Yikes! Boom! Pow! Cincinnati's very own Superheroes
I've never seen them, but my friend has seen the Shadow Hare several times. He has a myspace page, and his occupation is listed as "super hero." The guy isn't big. I hope he doesn't get hurt.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
An upscale beauty salon is going there. The entrance on the side was relocated to the front of the building.

Cincinnati: Texting While Driving Ban
Exactly! It seems that every time I see a driver do something stupid, such as taking up two lanes, they are almost always yakking away on a phone (seriously, people can't go more than 30 minutes without talking to someone??). I do agree that other activities are just as dangerous, such as eating, applying makeup, or constantly turning around to discipline kids when driving. I cringe when I see any of this.

Cincinnati: Findlay Market
^ I've had the same problem, so I don't even bother going on weekdays at 5. I believe they have always been open until 6, but most of the vendors don't stay that long. It would be nice if the whole thing was actually open until closing time.

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
I think having a mix of both chains and local places is good.

There already is a Facebook group for Urban Ohio.

Social media poll (twitter, facebook, etc.)
I use Facebook the most. I signed up for Twitter, but I have barely used it. I have a myspace page, but I barely do anything with it.

Prostitution in Cincinnati
*sigh of relief* I kept wondering if/when you were going to be arrested. I'm glad you didn't actually do this!

Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
My understanding is that Fountain Square is a public square, but it is managed by the Fountain Square Management Group (part of 3CDC). I don't think 5/3 ever owned the square.

Prostitution in Cincinnati
I hope I don't sound like a mom, but be careful! :)

Monroe: Cincinnati Premium Outlet
Here's the article: http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,16217.msg338958.html#msg338958 Doesn't sound like an infrastructure issue that was holding it up.

Are you a textaholic?
That is crazy! How does one send 10,000 texts in one month? I average about 550 a month myself. No wonder the girl had 5 F's in school. At least the parents destroyed the phone. I was surprised that the girl was laughing. If I had done something like that and got into that much trouble, I definitely would not have been laughing.

Suburban Sprawl News & Discussion
^ Very true. I heard the old rules would allow someone to write off the amount given by Kelly Blue Book.

Xavier University Musketeers Athletics Discussion
I definitely agree that this is one area where he goofed. I wish he would not have made that announcement on Sunday.

I'm sure there is something like that. However, it is hard to get excited over a contract extention knowing there are clauses like this.

That is fine, but it does cost money to run and maintain a car.

Some ideas for Cincy
That would be great! I would love to see more business open late on Court Street, and that would certainly help. Do you mean cobblestone the street or the sidewalk? I do think that would be a great spot for a hotel, and I think 3CDC may have mentioned something about that at one time. The Metropole has at least cleaned up their act, so I don't think there have been many issues with them in a few years.

Xavier University Musketeers Athletics Discussion
Last year he had his contract extended through 2018. My understanding is that he had notified XU's athletic director before going to Arizona. Contracts must be meaningless.

Xavier University Musketeers Athletics Discussion
Very upsetting news indeed. I don't understand how someone can give a definite "NO" and then change his mind overnight. I also do not like the comments that he could never win a championship game at X. That is a smack to the players. I also heard that the players found out through the news again. They should have been told sooner than that. And please don't say it's not about money. How could it not be about money when this position pays over twice his salary with a $1 million sign-on bonus. *sigh*

Cincinnati: Downtown: Mabley Place (formerly Tower Place Mall)
There is a new store in Tower Place in the old Brentano's space. It's called Everheart. They sell cards, candles, pictures, purses, and "gift items." I stopped by last week, and it reminds me of a Hallmark store. Downtown has needed a place like this since Hallmark and M. Hopple both closed up shop downtown. I used to buy a lot of cards from the convenience store in my office building. Now I plan on going to Everheart.

Time warner cable is too damn expensive
Can you get DSL service from anyone?

Time warner cable is too damn expensive
I'm in Cincinnati, so I'm not sure what options are available in Cleveland. I just want to mention that I do not have cable or satellite - just a set of digital "rabbit ears." We do have DSL from the phone company. My husband does go to hulu.com a lot to watch TV shows for free, including many that are on cable. We have a computer hooked up to our TV, and it works very well. I know The Daily Show and The Colbert Report are offered. The disadvantage of hulu is that you don't always see what was aired right away, but we don't really care about that.

Channel 9 is reporting that Sean Miller rejected an offer from Arizona. I sure hope this is true. :) http://www.wcpo.com/news/local/story/ESPN-Sean-Miller-To-Stay-At-Xavier/aTqnbZ0UsUq4c7lSOy9YzA.cspx
