  1. Me, too! Manresa was a lot of fun. Wow, 1200 incoming freshman! My freshman class had a little over 800.

I do go to local coffee shops as well, but many of them do not have as good of hours as the local Starbucks does.
  3. Mr. xumelanie and I just got a MacBook Pro. I guess you can say we're converts. :-)

I'm the youngest, and I work in the IT field. However, I'm the only one of the kids in my family that enjoyed art. I read somewhere years ago that the first two kids in a family are usually very different from each other. That seems to be the case in most families I know.
  5. Didn't you just say that you are unsure if O'Toole is telling the truth, yet he makes sense?

    Geeks attract! :-)

  8. That would cover two months membership. I doubt that would save any money. Most people would probably end up using twice as much.
  9. That's funny! People like owning cars! I think a lot of people own cars out of necessity, and there aren't very many options otherwise.
  10. It's between Main and Walnut. I think it was a Frisch's years ago. More recently, it was the site of the lunch for the first Urban Ohio walking tour of Cincinnati Yep, Rise and Shine.
  11. I am considering a move to the Gateway quarter. Why is the Gateway I building considered junk? It's personal preference. I was not impressed with the floor plans in the first Gateway building. The other buildings in the Gateway Quarter also seem to have better features such as hardword floors and granite countertops.

It's nice to see that some businesses and people still get it. :)
  13. I'm assuming they would also need their own police and fire departments as well. I don't see how Westwood would be better off leaving the city.
  14. I hope they get new owners or at least a new chef. I had Pad Thai the first week they opened and it was bad...real bad, which is hard to do with Pad Thai. Which is a shame because the old thai place at that location, while a little greasy, was pretty decent. The chef they had when they first opened did not last long. I think he was there for maybe a couple of months. He was replaced with a decent Thai cook.
  15. The 7th and Vine location is only open until 4 PM on Saturdays and usually closed on Sundays. The only time I have seen them open on Sunday is during a Bengals home game. It is sad that you can't eat Cincinnati style chili in downtown on a Sunday or for dinner on a Saturday night.
  16. I've been in the garage, and it is how they described it in the article. Very tight to get in, and it does look like they made the spots smaller to get more of them in the garage.

I can believe this, as I am frequently asking my pharmacist questions about meds, including OTC ones. Plus, they have to deal with the public and insurance companies on a regular basis. I figure that alone is problem tough work. I don't see them as just pill counters.
  18. We've noticed the same thing, especially with Cafe Martin. It can be hard to get something to eat around 3 PM on a Sunday. We've also had several experiences when we walked into a restaurant only to find that their kitchen is closed until 5. I see where Sherman is coming from with Lavomatic. It does seem more upscale than your average neighborhood restaurant. I also would like to see a new place open that is very casual, casual enough that I don't feel stupid wearing a t-shirt and shorts.
  19. I don't own a weather radio myself, but is there a setting so that it only goes off if there is a warning in your county?
  20. Yes, I no longer feel rushed to get a safe spot when I hear the sirens. I thought years ago they were only used for a tornado warning. I will still turn on the TV, radio, or computer when I hear them, but I don't feel as rushed. I agree it does have the "boy who cried wolf" effect and confuses people.
  21. Sirens in Hamilton County have been used for severe thunderstorm warnings with the possibility of a tornado. It can be confusing. When I first heard the sirens last night, I didn't really think there was a tornado warning until we turned the TV on. There have been numerous times when the severe weather sirens went off when there were no tornadoes in the region.
  22. I think it's also important to point out that the ballot language will make it tough for any type of passenger rail in Cincinnati, including possible light rail or Amtrak.
  23. That is nothing compared to the view from the Banker's Club.
