The Urban Ohio "Second Toe" Poll
My second toe is longer than my big toe. Mr. xumelanie calls this the freak toe. I always tell him that my toes are normal and his are the crazy ones!

Cincy Parks: Vol. 7: Mount Storm Park
 I have to admit that I always think about that escaped cow whenever I hear Mt. Storm Park mentioned.

Cincinnati: Downtown: Mabley Place (formerly Tower Place Mall)
I think any changes that Tower Place needs to make involves signage on the outside and marketing. The current signs are easy to miss if you're walking past. It would also be nice if all stores on the street level had entrances from the street. They also don't seem to market well, if at all. I do not think the interior needs work.

Cincinnati: Festivals, Music Concerts, & Events
I find it kind of odd that a newspaper would word it this way. I would think it's better to say "Natalie Portman, known for her role as Queen Amidala, was there, too."

Cincinnati: Xavier University
There was a blurb about that in the alumni magazine. Very cool!

Cincinnati: Xavier University
The academic mall was redone while I was a student, so I think it was done in 1996. Most of the work was done during the summer, but there were a few weeks during the spring semester when it was completely shut down. It caused inconveniences, but I think it was worth. It is a huge improvement and lots a lot better. That portion of Herald was closed several decades ago. When I started my freshman year in 1994, the portion of Ledgewood Ave that is now the residential mall had only been closed to through traffic for a couple of years. That was also redone while I was a student. It looks very nice now. Closing this street did upset many residents nearby. However, I can't imagine what it must have been like with traffic going through there all the time.

I can see my home there as well. :)

Cincinnati: Xavier University
Very nice! The campus landscaping is maintained very well. The Gallagher Center is a huge improvement over the old student center, and it's also in the background of many of my wedding pictures.

Cincinnati: OTR: North Main Street Discussion
One of my neighbors told me that Cue is now closed, and there is a sign stating that it is closed by the city of Cincinnati. Does anyone know anything about this?

Homeowners Associations: Good or bad?
Wow, that is just awful! It sounds like the owner of the HOA is power hungry. :(

Cincinnati: Rumpke landfill to double in size
Just curious...does anyone know if Colerain Township does anything to promote recycling? It seems that they spend so much time fighting Rumpke's expansion. It makes me wonder if they put any energy towards things like reducing waste, etc. I'm not trying to be sarcastic, I just honestly don't know. If they don't do anything, maybe they could start in administrative offices.

Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
I think Panera would do very well downtown, and I hadn't even thought about the catering side of it.

Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
Panera Bread, on Calhoun, experiences the same issue. I've been lobbying for some time for them to open a Downtown location to help take some of the catering pressure off of the Calhoun location and expand their presence with the corporations Downtown. I heard that a Chipotle is opening across from JoS Bank & Co, which will take some line pressure off Potbelly Sandwich Works during the lunch hour. Yup, there is a "Coming Soon" sign there.

I'm also an addict. It's really bad when you're known at three different coffee shops!

cold brew coffee?
Where's Kitty's? Kitty's Coffee has two locations. One is in the Merchantile Building between 4th, 5th, and Walnut Streets. They are actually inside the building near the Broadway Series office. Their other location is on Court Street between Main Street and Walnut Street (about a block South of Coffee Emporium).
