I thought Brooks Brothers was on the first floor along with Tiffany's.

I saw that one. That letter made no sense. Northern Kentucky does not have a skywalk system that I know of, and most successful down towns do not have a skywalk system.

^ Mark, I think you hit the nail on the head.

Just curious, how much selection do they give you on finishes? Are the developers worried about the resale value after you? Would they let you install orange tile and purple water closets in the bathroom? Do you know what I mean? The options are somewhat limited. For example, we had about 10-15 choices for carpeting, maybe 3 shades of bamboo flooring to select, etc. If someone really wanted an orange and purple bathroom, I don't see why they wouldn't do it. If anyone is concerned about the resale, it would be the actual condo owner. I doubt the developer would be involved with resale.

How cool! We will be on the second floor. We are also excited about moving downtown. Have you worked with Kenya yet? We finished our selections about a month ago.

The 4th street views are more expensive. Our view will be of Ogden Alley. :) My husband and I checked out the alley the other day. We noticed that they have cut more windows in the back. The scaffolding is supposed to come down by the end of this week. I'm going to try to get pictures of this. Also, they have told us that we are still on schedule for March. They will still be working on the upper floors after we move in.

Sycamore Township: Kenwood Collection
If I remember correctly, the money went towards improvements on the inside, such as adding a Chanel store.

It is a lot of work, but it's interesting work. It's pretty sad to think that I'd probably do it even if no one else ever looked at it! I also enjoy looking at these, and I appreciate the work you must do to find this information. It's very encouraging.

I drive past the Cornerstone on I71 every day. It is so ugly. I go to the Gold's Gym in that building, and the parking garage below the building is terrible. The traffic flow is strange. I'm surprised there aren't any major accidents with the way the entrance ramp is set up.

XU is actually in Evanston. I think a few of their buildings are in Norwood.

Cleveland: National City Bank News & Info
I miss the small neighborhood banks - the kind with only 3-4 branches. They offered much better customer service, and they did not have fees for every service imaginable. Most of these smaller banks have been bought out by the bigger banks.

My husband and I are buying one of the small units in the McAlpin. We can't wait to move down town. We are losing about 120 square feet when we move, but I'm sure that we can manage. The picture posted above is what the outside should look like when they are finished with it. They were hoping to have the outside painted by the beginning of October, but obviously, they are a little behind on that. We have been told that the first units will be ready for move-in by March.

Cincinnati: Mt. Auburn: Development and News
Years ago, I used to pick up CityBeat when it came out so I could get the information on events, especially concerts. They blurb they printed about the Mulberry Hill Tour for Life seems typical. Eventually I stopped reading CityBeat all together because of their attitude.

I agree...that is horrible. Besides being an event for charity, I see these home tours as a way to show what a community has to offer and what is available.

Cincinnati: OTR: Gateway Condos/Kroger Garage
I thought there were plans to put some storefronts on the first floor. Did the plans change, or do you mean the whole first floor should be retail?

Great pictures! I feel like I gained a few pounds at Oktoberfest this past weekend. ;)

Cincinnati: Fountain Square: Development and News
I read the article mentioned above in the Enquirer this morning. To me, it proves that Cincinnatians do not keep up with events in their own city. How can people, espeically those who work down town, not know that construction on the square was to begin on MOnday? This has been in the media for so long. Also, I sign a sign in the elevator of a parking garage mentioning this.

Cincinnati: Housing Market / Affordable Housing
My husband and I are buying one of the units in the McAlpin building. We currently own a house in Pleasant Ridge, but we decided that we really want to live downtown. Now is probably the best time in our lives to do so. I will have a three block walk to work, and my husband will have a two block walk. We're even selling one of our cars, too. :) I like hearing about all the new condo projects going on downtown.

I plan on going to the Art Academy's open house on September 10. I really want to see how the new building looks. I've taken a few classes through their Community Education program, and I could tell that they really needed a new location. I know they mentioned parking being bad at the new location, but I don't remember it being great at the old one either.
