  1. ^ They act as if this is breaking news. ;)
  2. My husband and I stopped by for happy hour last night at McSchmick's , but the bar area was packed. We decided to try another night.
  3. My husband and I just moved downtown about a month ago. So far, we love it! I'm not very surprised that a business for dogs would go over well because there seems to be a lot of dog owners down here. It is actually one of the things that surprised me. Good luck with your business, and I'm glad to hear that things are going well for you.

Does your family have asthma or something that would prevent you from "breathing easy"? Bummer. Hilarious. Absolutely hilarious. What is hilarious?

Does your family have asthma or something that would prevent you from "breathing easy"? Bummer. I have asthma myself. When my asthma acts up, it is nearly impossible to find a place to go and have a drink. Before we got married, my husband was leaning against smoking bans. He changed his mind after watching me gasp for air a few times.
  6. Exactly!
  7. Thanks Ohio! IIRC, Cinci chose not to be include. Correct?? I don't think so. The owners of Argosy Casino bribed the Learn and Earn committee to exclude Cincinnati. Argosy makes the most money of any riverboat in the country, so it's cheaper for them to bribe the committe with millions of dollars than it would be to lose customers to a casino in Cincy.
  8. It is possible to buy a home without a down payment. 5/3 offers a first time home buyers loan that requires no down payment with no PMI. We used that program to buy our first home.
  9. That's probably what it is - the price points. Right now, people have several downtown options in that price range. Anything below $200K seems to go faster.
  10. None. :( But I live in a condo downtown, so I didn't expect any.
  11. Unfortunately, Hathaway's does not have late night hours. :( They close at four.
  12. This is good to know! I took a class at the Art Academy during the summer, and one night, one of the security guards was eating soft serve ice cream as I was leaving around 9:00 PM. I asked him where he got it, and he said someplace around the corner (I can't remember the name). I wonder if this is the same place. Where is this place in relation to Lucy Blue?
  13. Saks downtown received money from the city to remodel their store a few years ago. Because of this, they are required to stay for so many years. I can't remember how long. At some point they can leave, but they have to pay back some of the money to the city.
  14. It is on Montgomery, near Pleasant Ridge Chili. It's on the opposite side of the street. I forget the name of it, though.
  15. They probably will look better with the trees - they probably won't stand out so much.
  16. No info, but at the latest downtown tour of living, someone was passing out these flyers.

For over three years, we've been using a Krups coffee maker. It was a wedding present, but I think the retail price was around $100. It has a thermal carafe, so there is no burner. It keeps the coffee from "cooking," and it remains hot for a few hours after brewing. We also grind our own coffee beans.

It takes about five hours to fly from LA to Hawaii, if that gives you an idea.
  19. Perhaps these are initial renderings that may change?
  20. I think the tripping hazards were worse on the old square - higher steps, multiple levels
  21. I was concerned after Watson Brothers closed.
