  1. Great photos! Always love a good bridge picture ? Just thought I’d add that for ADA compliance, sidewalks only need to be 4 feet wide (which those look close). But I agree in general things can always be improved with an eye towards pedestrians.
  2. Just like with politicians, it would be nice if we could hold companies, especially local companies, to a higher standard than “didn’t break the law.”
  3. I will personally miss heavy rail ? but I understand it makes the most sense financially.
  4. 1. I truly hate the Clip Art opportunity corridor logo 2. Was not expecting acoustic Metallica
  5. Depending on your situation (e.g. if the light was coming into your home window), the luminaire could also be aimed incorrectly. One of the positives of the LEDs is that the light stream is much more controlled.
  6. Right?! I was more than willing to pay the ~$20 per month for the Plain Dealer. But how obnoxious is it to destroy the paper and then start charging people for Cleveland.com. They’re insane.
  7. Some context from a former employee:
  8. I’m sure it’s not, but I’m not a member so who am I to tell them what to do. They are the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization. Maybe it’s a good time for the discussion to be had but I’ll let them decide.
  9. Is that really the hill you’re going to die on? You know the organization is 110 years old right?
  10. Does it look barely like the rendering or...
  11. Coming into the year the budget carried over a $40 million surplus. The city has also stated they’re budgeted to withstand a 2-year recession without layoffs. I’m not sure how deep a recession they budget for but I’m not an accountant ??‍♂️
  12. I was referring only to the Fulton Rd project (which includes the Franklin roundabout). My understanding is that the mini-traffic circles along franklin are still planned but finding had not been secured so there is no timeline.
  13. Seems like Cle.com skipped the fare reduction part of the story, which I think is important.
  14. I don’t think it’s particularly irregular. Projects usually have an overall completion date and that’s the only contractual requirement. One small crew might be doing all the work along the corridor, or maybe it makes sense for the company to reallocate resources to another project for a time. As long the the entire job is completed when required there is really nothing “wrong” although to the casual observer may seem abandoned.
  15. As someone who works with construction workers on a daily basis, I can attest to this attitude. They may not intend harm, but I don’t think that means we should accept it. Catcalling or using belittling terms (I most commonly witness this against women) isn’t okay. You can joke around with your coworkers without using racist or misogynistic language.
  16. I agree. Although if I remember correctly, the new partner agreement is for 26 months.
  17. ExpressJet ended up being cut, which is good for local jobs.
  18. For real I’m curious ?
  19. This looks better than tremont; I saw barriers there on Sunday and they put them right next to the curb. Now what is the point of that ? And not to be a narc lol but the useless traffic control “cops” all just piled into a van together without a mask in sight ??‍♂️
  20. That just sounds wrong to me...or maybe I just have a dirty mind ?????
  21. I think that filter is called “windshield” ?

Sure, capitalism as an entire system of economics is working the way we built it. But @TerribleTom is right, the boomers stepped into a system created by the greatest generation where homeownership and retirement were a real possibility for everyone. Millennials have stepped into a system the GOP and Reagan created where the generational share of wealth is at an all time low.
  23. I know it’s not good news, but I love the title lol.
