  1. Unfortunately, it looks like Sean Miller flew to Arizona to interview. :( http://www.wlwt.com/sports/19100705/detail.html The news report starts off saying "Xavier University could soon be losing its head men’s basketball coach." Later in report, they mention "It has not yet been made public as to whether Miller was offered a contract by Arizona."
  2. There is a Dewey's pizza nearby. Ambar India is also very good. It's owned by the same family as Akash India on 6th Street.
  3. Definitely a great season! I can't wait for next season. :)
  4. I also get the impression that the streetcar is not a Republican/Democrat thing. I have friends that are strong Democrats that do not support streetcars or light rail. I know quite a few Republicans that are for it.

i'm surprised the Dell from 1997 still works. ;)
  6. I hope there are many "rebuilding" years ahead! :)
  7. Sweet 16!!!!!
  8. 7 years? How long was he in school? I'm assuming that most freshmen can not be RAs, so maybe 8 years?
  9. No pictures, but I did see all the spaces near 6th and Walnut in use today. I normally see at least of the spaces used every day.

I find this ridiculous myself, and I do not think this woman should be qualifying for assistance. I almost wonder if someone would apply just to make a point.

    Are you listening after midnight?

I agree. It gets old constantly having people bash my neighborhood along with explaining why I live where I do.
  13. I don't understand this at all. So these people never worry about their children? They must live in a plastic bubble. I also can't imagine a hospital tearing a community apart. Do they also have a problem with the firehouse that is nearby? After all, they probably hear sirens (gasp!) from the fire trucks.

I'm actually conservative myself, and I'm a big supporter of urban living. I think perception of crime is the bigger issue. I don't think crime is nearly as bad as the media has people think it is.
  15. Try it again, Chris (the owner) has done a lot of good things in the past year he has owned it. He's worked with CPD to cut down on the kids loitering, the litter is down, the gas and air pumps work fine every time I've been there, and the classical music does work. My husband and I actually stopped at that Shell station about a week ago. We didn't have any of the issues mentioned, and the credit card reader worked fine. Unfortunately, the Shell station is no longer playing classical music. I have noticed that I am panhandled more often when I go there since the music has been turned off.
  16. Plus Rockin' Robin's and Madonna's, both within 1.5 blocks away from Fountain Square.
  17. ^That link is not working for me. The DRC is always notified of new liquor licenses in the Central Business District. They were recently informed about a liquor license for the new bagel place on 7th Street.

Satellite radio has been having financial problems for years. This is nothing recent.
  19. Hathaway's in downtown Cincinnati
  20. The 580 Building has a 13th floor.
  21. I agree. Many of my family members go to the casinos in Indiana. They'll go to Argosy, Grand Victoria, and Belterra. It would be nice to keep that tax money in Ohio. Also, if the state is really concerned that gambling is harmful to people, then why do they keep the lottery? I think the lottery is a bigger scam than a slot machine or a craps table.
  22. There is also Ko Sho on 9th Street for sushi.
  23. If this goes though, it would probably discourage people from resigning near the end of their last term.
  24. That must be the only reason the "Dean" is opposed to them. His arguments that pictures should not be used make no sense to me. In my Toastmasters group, people use pictures all the time while giving speeches. People like to see them, and they can really drive home a point.
  25. I agree with most of this. When Tower Place first opened, they had a lot of store that were unique to the area. Then they started building more and more malls around the region, and many of the stores that were once unique to Tower Place started open locations at these glorified strip malls (aka lifestyle centers). The only part I don't agree with is the food court. It does seem to do a good business, and I heard that it's the most successful food court of all the malls in the region. I see no reason to change it.
