  1. Is it possible that source 3 as a developer is just really struggling? I mean look at there Clifton development. The ground floor retail has been vacant for almost a year now. I just get the feeling that this is more isolated with source 3.
  2. Nah otr will be fine. There will always be younger kids finishing highschool and discovering otr for the first time wanting to be a part of the neighborhood. It's a cycle no? Kids go to college, graduate find a wife have kids. Those kids grow up, and will go through the same cycle of moving into college and discovering otr. Also attracting foreigners and out of Towners from neighboring states should be on our radar as well. I don't feel like that otr should be on a time window. Otr will always be a powerful attracting neighborhood that people will want to live at.
  3. I was more referring to later. With the eventual street diet, whenever that occurs and more investment in otr, the infill will become better over time. That lot is such prime real estate that there is no need to rush these things, and that maybe we will get a better product later in the future. Whether it be 5 or 10 years from now. My point is that there is no rush needed.
  4. But wait if the project is indeed dead than how does the sale of the elm Lot work? Did source 3 purchase the land and the city will refund them if nothing is built? How does that work?
  5. Maybe a blessing in disguise. This project added density for sure, but maybe now we can have a project that fits the otr fabric better. It did look as if it was better of at uc or the banks in the long run.
  6. Does anyone have any info on what is going on with Freeport row? The elm st project that went through that whole city council mess. I know they eliminated the parking garage because of financing issues. Now I'm wondering if source 3 has run into more walls financially? A part of me is wondering if this project will ever even happen now...
  7. DOES this project not need to go before the hcb in terms of design? Isn't it located in the mt auburn historic district?
  8. Great addition to Main St and OTR. We need more restaurant options especially for Main St, and we need more diverse option in terms of dining options. Also, any word on the status of 16 bit latest project on main. The duck pin bowling project with the rooftop bar? Is that space being worked on at all?
  9. So how long is this projected expected to complete? From what I understand 2 years? So around Fall of 2019 or so? So essentially we wont see 3cdc devise plans for the vine st kroger grocery store until the new store opens. I'm guessing we won't see any new infill for that plot until 2020-2021 or so.
  10. With Yvette I will feel comfortable with our future in terms of preservation and transportation. With Cranley I get scared. I literally get anxiety that more historic attributes of our city will be foolishly allowed to disappear rather than turned to affordable housing, and we will never even hear the light of day about a street car extension to Up-Town. I honestly pray with all my might that Yvette wins this election. Our city is becoming something now, but under her leadership we can truly capitalize on our success.
  11. I feel like Alladin is the first full fledged resturaunt on main, with an outdoor dining patio to boot. I can honestly say that Main St is finally appearing to come alive. Still not there yet, but with the 16 bit Bowling Bar across the street, and the latest small eateries being opened by the Drinkery owner, I feel like Main is finally beginning to catch up to some extent with the rest of OTR.
  12. It's more upsetting when it's a parking lot. If Amazon built a 50 story modern glass tower for there hq2 I would be fine with the demolition. Before the Dennison was built there was a building that was there, and so on so forth. It's progress. We just have lost so much touch with how we build our buildings nowadays which is why we are so senteminal. But progress should always occur especially in the cbd. Leave otr as our city museum imo.
  13. Doesn't the board normally pass staff recommendations. Just really want this project to get off the ground. It's probably the best looking infill to date in otr and adds density and retail. What's better than that.
  14. Huh? Doesn't it say approved based on such and such finding at the end? I'm confused...
  15. The latest hcb packet was released. Items of note: 1. The race st infill project was approved after some minor adjustments. The 2 non contributing buildings will be demolished. 2. 1626-1628 pleasant st was not approved due to its large garage and other inappropriate features. The hcb notes that the large garage was inappropriate for otr, especially since it faced the street. 3. The 3 family until elm st infill project was approved by the hcb. 4. A mixed use residential and airbnb hotel was also approved for a historic building adjacent to rheingeist.
  16. ITs kind of messed up when the neighborhood can easily be saturated with marshmellow bars but can't even facilitate basic needs like laundromats, boutique grocery stores, corner pharmacy stores, small hardware stores, etc. Otr has very little in way of that which is really sad
  17. Former Boca chef opening Korean fried chicken restaurant: EXCLUSIVE - Cincinnati Business Courier https://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2017/09/18/exclusive-former-boca-chef-opening-korean-fried.html?ana=RSS%26s=article_search Really cool development. The vacant furniture building in Findlay market will turn into a multi level food stalls and dining area. Awesome addition!
  18. If Simpson was elected mayor do you think there would be more of a push for the street diet to happen?
  19. So the money wasn't allocated from the jack casino neighborhood improvement plan? Or it was? Confused...
  20. Question? So assuming funding is in place, the 2.2 million, what's the time line then for this project to occur? Are there any more steps? Or is it all settled and will start soon? Just curious!
  21. Can someone take a pic.
  22. Is anyone in the know in regards to what is occurring at 1408 walnut? It's the large gap behind the Kroger on walnut. Building supplies are being piled on that lot. Not sure what is going on?
  23. Historic German street names will return from what I understand coming on Thursday, "Historic" announcement. Not sure if this means that streets like Republic will return fully and permanenty back to Bremen st. or not..or if there will be a sign underneath saying formally Bremen st, etc.
  24. That's awesome density! Just curious why the Calhoun infill project we heard about is struggling to get off the ground?
