  1. I do think the hotel could be a great location to capitalize on National Park tourism.
  2. Sorry for commenting 3 weeks late lol. But what is there to be thrilled about? Nothing is open but a coffee shop
  3. Yes yes yes, I will not stop ringing that bell!
  4. What a tragic loss that would be. It is an incredible asset for the neighborhood, let alone the most affordable movie ticket you can find.
  5. Do any major commercial airports not have a crosswind runway? I assumed it was some sort of a requirement tbh.
  6. From what I can tell, plan design has started. NOACA is estimating at late 2028 sell date, but I assume they still need to secure funding as you said.
  7. Per Cleveland.com: Pedestrian access: Improvements for pedestrians along the ring road and construction of a pedestrian bridge to accommodate people parking off-site and walking to the stadium. ($15.5 million)
  8. Proposed parking, if i remember correctly.
  9. Cannot WAIT for the Lorain Midway to be done; I think it will be such a game changer. Most of lorain looks like a barren hellscape.
  10. Under a deal struck in 2008, Brook Park receives 2% income tax and admissions tax from any jobs or events at the I-X Center. Cleveland, with higher income taxes and admissions tax than Brook Park, gets a half-percent of income tax and any additional admissions tax from events at the building. Sounds like there isn’t really a big win to be had here since with this idiotic deal Brook Park gets most of the income and admission taxes. So, employ a few people (minimal income taxes), move your events downtown to capture all of the admissions taxes, and (probably) increase property value. Seems like a win-win-win to me.
  11. I did read in the article is said “up to 250” so that qualifier does worry me a little. But I’ll withhold judgement until the plan is revealed.
  12. They just want the off duty overtime, which they’ll get more of when it’s outside of Cleveland and CPPA.
  13. Reading that article and knowing the other idiotic deals made with Brook Park makes me sick to my stomach.
  14. Newly built homes in the weakest markets are still eligible for 100% abatement. New homes in so-called “middle neighborhoods” receive 90% abatement. Such homes in the city’s hottest neighborhoods receive 85%. The comments seem a little hyperbolic. If you see home construction completely halt in these areas, then maybe you’ll be right. But I think it’s way too soon to say “they declared victory” and “no more development.”
