Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
While I don’t agree with some policies pushed by the Feds (like the above), the fact the Cleveland hasn’t been able to meet the consent decree requirements in over 9 years is sad. And that’s on the City. They need to get it together, meet the requirements and get out.

Ohio Congressional Redistricting / Gerrymandering
A disgrace is absolutely right. They’re shameless. and I agree with @mu2010, I’ve been trying to get my hands on a sign and can’t figure out how!

I will be commenting that CUT should be the preferred location of a new Amtrak station.

Cleveland: Union Terminal (Tower City)
You’re saying that’s the only way to get increased service at the Lakefront Station? Yeah, it sure doesn’t.

Cleveland: Union Terminal (Tower City)
Do you happen to remember why? Was is the supposed cost?

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
What is the best way to help lobby the City into moving the Amtrak station back to Tower City? I really think the lakefront station is not a good long term idea. @KJP @Boomerang_Brian

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
I’m pretty sure Ohio City Inc did a big parking & mobility study recently, but I hadn’t heard anything come of it.

I assume no RTA funds will be used for this???

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
What would Cleveland be getting out of this deal? If they annexed the land in order to help provide funds, I’d ask for NASA Glenn back.

Ohio Congressional Redistricting / Gerrymandering
Seeing a lot of (untruthful) republican op-eds. There was one in the inquirer too.

Y’all are being very doom and gloom on here. The stadium is moving to Brook Park, let’s all accept that and move onto how the City of Cleveland can take advantage of this situation.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
I would hope they’d build a new station for the stadium

I am sincerely glad it’ll be on the red line. RTA can’t mess that part up, right? 🙏🏻

Heinz Field (or whatever it’s called now) has a lot more going for it; proximity to Downtown being one of them. There also is PNC Park and a concert venue in walking distance too. I don’t think the Brook Park site has any of that, but I don’t know the full history of developing the North Shore

Am I missing it? Is there anywhere to public comment on the new lakefront proposal?

Has anything been confirmed? Last I saw the house speaker said “We don’t have $600 million to give. It’s really easy to not support it when you don’t have it.”

This article does a pretty good job laying out what the City is currently spending on the Stadium and what they’re brining in. Sounds to me like it’s the Sin Tax + parking taxes, admission taxes and ~$2 million in general funds per year. From that we can glean what the City will keep now that they’re off the hook. https://signalcleveland.org/the-public-cost-of-cleveland-browns-stadium-hundreds-of-millions-and-counting/

I don’t think the county would contribute any more than the current sin tax, and even that hasn’t been confirmed. The County has said they have not been party to any talks so far. EDIT: I caught part of the interview with the city of Cleveland on ideastream, and they said they do not believe the Sin Tax would travel with the stadium to Brook Park.
