They most definitely are tight on space. It'll be interesting as you're correct, a lot of temp spaces right now along with the new 1819 iHub and the Digital Futures Building both off-site.

I wonder if this has anything to do with Crosley Tower and relocating all the staff in there?

Yeah and that's part of it. New arena capacity is 12,000 with SRO. But how often is an arena completely full for first/second games? Not often. I'm sure while they're considering it, it'll go somewhere else like Indy or Louisville.

There's been discussion about moving it up to UC with them being the "host institution". Not sure if it's going to happen but UC has been talking to the NCAA about it.

Sounds like a great memory to me

It's really a shame how bad it is. I understand the stance on it from the city, but the place just sucks. I was down there for Eric Church this weekend and made a conscience effort not to drink any beer/water/anything within an hour of going in because I knew how bad it was going to be. I'm not going to pretend to be an architect or engineer but if UC can gut an entire arena and create a top notch facility for $87 million, an investment of $50-$100mil from the owners would go a long way. It'll be interesting to see what happens to the NCAA games slated to be played there in 2022.

UC moving games to US Bank and PBS would not have put them in a major conference. If that was the case, they would've done it in a heartbeat. The board/student body did not want the basketball team leaving campus and instead invested to keep it there.

That makes more sense. I was confused when I saw "former WG space"

I thought that space is where Burger Fi currently is?

FC Cincinnati scuttles orange roof, scales back other development around stadium FC Cincinnati has ditched its plans for a partial roof that can turn orange at its $250 million Major League Soccer stadium and reduced future development around it, team officials told the City Council on Tuesday. The orange glow from the roof had drawn criticism for sticking out in the West End, the historic neighborhood where the stadium will be located in which brick is a predominant feature of much of the housing. More: https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2019/02/06/fc-cincinnati-scuttles-orange-roof-scales-back.html In the least surprising bit of news, all development on Central Parkway looks to have been removed.

Speaking of which, has there been any update on US Bank Arena? I know some sort of decision has to be made or the NCAA bid is going to be lost, per this article. There is a possibility to move it to 5/3rd arena on UC's campus, but parking would be terrible.

Mentioned above but the rates for students living on/near campus is through the roof. Once a commuter campus, it is far from that these days. Last year, they were up to over 6500 students living on campus I believe.

Last I heard (alumni folks, my co-workers) a few months back, this plan actually got nixed due to the price tag. They're now discussing the law building but nothing is approved either way.

The law school is moving into the (soon to be) old Lindner College of Business. There have been talks (mostly rumors) that the law building will be renovated for the Alumni Association and a Welcome Center. Talks are that they want to become better activated with that corner like a true welcome center. We'll see...

According to today's Business Courier article, work is starting soon on the Deaconess property. Hope it happens, another strong boost for UC and Clifton. https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2018/12/12/developer-will-bury-former-hospital-to-make-way.html

It was unfortunately paint that they used. But I agree, I felt on the exterior things could've been handled differently on the sides.
