  1. Can’t say I love the look of the north coast harbor bridge, but it should be done this summer. So that’s good.
  2. Hopefully we’ll get more info. Maybe the infrastructure improvements will only be between Detroit and Broadview, but the bus line itself can still run to PS.
  3. For probably many reasons (and another one for Frank to go), the City of Cleveland seems incapable of maintaining anything at all.
  4. Just see reserve square. Hasn't been touched since 2005!

Hopefully work continues on removing the Gorge Dam! I can’t wait for that one to come down.
  6. Oh, no. Really? I was hoping that big refurbishment 20 years or so ago would have given it another 30 years. It's a beautiful span I just double checked and as of August it’s not currently considered structurally deficient; although the superstructure is one rating above what would be. However it’s never too early to think about the future :)
  7. I’m talking about W65th. It’s been identified as a key corridor to connecting all of the metroparks trail system. Look at what the TLCI proposed for the corridor. A multi-purpose path, curb extensions for crossings, bike boxes, etc. And Bike Cleveland was pushing for a protected bike path. https://www.bikecleveland.org/bike-cle/news/action-alert-w-65th-virtual-meeting/2020/06/ I’m personally not satisfied with painted bike lanes for this corridor. Experienced riders may be okay with them, but data has shown that inexperienced riders, children and the elderly avoid using them.
  8. I’m very disappointed actually. This is a glorified repaving project. They are not taking any significant step to help advance bike or ped infrastructure. On-street painted bike lanes and more crosswalks are the lowest of hanging fruit. Totally ignoring the TLCI corridor plan or Bike Cleveland’s input.
  9. This is a misrepresentation of what what I was saying. @PoshSteve was correct, ODOT is diverting hundreds of millions of dollars per year to additional capacity (e.g. lanes). If only a fraction of it were sent instead to transit it would be an exponential increase without taking away any maintenance funds. This is also just an assumption, because ODOT does not take public opinion as a driver for its project selection. I think if the public knew exactly where dollars were spent they would not agree.
  10. There are two options really. From the general fund, or from the motor fuel tax. So far, whatever little has been steered towards transit has been from the general fund. The second option is to send a portion of the motor fuel tax, instead of it being used fully for road construction. With the passed increase, ODOT decided it has enough money to continue capacity increasing projects. I think many people argue Ohio has no business funding such projects.
  11. Yeah....we’d need either a new governor, or hope that the statehouse redistricting generates a large transit friendly coalition. Maybe both.

Ughhhhhh he’s the worst Dennis Kucinich fuels possible run for Cleveland mayor with money from longtime FirstEnergy supporter Tony George https://www.cleveland.com/cityhall/2021/02/dennis-kucinich-fuels-possible-run-for-cleveland-mayor-with-money-from-longtime-firstenergy-supporter-tony-george.html
  13. According to OCI on Facebook, the developer hasn’t said one way or the other if Brew Stop is a part of the new development. Also, the Facebook group still hates it 🤷🏻‍♂️
  14. I don’t hate it...but it also kind of looks like a 💩 emoji
  15. We’ll see how this go around goes
  16. Platform too
  17. Not so bad if it was mainly funneled through MPOs
  18. I also find the presentation a little difficult to understand. Are levels 1, 2 and 3 different phases of construction to get the facilities up to “PAL 2” level? I have to admit, the thought of only interior renovations for concourses A & C is disappointing. I know this is a master plan, but I guess I was hoping for a more direct route to a new terminal instead of 20 years of improvements here and there.
  19. You reap what you sow 🤷🏻‍♂️
  20. I agree, they should merge. I don’t think the process for dissolution is any easier anyway. I don’t think the state can force, or takeover a city like in other States. I remember back in the Kasich days they were offering $10 million to try and sweeten the pot for a merger. The stories from back then just seem nuts... https://observer.case.edu/east-cleveland-merger-delay/
  21. ^Didn’t even know they closed.
  22. I thought some of the proposals, specifically Connect with Nature and the small beaches were great. I assume with the Port involved they are looking for ways to beneficially dispose of dredged material and avoid any open lake dumping controversy from years past.
  23. You give them a lot of credit. I would assume they don’t even know they have the ROW and assume since it’s a bridge now that’s the end of story. BUUUUUT I would absolutely love CVSR to be extended so I’m not mad.

Related to the recent proposed development in Ohio City and Facebook pushback, I just checked out the city of Cleveland’s zoning. It’s truly absurd how minuscule the area zoned for multi-family is.
