^ You can also catch the 2X (Madeira Express) to get to Highland and Ridge in about 15-20 minutes. However, these routes are limited to only a few a day.
  4. That is great news! I would love to see more businesses open in the evening and/or on the weekend on Court Street, and this sounds like a great step towards it. The two blocks from Main to Vine have such a great vibe during the day.
  5. ^ While I don't go to movie theaters, I do enjoy live shows and entertainment. I also enjoy going out to eat a meal, dessert, or just for a drink. These are great things downtown. I also like going to art galleries and museums. As for shopping, I do prefer shopping in a store instead of going online. However, I have purchased things online when I couldn't find what I need at a store.
  6. That is exciting! I hope something doesn't ruin it.
  7. I don't watch a whole lot of television myself. We have more computers in the house than TVs (I know, we're geeks). I see a movie in a movie theater maybe once a year now. I am far from bored, and I am not lonely.
  8. I received something about Cincinnati Barbies....I'll have to look for it.

  10. Mmmmm....sauerkraut balls!
  11. I couldn't agree any more with this statement!!!!! Please, please, please return the German heritage to OTR!!!! I agree this would be pretty cool. :)
  12. That is funny!
  13. While I hate to see stores leave Tower Place, I can understand why a chain jewelry store may not do well downtown. I certainly do not patron them because I have better options downtown for jewelry. Family owned stores tend to have better quality products along with better prices. Why go to Rogers if you could go to Richter & Phillips or Cook's?
  14. The turkey chili is very good. I also tried the turkey sandwich, and it has real slices of turkey on it. :) None of that fake processed stuff.
  15. They were closed? That's a surprise. I was just at the Findlay Market location on Saturday. The one on 4th St. is now open. It's between Walnut and Vine.
  16. The same Skyline was open after the Labor Day fireworks as well.
  17. That's a bummer. The indoor water park sounds cool, but I can't justify spending around $300 for a hotel room when I have a place to live that is about 45 minutes away. For that type of rate I would rather stay in downtown Chicago or something.
  18. Do they only allow hotel guests to use the indoor water park, or can local people purchase day passes?
  19. I have met quite a few people recently who moved here from other cities. It is indeed very interesting talking to them and hearing other views.
  20. The DJ's music varied. It wasn't all rap. I arrived around 10:45, and there weren't tons of people. However, more came as the night went on. By midnight the square was packed. They did allow people to ice skate for free. :)
  21. There are units on the back of the building from floors 5 through 13. All of these units have already sold and are occupied. These units are the only one with individual balconies, and I heard that they sold pretty quickly.
  22. We really need some decent, yet affordable, clothing stores downtown. Limited, Express, and NY & Co left a void in the women's clothing area. Macy's selection seems to have gone downhill, and TJ Maxx is hit or miss.
  23. In the fall of 2005, I heard a rumor that the Talbots at Tower Place would be closing. I went into Talbots and asked if that was true. The manager said that no it wasn't at the time. At that time, Crestview Hills just opened. She said that up to that point, the downtown Talbots was beating CH in sales. However, the headquarters said that if sales dropped because of CH, that the downtown one could close. I rarely shop at Talbots myself, but it's still unfortunate to see them go.
  24. Yes, Richter & Phillips is very reputable. I have gone there for watch repairs and watch battery replacements as well.
