 5 years. The bill passed by DeWhine a few months ago is going to spur height in urban development. We're going to see 4-6 15+ story projects begin in that time frame.
  14. Somebody should tell Kathleen she's more of a Clintonville person!
  15. How so? They asked for things in return when the airport essentially just said "give this to us." I think both parties were in the wrong, but that's just my opinion. And if it were on Snow Road it wouldn't make that entrance into the airport look like the rust belt wasteland that it does currently. It might even spur the office buildings and hotels that you desire.
  16. No masks? Dare I say this looks like a utopia, maybe a sign of things to come in the next 5 months? Fingers crossed! Can't wait to see a match here!
  17. Relocated rental facility didn't that just happen within the past 20 years? Well I hope Brook Park get's it where the Ford plant was, because it would be much easier to get literally everywhere if it were off of Snow Rd versus it's current location.
  18. Article says 1 of 2 buildings will be saved, so to me that's a W. The one fronting Main is nearly 100 years old and abandoned for 30+ years, doesn't bode well.
  19. This is a great look for Root and central Ohio. I was at the IMSA race in Daytona this past weekend, loved seeing C.O. represented well on a international level. Byers Imports, Renier Construction(they do mostly dealership work), Meyer-Shank Racing(Pataskala) in an Acura, RLL Racing out of Hiliard just to name a few. Natonwide historically has been involved in Nascar as well, but good to see some new blood on a national level.
  20. I hope that it turns into a destination a la the whitewater center in Charlotte. Obviously a little different scenario but if they have zipline courses, bike trails, kayaking etc it's going to be a success.
  21. wpcc88 replied to YABO713's post in a topic in City Life
Rossi Construction out of Middleburg Heights
  22. If Cleveland/Cuyahoga were smart they would start developing the infrastructure now to become a container port lead on the Great Lakes. The impact it would have on the 3-C's, Pittsburgh, etc would be enormous. It could happen even with the downsizing of the port fronting the lake. My prime example would be Savannah, which is one of the leading container ports on the east coast. The ships have to pass through River Street to access the port, much like The Flats in Cleveland.
  23. I stick with the salad and subs, pizza is ok but the salad is their specialty.
