  1. Do we think they continue with their plan for corner of Auburn and McMillan?
  2. https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2024/12/12/developers-acquire-public-housing-property-near-uc.html At long last, 7 McMillan Street has been transferred to Uptown.
  3. There's parking infrastructure to support three sports venues downtown. They can walk a few blocks.
  4. Why are we so concerned about parking?
  5. Here's how I'm interpreting things. The convention center site is best for land and functionality but would require more public support and buy-in. The west end site is less appealing and a tighter site to build on, but more likely to happen due to FCC backing and more private funding. The study shows those two sites as best and now it'll come down to how the funding will play out. Just my two cents.
  6. Did we ever get extensive renderings from the FCC design at the West End site or was it just the couple that were headlines?
  7. Should be a nice addition to the city skyline.
  8. I think the reality is that they will move (the Cyclones) if the arena gets built on a different site. I can't imagine the CET site would move along that much fast than the convention center location right? Their current focus is the northeast corner site development.
  9. I'd like to see these mentioned renderings
  10. Yeah I'm done responding because third best is simply just not true lol
  11. And there's been even more upgrades done since then. Off-campus venues are killer for both student attendance and recruiting.
  12. And UC has started playing Dayton down there and attendance has been terrible because both fanbases don't want to go there. So even though some events are "happening" it doesn't mean it's a success.
  13. I'm trying not to be negative nancy here, love the plans. But why is there a surface lot in the design lol. Are they not building the venue now? edit: duh it says later development.
  14. I did get that part but that's not what your first sentence said lol. Regardless, I do agree that it's always going to happen or be 1:1 in terms of demand and sales. That's also just a two-year snippet right? Other artists/bands that didn't tour during that time frame that would've done the same.
  15. Not interesting for you but the reality is that they sold 13,000+ tickets in multiple neighboring cities so the demand was there.
  16. The nice thing about the convention center site is there's room for additional development. You could replicate what Boston did around TD Garden (with a better designed arena).
  17. And it's the only arena in town.
  18. Uptown would've certainly been a choice.
  19. That takes me back. Still remember getting his emails during my college years (09-13)
  20. Looks as if UC is officially exploring renovating Daniels Hall or building an entirely new dorm in its place. https://dam.assets.ohio.gov/image/upload/ofcc.ohio.gov/Portals/0/Documents/Opportunities/RFQ/2024/RFQ-UCN-25029A-AE.pdf
  21. Well they've now hosted a CFP National Championship, NBA All-Star game, US Olympic Trials, B1G FB, MBB & WBB Tournaments and Final Fours. Mostly due in part to the enhancements and success of the 2012 Super Bowl.
  22. I'm glad they looked into it. We obviously knew this was never going to happen. Now let's get back to practical renovations.
  23. 1,310 beds with only 201 parking spots seems like a win. Street-level activation is better than I anticipated. Curious to see the McMillan side.
  24. It's as if somebody fat-fingered the draw tool in iPhone photo editor and they just left it.
