Cleveland: Festivals, Music Concerts, & Events
This is just my opinion, but: I think some of it stems from what @acd said above about Columbus, having such a long-standing and well known pride I think it also partially is due to the history of Cleveland’s pride celebration which prior to 2016 was operated by a for-profit person, and when that started to fall apart, the LGBT center was able to step in and create a new pride festival from scratch Lastly, and part of this is likely due to the LGBT center being the main sponsor, but pride in the CLE focuses more on social awareness, and I think a family friendly environment (it’s a march not a parade) and does not lean into the entertainment spectacle with big headlining performers, like some other cities do

Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
I’m guessing you never found an answer to this. I would recommend that you send an email to the ODOT District 12 public information office and ask this question they are typically very good about responding and you may even end up with a quality answer.

Cleveland: St. Clair-Superior (non-Asiatown): Development and News
It’s so that the zoning code is not forcing anyone to build parking, and unnecessarily driving up project costs. However if a developer wishes to, because they make the business decision to do so, then it’s allowed.

Brecksville: Valor Acres Development
I do think the hotel could be a great location to capitalize on National Park tourism.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
What a tragic loss that would be. It is an incredible asset for the neighborhood, let alone the most affordable movie ticket you can find.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
From what I can tell, plan design has started. NOACA is estimating at late 2028 sell date, but I assume they still need to secure funding as you said.

Cannot WAIT for the Lorain Midway to be done; I think it will be such a game changer. Most of lorain looks like a barren hellscape.

Cleveland: I-X Center
Under a deal struck in 2008, Brook Park receives 2% income tax and admissions tax from any jobs or events at the I-X Center. Cleveland, with higher income taxes and admissions tax than Brook Park, gets a half-percent of income tax and any additional admissions tax from events at the building. Sounds like there isn’t really a big win to be had here since with this idiotic deal Brook Park gets most of the income and admission taxes. So, employ a few people (minimal income taxes), move your events downtown to capture all of the admissions taxes, and (probably) increase property value. Seems like a win-win-win to me.

Cleveland: I-X Center
I did read in the article is said “up to 250” so that qualifier does worry me a little. But I’ll withhold judgement until the plan is revealed.

They just want the off duty overtime, which they’ll get more of when it’s outside of Cleveland and CPPA.

Cleveland: I-X Center
Reading that article and knowing the other idiotic deals made with Brook Park makes me sick to my stomach.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Newly built homes in the weakest markets are still eligible for 100% abatement. New homes in so-called “middle neighborhoods” receive 90% abatement. Such homes in the city’s hottest neighborhoods receive 85%. The comments seem a little hyperbolic. If you see home construction completely halt in these areas, then maybe you’ll be right. But I think it’s way too soon to say “they declared victory” and “no more development.”

What exactly are their problems with it? I don’t think it’s a that they represent neighborhoods at the outer edges of the City.
-
Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
The abatement program wasn’t eliminated, it was just pared down in what they consider already hot neighborhoods. Correct?

It looks like an erosion control mat. They protect the (temporary or permanent) seeding from erosion until the grass can be established.

Cleveland-Akron: Bicycling Developments and News
I am concerned that they will continue to just use the plastic delineators (spaced too far apart). I really hope they are considering using precast curbing to actually make these protected lanes.
