  1. Yeah I think we all know where this is headed.
  2. I'm wondering if they are just planning to purchase part of the property. I believe they already use some of the surface lots on east side.
  3. I believe the hollister project will likely extend all the way to Auburn as they own most of that land.
  4. A smaller apartment development with first-floor retail (with the former credit union occupying some of or maybe all of it)
  5. Alabama's new arena is in the ballpark of $185 million as of this February. Just guesses, but I would think the Riverbend site would be around $250 million and downtown would be $400 million plus.
  6. Better than nothing I suppose. Gate B is just in a weird spot. Putting the entry at the narrowest part of the walkway just seems very counterproductive.
  7. I'm wondering if the plan is to match what was originally proposed or if it was scaled back.
  8. Yeah I think when they released the initial stadium renovation plans 18 or so months back, it mentioned that the east gate handles 45% of the stadium traffic which is pretty crazy. Have to think with the extra space, it will make the NE gate easier to access as well. edit: found the image.
  9. That's why I'm bummed we (UC) dropped the standard C-paw seatbacks from some of the price levels as a perk and it's now an upgrade. When people didn't buy them or show up, it still looked occupied!
  10. Driving home from work last night I noticed one of these two properties was fenced off and almost completely leveled. It was dark so I couldn't see which one.
  11. It will be interesting to see what UC does with the old Union Institute and whoever owns the lot behind the White Castle. Both of these would help towards what you're referencing. Side note - I always forget that Essex Studios is where the Green Jacket is made for the Masters and Augusta National.
  12. Yeah I think my ideal plan would be to build the arena on the substation lot, close Charles st and develop that small plot as the "plaza" that was in the initial renderings, then you develop north with similar plans to what they're doing on the NE corner of TQL but with hopefully more residential and closer to the other initial plans for CET site. Guess we will see..
  13. Yeah plus nowadays you have multiple premium spaces/entrances under the seats, etc that would reduce congestion in the main areas.
  14. I posted this in another thread but this site would make a lot more sense and frees up the other sites for proper redevelopment. If you close Charles street, even more space you can add if needed.
  15. It was the right decision. Moving college sports off campus is not a good move. The final product they got for $87m was fantastic.
  16. The two times I've went to Five Iron the service was fine, and saw about 5-6 employees moving around.
  17. The Cranes of Clifton (not even including the one directly behind me for the Indoor Performance Center)
  18. Driving into Clifton every day, this thing really stands out from every angle. This has to be the highest point in Hamilton county now, right?
  19. I knew they were redeveloping the plot on the corner of MLK and Eden but had no idea that they were demolishing Bellevue Gardens to make it a bigger property. Wondering if the cost to renovate was too high so they changed their plans.
  20. Yeah I'm just talking from a visual standpoint. Just looks like there's a lot of work to be done, but I don't much about this field lol!
  21. Yeah looking at the pit currently I don't see any way that the indoor field portion of this project is done before next winter, but maybe I'm wrong.
  22. There's a strong need for more indoor practice space for teams in the cold months and this was the most practical option with no space to build new facilities.
  23. Taste of Belgium is close to opening in their new location by UC in the Verge.
  24. Not sure if this has been shared here or not, first time I've seen it. Came from this article.
