Yeah I don't know about that. Just take a stroll through CUF this week (move-in week) or next (start of classes) to see how busy and populated it is.

Some pics from a walk around campus. They realigned University Circle with Straight Street and are working on some of the bump outs now. Here's a before and after. They did not widen it on the UC side but does look wider on the west side by the new development. Also getting close on the old law site. Looks like walkways and planting are all that's left.

I would have to guess we're a few years out from anything happening. My thought (not alone in this thinking) is that it would be a great spot for a gateway into campus with admissions and a new alumni center (still in a temporary space since new college of business building was built) but I have no basis for that.

Truly life-altering and my favorite part of the project. And yeah, once I saw it I can't unsee it...

So they're only building on the very northeast corner for now? Leads me to believe that they anticipate acquiring those two remaining properties on McMillan then..

Noticed this on the fence around the property but couldn't snap a photo. Really hope the Hilton across the street gets built, then you'll have quite the change driving in on Calhoun from 71.

Not sure where to put this so I'll bring it up here...heard a small unproven rumor that Hughes HS might be moving/relocating out of their current building sometime in the next few years. Anybody heard anything about this?

Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2024/05/17/taste-of-belgium-close-kenwood-liberty-center.html "The restaurant group quietly closed its location in Cincinnati's CUF neighborhood back in March after only being open for business for a few months. The University Heights Bistro moved into the former Fuzzy's Taco shop space at 165 W. McMillan Ave. near the University of Cincinnati, opening in late 2023. He plans on reopening the bistro once the UC student body is back on campus for the fall semester as a Taste of Belgium Student Edition. The concept will feature a more streamlined menu and streamlined service. The goal is to reduce the labor cost and the cost of operating in order to be able to offer price points closer to what the average college student can afford."

Cincinnati: Random Development and News
Looks like the second phase of the AG47 development in Silverton is close to getting off the ground. Seems like pivoted away from the office/retail mix and is instead adding more apartments. Submittal Document - AG47 edit: Unsure if the link is working or not. 0

Narrator: They in fact, did not reopen on April 30th. Still closed.

Well I'm not smart enough in this industry to know who or how they would go about it, but like jwulsin said I think there needs to be a strategy or plan to attract residents in these developments that aren't gone from late April to mid August every year. Obviously this specific development is owned/developed by UC, but The District and other projects are not. Maybe the addition of a few more hotels would help? Like I said, not my field but just my thoughts as somebody who has worked on/next to campus for the last 10 years.

I'm curious if previously planned hotel by Kroger is still being considered or maybe they're looking to incorporate it into one of these sites instead. I really wish one or more of these developments would add in some non-student housing so the summers aren't so dead and hurt the sustainability of some of the area restaurants, etc.

I do also believe that the original $100m mark will end up being much higher. Even more so when you consider that the indoor practice field + performance center is $134m and over half of that building is just a field.

I know it's just conceptual renderings but the walls on the roof of building C & D hopefully mean they'll be a rooftop amenity because that'll be a sweet view.

Cincinnati: CUF / Corryville: Development and News
I do believe there will be some bumpouts and streetscape improvements made to straight street and the intersection pictured as a part of this project.
