  1. Bootsy's fire was arson http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080722/NEWS01/307220043/1055/NEWS Someone set fire to the Bootsy's construction site, including blueprints and recipes.
  2. I would be surprised if a significant number of people refuse to shop there. People tend to have short memories.
  3. Wow, people actually say this? I see smiling children all the time!
  4. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case.
  5. Very good question. I agree with you 100%

Last year, I met up with some friends at a restaurant in Rookwood Commons, so my car was near the restaurants. After we ate, I decided to go some shopping by myself, and I ended up walking down near Wild Oats/Whole Foods. I finished my shopping around 9 PM. No one was in the part of the Mall, and it was rather empty and dark. I felt very uneasy walking back to my car.

A dollar is enough to buy a 40 oz. bottle of beer. I understand that panhandlers are human, but most of the ones I've encountered either lie about their situation or refuse help.
  8. 50% capacity? I thought all the downtown hotels were booked this week?
  9. We ate at Pigall's for the first time last night for our five year wedding anniversary. :) We agree that everything was perfect. I highly recommend the place if you want to treat yourself or have a special occasion to celebrate. I do recommend eating light the day of because you will be served plenty of food, and it's rich. Jean Robert is not shy about using heavy cream sauces, etc. It's all delicious.
  10. I've noticed the racism on the Enquirer's site along with the other news sites in town. Very horrible and embarrassing to the city. It reminds me of five year ago when my husband and I bought our first home in Pleasant Ridge. People actually asked why we were moving into a neighborhood that has black people. I could not believe it when people actually said this. I've been to the Holocaust Museum in DC myself. I can't believe someone was not be impressed with it. This is a moment in history that should never be repeated.
  11. No, they are using a wrecking ball.

Kitty's Coffee in downtown Cincinnati serves cold brewed iced coffee.
  13. I am an OTR resident, and I still can't spend much time there.
  14. Enzo's did try some Saturday hours, so maybe that will come back at some point.
  15. ^ really? You would think they would add another shift right afterwards then.
  16. There was a different owner when it was Rookwood Pottery, and I think the menu was different.
  17. I can't believe I missed that in the newsletter! I hope they post a sign soon about their extended hours.
  18. Unfortunately, this trick does not always work. :( Last time I went to Servatti's on Court and Walnut on a Saturday, I arrived ten minutes before their closing time (noon). Several people came in behind me to buy stuff. I thought maybe this would tell Servatti's that they need to expand Saturday hours. Instead, they went the other way. They are now closed on Saturdays. So now I buy desserts and pastries from Graeter's on Fountain Square instead.
  19. What are Potbelly's new hours? I walked by during lunch, and they had their original hours still on their sign.
  20. That is great! It's nice to know that businesses are willing to listen. Very true. But whenever I see you at a bar or a happy hour, it's 5:00 or later. ;)
  21. If their hours suck, I will be pissed. Me too. They better not have the same hours as Potbelly's. I will definitely complain. On the other hand, Chipotle applying for a liquor license is a good sign. I can't imagine going through the trouble of obtaining one just to be open for limited hours. I would assume that most alcohol sales take place after 5 PM and increasing the later it gets.
  22. Because you're moving to Cincy soon, I would look at Cincinnati Bell Wireless then. They have no contracts. And as a new customer, you'll probably get a discount on a new phone as well.
  23. The median on Central Parkway in downtown Cincinnati is still under construction in Streetview.
